After years of abuse and neglect, Parker is found chained in a junk-filled backyard after a drug bust. The little guy’s terrified of people. Officer Ned Barringer brings him to a nearby shelter for medical care. When Ned learns how hard it is for dogs like Parker to get adopted, he must do more. He’s also instantly taken with Kim Harper, one of the shelter managers. She offers to train Parker for … for free. Ned instantly accepts. That same day, he meets his next-door neighbor, a ten-year-old boy named Russell. Russell is hiding a black-eye, compliments of two bullies at school. This angers Ned. He suffered the same fate as a child. It’s the main reason he became a cop. But what can he do? When a near-death tragedy occurs, what role might Parker play in bringing these three lives together?
Dan Walsh is known for page-turning, character driven novels. Fans of Dan’s other novels, as well as dog-lovers everywhere will especially enjoy Saving Parker (and if they do, 2 more books are available in the Forever Home series).

couldn’t put this book down.
Cute relaxing story. Easy read and good ending.
It was a refreshing read. The book actually deals with some real issues about bullying and animal abuse. Both are dealt with in ways that are not too far out on the edge which was a better read.
I love animals of all kinds but especially dogs. Since the book starts with the abuse of an innocent dog I had to keep reading to find out how he is helped. It was great! Learned a few things about how to approach abused dogs so it was a;so informative besides being a great read. If you love dogs it’s a MUST READ.
Enjoyed it thoroughly.
It kinda left you hanging, thought the little boy would recognize Parker.
Great book for dog lovers and romantics! Gives you ideas on how to deal with bullying.
I really enjoyed this book. Partly because I am a dog lover. I highly recommend this book.
Good read. Sad but true things about bullying animals and kids
Just love the story
Well written to the point that I found it hard to put it down. Good Christian story, a rewarding read….
Great read ~ wonderful story of love for each other and our pets.
I loved this book! I´ve seen the series of Call the Midwife, but the book is better, as always! I would highly recommend it to anyone.
Heartwarming. Loved the build up to the closing.
I enjoyed this book for it’s simple, easy to read style. It has depth of character and touches on current subjects that can be controversial.
I don’t usually read pet books, but this one was a very good read! Emotionally stimulating!
Great read
I enjoyed reading Saving Parker and learned more about animal abuse and dog training.
Part of the story is out of the eyes of the badly abused dog and it is heartwarming when someone decides to rescue him. You are rooting for the poor dog and it is written fairly well. A few editing glitches but does not ruin the story. Even young kids would enjoy the book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Wonderful story as well as characters. Very laid back read. I will be getting the other 2 in this category.
