Three men brought together by circumstance who found something none of them knew they needed…Ren Barretti has finally come home after a year of being held captive by the terrorists who slaughtered his entire Special Forces team. But he can’t escape the nightmares that torment him or the guilt that he was the only one to walk away. The life his older brothers have brought him home to doesn’t … home to doesn’t exist for him anymore and to keep them and their loved ones safe from the rage and pain that consume him, Ren needs to disappear.
Police Detective Declan Hale has felt an undeniable pull towards the very straight Ren Barretti since the day Ren’s brother married Declan’s younger sister almost a dozen years earlier. But even though the Ren who has come home isn’t the one who left, all of Declan’s feelings come rushing back to the surface and he steps in to help the only man he’s ever truly wanted. And even though there’s no future for them, keeping Ren safe is all that matters and Declan will risk anything to make that happen.
Tough as nails former soldier and mercenary Jagger Varos has returned to Seattle after years of running from his past and he’s hoping that joining Barretti Security Group will help him finally call the city he left behind home. But within weeks, his new beginning is tested after multiple run-ins with the gruff, infuriating Detective Hale. When he inadvertently discovers that Declan is hiding Ren from the very brothers offering Jagger a new start, Jagger finds himself torn between his newfound loyalty to Vin and Dom Barretti and the need to protect the young man he himself helped rescue from his captors.
For Declan and Jagger, it’s hate at first sight but they soon realize that they will need each other if they have any hope of saving Ren from himself. And neither of them expects their mutual distrust in one another to grow into something else entirely or that Ren himself will find in both of them what he needs to rebuild his life and come to terms with who he really is.
Can the fierce attraction between three men become something more or will the demands of the real world tear them apart?

I really enjoyed this book. It doesn’t have the suspense of the previous books as it’s more about healing. I thought Ren, Declan & Jagger are great together. Yes, this book was mostly about Ren’s healing after he’d been held captive in Afghanistan when his unit was ambushed but Declan has his own healing well more like acceptance that it’s totally okay to be gay. He has walls a mile high and never even told his sister Sylvie that he was gay before she d*ed as the grandfather he spent all his time with and loved told him that it was wrong and for him to hide who he was so that’s what he’s done since he was 13 years old. Jagger’s mum never protected him like she should and took the guy who she was in a relationship but really she was his mistress side at every turn even when Mitchell who happens to be a cop went after Jagger with a beer bottle and sliced up his face that scarred even after all these years. Mitchell threatened Jagger that if he told anyone what he’s doing he’d get his mum deported so he couldn’t tell anyone. It was awesome seeing Declan stick up for Jagger with Mitchell as it’s about bl*ody time and just because Jagger is a tank of a man, it doesn’t mean that he doesn’t need protection every now and then. Ren would do the same. They all find a safe space and a home with each other. It was awesome seeing Ren slowly get stronger. It was heartbreaking to hear what Ren went through while being held captive and that he had to k*ll his best friend who he was secretly in love with Brandon as when he got thrown in the hole with Ren all bl*ody from being st*bbed multiple times, he was in so much pain and he couldn’t feel his legs so he most likely broke his back in the fall so he asked Ren to end his suffering which he did but it broke something in Ren but having a safe space with Declan and Jagger helped him accept what happened and Rafe giving him the news that it wasn’t Ren that Geri got the information about the mission it was from one of Ren’s unit so it helped Ren let go of the all the guilt he felt at betraying his unit for a pretty face. I loved meeting Zane and Connor and I think their story is going to heartbreaking but powerful and I’m really looking forward to reading it next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Another amazing emotional hot MMM romance. I do enjoy the extra man in those sex scenes, adds extra heat that’s for sure. This book is also another emotional one. My poor heart!
I’m normally not a big fan of mmm books. I have fewer problems with it if it’s just one scene where there is a threesome instead of a whole book.
For some reason, I always feel some sort of jealousy for one of the characters….if that makes sense.
I didn’t have those feelings while reading this book. I really believed in the connection these men shared and I also believed in the love they felt for each other.
It was really sweet and beautiful and very very hot :))
They really belonged together..the three of them. I felt so happy for them 😉
Awesome book…5 stars, because this was definitely the best mmm I’ve read so far :))
I really liked this one! There is so much angst, heartbreaking memories and passion! Woohoo! The lengths that Jagger and Declan went to help Ren get better were astounding considering that Jagger at that point didn’t have any emotional investment in the relationship. The world is a small place, and these three men are linked through friends, work and personal connections that all come to light.
Declan has made a mistake that led to a horrible tragedy, which made him finding happiness with another man impossible. So he hides his needs and cravings until they bubble up to the surface, and he has to find release. He is troubled, scared and suffers every day. Jagger always felt less. Nobody ever cared enough to stand up for him when he felt he could not. When Declan and Ren come into his life, all his insecurities rear their ugly heads and try to interfere. But these two men will not let him down. Ren, after being rescued from year long captivity, has a long way to recover. But first he needs to see that it’s alright to need and ask for help. Three men meeting at a crossroads of their lives find true love and happiness in each other arms. It was painful, full of anguish and need. To make a life together, they first have to forgive themselves.
There was a bit of tension, but all the men found peace and were able to move on with their lives together and fall deeply in love. I loved every page and highly recommend it!
I’ve read my fair share of Sloane Kennedy books now and I can say without a doubt that this was one of the hottest yet! Ren, Jagger, and Declan needed each other more than anything in this world and it was absolutely wonderful and beautiful watching them come together and heal each other with their love.
