She’s running from her painful past. He’s racing toward an uncertain future. Can their love set the course for a happy life together? Silas Savage is back in the one place he never wanted to be, Fury Colorado—the town where his parents died—the place where his life turned into a living hell. Silas is certain the only thing worth his time in the tiny mountain town is his brother Ryker until he … brother Ryker until he runs into sassy single mother, Grace Faraday. The second they meet she kisses him and thrusts a baby into his arms before she tells her father the baby is his. Silas never considered a family until that little boy was cradled in his arms and Grace’s lips pressed against his. That one kiss made anything seem possible.
Grace Faraday understands what family is and what it isn’t. Growing up with a clergyman as a father she couldn’t tell him she’d had a child out of wedlock. Giving up on love, she leaves Denver behind in search of a better life for her infant son in Fury, Colorado. After being abandoned by her baby’s father, Grace is determined to never fall for a man again, but everything changes when Silas Savage shows up in the nick of time to save her from telling her father the painful truth. She didn’t realize one kiss would change the trajectory of her life. Silas is the exact opposite of what she thought she wanted, but he’s everything she needs or at least is pretending to be.
When their pasts intersect with their present, will the lies derail their future, or can the truth in their hearts guide them to everlasting love?

Saving Silas by Kelly Collins
This is the second book of the author’s Boys of Fury series and I have to say each book gets better and better especially since this is Grace Faraday and Silas Savage’s story.
Now that Ryker has finally convinced Silas to come home from the desert on leave to see if they can find their other brother Decker. But will he stay or go back to wherever the Army sends him next or can he finally come home for good? When he meets sassy Grace Faraday and her little son Blue he may change his mind about staying.
I loved Grace and of course the two neighbors who love to live vicariously through both Grace and Ana’s stories. Silas loves being in the Army and being deployed but now all of that time overseas has left him waiting for a determination of whether he’ll be redeployed or medically discharged.
I can’t wait to read about Decker and Hannah the server at the diner and how their story will play out.
I was anxiously awaiting Saving Silas and it is so worth the wait. Silas is Ryker’s younger brother. Redeeming Ryker is Ryker’s story and book 1 in this series. I recommend you read Redeeming Ryker so you get to know more about Silas and most of the characters in this book. I loved the instant connection between Silas and Grace. They are perfect for each other and I love the way the author brought them together. This is a well written story where the characters don’t get an easy HEA but it was sure worth the bumpy ride. This is an excellent read and I could not put it down until the last page. This series just gets better and better and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Lust at first sight turns into Love at first sight. Every girl needs a Silas in her corner. Lucky Grace.
Favorite Quotes:
She squirted a mountain of ketchup on her hash browns. It was almost as if she counted it as a vegetable.
Ana said I had a thing for peacocks—men who strutted their beautiful faces and accomplishments, but Silas wasn’t anything like those men. No, Silas wasn’t a peacock. He was a rooster and all I could think about after that kiss was he was the nicest cock I’d met in a long time.
‘He was a weirdo, and he got hands on, if you know what I mean. I socked him in the face, and then got out of there’…. She put the coffee pot on the table and lifted her right arm in a Rosie the Riveter pose. ‘I gave him the right, he deserved more than what my left could offer.’
Babies always smell so good. When do you think that stops because I know third graders smell like farts and boogers?
My Review:
Despite living in a small town named Fury and carrying the last name of Savage, the big and burly Savage men are actually tender, loyal, and sweet teddy bears. I fell for Silas just as hard as I did for his big brother Ryker. This series has been extremely enjoyable and entertaining with an eventual and emotive storyline. However, Ms. Collins endearingly flawed yet lovable characters drive her stories, and her signature wit and deliciously steamy writing are in full bloom. I was smiling and laughing aloud as I read, and I may have also barked a few times as well due to the lascivious observations and amusing quips tossed around by Mona, the feisty senior living next door. Everyone should have a fun neighbor like Mona.
