When Emma is unjustly fired from her equestrian job, she swears off horses. Fulton has sworn off women who love horses, after his girlfriend left him with a long scar and a mean mare called Prophecy. Seeking solitude, Emma moves to a property on remote Sinclair Island. It’s next door to Fulton, but she leaves her antisocial neighbor alone and this suits him perfectly. Until disaster strikes and …
Until disaster strikes and he’s forced to solicit her aid with his horses.
But his open hatred for Prophecy bothers Emma and she asks to retrain the dangerous animal before he sends her to auction. It’s the mare’s only chance of going to a good home.
Reluctantly Fulton gives in, as long as he’s present to ensure Emma’s safety.
During those daily training sessions, he falls in love with his attractive neighbor – but the pretty black horse has already stolen her heart.
When Emma asks to buy Prophecy, Fulton realizes he’s again fallen for a woman who cares more about horses than him. He becomes distant – and even more determined to get rid of the mare.
Emma is devastated. Now that he’s pushed her away, she discovers her true feelings for him.
Her only hope of winning Fulton back is to sacrifice the horse she adores to prove her love for him.
But can she bring herself to surrender Prophecy?
And can Fulton conquer his deep distrust of women who love horses?

This was an overtly Christian story, with praying and Bible verses mentioned.
I loved most of the dialogue––snippy banter, done in fun––but both main characters are too recently wounded and sometimes take offense at what the other says. They inevitably return asking for forgiveness, but what a roller-coaster ride!
Saving Prophecy by Hilary Walker
Book starts with Table of Contents and why the author wrote the book and the events that sparked some of similar events and there is also praise from others
Sinclair Island Series and it interested me because ti’ll be a new series from this author. I even looked up the island online.
Starts out where Emma has lost her job and she’s decided she’s done with horses and moves to an island off the coast of SC.
She writes financial columns to make ends meet and from the first day there she troubled by her neighbor Fulton. She doesn’t know the full story yet but he’s got a large scar on his face.
They do end up helping one another when his barn burns and she’s able to calm the horses.
Little did she know that his ex girlfriend is the woman who had gotten her fired from her job and she’s on the island to do more damage.
By that time the couple have been familiar with one another and have been around town as a couple. Like that it is during the July months so there’s a lot of travel and exciting things to do, boatin, etc.
When the ex comes back into his life Fulton and Emma fall apart and she is wondering what to do next when he knocks on her door…
Misunderstandings are righted and there are so many questions she has for him…
Liked hearing of the romance and horse things, author makes you feel you are right there, very detailed descriptions. Can’t wait to read more from this series.
Love how she gets him to attend church but she questions God about all the things that go wrong…
Took the time to also read the authors blog about this book, why it was written and other fun things.
I received this review copy from the author via the publisher and this is my honest opinion.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters kept my interests, and I liked all but the ex-girlfriend. The storyline was well-developed. This book is definitely one worth reading, and I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I loved this book! Getting to know these two loners and the horse that draws them together, makes for an awesome story. I read this book in a day and highly recommend ‘Saving Prophecy’ if you love clean stories with heart. And with horses as part of the storyline, you can’t go wrong!
I loved this book, the characters and especially the little mare Prophecy.
Emma lost her job at a horse ranch through no fault of her own but swore off horses. She decides to move to Sinclair Island. Her next-door neighbor is Fulton Sinclair who has 3 horses, one being the little mare who has a mind of her own. Fulton has a scar on his face because of Prophecy so he hates her. He is determined to get rid of her, Emma falls in love with her and hates to see her sent away. I almost cried when she was sent away to the auction.
I recommend this book to all who like good clean reading.
A well written read that deals with trust and animals that live or have lived in shelters.
This is a well written and I story of the plight of animals needing rescue. The human characters have a lot of drama and issues to work through to “find” each other.
This is a well written book that holds your attention. You will fall in love with animals in this story. The author brings the story to life with her words. This is a wonderful story about learning to trust again. A big THUMPS UP to the author for bringing attention to the problems black dogs have getting adopted from an animal shelter! It’s so sad, but true, I know because I use to work at an animal shelter.
I enjoyed this book immensely! I read it in two days…i could hardly put it down but had to sleep for work. The characters are amazing. Can’t wait for the next!
