She’s always been hot for her hockey-playing best friend, but she’s not in his league and she’s leaving Anchorage soon anyway.
When disaster strikes, Aaron doesn’t hesitate to jump in, but nothing is ever going to be the same for them. He doesn’t know how to help her and neither of them ever do things the easy way.

Aaron Ferrar and Sara Chandler have been best friends for years. While both have deeper feelings for the other, they are afraid to risk their friendship. When Sara decides to finally make the first move, however, Aaron is all in . . .until he panics and pushes her away and virtually out of his life.
When disaster brings them closer than ever, both try fighting their feelings, but finally give in to what they both want and need. But, when miscommunications and misunderstandings throw a wrench in the works it will take an entire team and their significant others to bring this couple together again.
I really liked this couple, even though Aaron took a bit too long to realize just how perfect Sara was for him! He seriously has the worst taste in women and sucks at relationships, but being friends with Sara was easy. He just didn’t feel like he was good enough for her. Sara also did a whole lot of soul searching throughout this book and realizes that maybe she doesn’t want what she thought she did and that there is something to be said for all that she already has.
There are some really adorable moments between this couple and I couldn’t wait for them to finally get together for good. 4 stars.
I love this series a lot. It has such a great cast of characters. This one has Sara and Aaron. I’ve been waiting for their book. I’m huge fan of friends to lovers so I was really anticipating this one. This book took me on one heck of a roller coaster not just the main characters, but for everyone. I loved the animals in this one especially Merlin. This book shows sometimes our dreams change as we do and that is okay. That’s something in this book both characters need to come to realize if they want a future. My heart goes out to Aaron. He hasn’t had a good track record in relationships so it makes him gun shy on commitment. Good thing he has a bunch of great teammates in his corner. It was worth the wait for Sara and Aaron’s book.
Saving Sara is the fifth book in the Alaska Blizzard series, but the first one that I have read. I loved reading Aaron and Sara’s friends to lovers story. I don’t know much about hockey, or any sport for that mater, but love the way the characters are a family and help each other. I will definitely be checking out the other books in the series and the other books by this author.
Are they more than best friends?
Goalie Aaron Ferrar and Sara Chandler have been friends since she moved to Alaska to work as a vet tech and nanny for her best friend. Aaron didn’t date much other than one-night stands because he already had a divorce and an psycho ex-girlfriend but he liked being around Sara but everything changed when they had a one-night stand and Aaron didn’t talk to her after it happened. Aaron couldn’t get her out of his mind but when push came to shove he let her go so she could realize her dreams.
Saving Sara by Kat Mizera is the fifth book in the Alaska Blizzard series and is related to the Las Vegas Sidewinders series but can be read as a standalone.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
