After years of abuse and neglect, Parker is found chained in a junk-filled backyard after a drug bust. The little guy’s terrified of people. Officer Ned Barringer brings him to a nearby shelter for medical care. When Ned learns how hard it is for dogs like Parker to get adopted, he must do more. He’s also instantly taken with Kim Harper, one of the shelter managers. She offers to train Parker for … for free. Ned instantly accepts. That same day, he meets his next-door neighbor, a ten-year-old boy named Russell. Russell is hiding a black-eye, compliments of two bullies at school. This angers Ned. He suffered the same fate as a child. It’s the main reason he became a cop. But what can he do? When a near-death tragedy occurs, what role might Parker play in bringing these three lives together?
Dan Walsh is known for page-turning, character driven novels. Fans of Dan’s other novels, as well as dog-lovers everywhere will especially enjoy Saving Parker (and if they do, 2 more books are available in the Forever Home series).

Great story of you love dogs.
Endearing read.
It was a great book that looks at the plight of homeless and abused pets. The parts that were shown from the perspective of the rescued dog just seemed so informative for what to do and how to treat a formerly abused pet. The romantic part was cute also.
This was a sweet story about a dog and the people involved in the dog’s life.
I loved this story. It raised awareness about about animal abuse but also about the importance of rescuing and adopting animals. Nice characters and realistic and inspiring. I recommend it.
Enjoyed it
I love books and stories about animals
Wonderful, too bad there are only 3 in the series.
Sweet book. Easy reading. I recommend it.
This book about a rescued dog is very entertaining and heart rending. It is realistic and true to life. I liked the way Dan interwove the thoughts of the main characters including the dog’s feelings. This is a very good book.
The author wrote both from the perspective of humans and Parker, the dog. Seeing the world through Parker’s eyes and thoughts makes the story more meaningful and realistic. Once I began reading the book, I couldn’t put it down. My wife agrees on this, too.
Very well written. Neat story.
Heart warming read. The characters are upbeat and real. There are so many ways to help animals and neighbors. Good ideas
I absolutely loved this book. In fact I am a huge fan of all 3 of the books in this series.
Great
Loved it. Made me want a dog
Loved the book, Parker the greatest dog ever. Ned great policemen and even better neighbor .
I’m in the middle of this book now and really enjoying it. It is fun to read it and a nice clean story. They save this very abused dog and getting him back in good health. Then going to a good home with a nice cop who visits him every day. If you love dogs it will break your heart at first but don’t take long to be happy for him.
I really enjoyed this book. Uplifting
