Pretending she’s her twin gets complicated when Hope is shipwrecked with a handsome castaway. When rescue comes, will she risk her heart to confess the truth or will they part forever?
Pretending to be her sister, Hope Everly finds an adventure at last. The Caribbean’s warm waters and tropical islands fulfill nearly all her dreams. When an excursion to visit another island with a naturalist … dreams. When an excursion to visit another island with a naturalist expedition is interrupted by a storm, Hope is stranded on a desert island where she and her fellow castaways are dependent on a handsome stranger for their survival.
Alejandro Córdoba, trapped and alone on the island long enough to give up all dreams of rescue, knows nothing of what has become of his war-torn homeland or his family. When he finds the beautiful Miss Everly washed up on the shore, along with her companions, he does not know if their arrival is a blessing or a curse.
Hope’s behavior, acting one way with Alejandro and another with her friends, further confuses things when they begin to fall in love. If rescue ever comes, will telling Alejandro the truth mean losing him forever?

Just when you think you know how things are going to go there is another twist. A totally delightful read.
I loved this book.
Fun adventure with some doubt as to the outcome which makes it more intriguing.
I enjoyed listening to this story with the narration by Marian Hussey. She interpreted the voices wonderfully. She has a soothing alto voice which is pleasant to listen to and plays the voice of Alejandro, as I envisioned how a true conquistador with a perfectly accented voice to sound. Sally Britton wrote his character as a true hero and Hope was wholly a perfect match for him with her sense of adventure and sensitivity towards other’s needs and feelings. And in true Sally Britton style, the romance that developed between the two characters was truly captivating. I highly recommend reading any book written by this author as you are in for a real treat.
a good romantic story. a lovely well written book.
“She was safe! She was loved! She was home!”
Love it! So good! Fantastic writing and narration, trust me! I fell in love with the twins.
Loved it. I can’t wait for Isaac’s story. Great characters. I even enjoyed the nasty Carlburys. I guess I enjoyed that they finally got their comeuppance. I have enjoyed several of Ms. Britton’s books and will continue to seek out more.
Also, I hope you and your family arrived in the Dallas area safe and sound. May you have a great new adventure.
Nice plot and characters

Romance, suspense, and adventure make an excellent read
My thoughts on this book:
• Having the cast of characters ship wrecked on an abandoned island added excitement and adventure to this plot.
• I liked Hope. She was smart, kind and adventurous. Yes, she was mischievous, too. This was proven by the fact she traded places with her twin Grace.
• Alejando was an honorable man who had been trapped alone on the island for 14 months. He was a great survivalist and had developed many skills.
• There were many secondary players in this novel. They were varied, well developed, interesting, and added depth to the storyline.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were very well done, easy to visualize, and to feel.
• The pacing of this story was good. It was neither too fast nor too slow.
• There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book. The author’s writing style was descriptive, clear, and concise.
• This was a clean read and I appreciated that.
At my request, I was given a free copy of this audiobook from the author. I have voluntarily left my review and my opinions were my own.
Marooned on a tropical island is not the setting or plot I expected when I picked up this Regency romance, but the author took me to a place and situation outside the norm and it was all the more interesting because of it. While most of Hope’s companions try to maintain society’s manners and strictures, Hope’s more adventurous spirit embraces the situation and appreciates the freedom and connection she feels with Alejandro. I didn’t get the best impression of Hope in the previous book, Saving Grace, so it was nice to be able to get inside her head and see what is driving her impetuousness. I think Alejandro is the perfect match for her, and their unusual “courtship” fits their standout personalities. I was satisfied with the way their relationship difficulties resolved in the end, when it didn’t seem like a happily ever after was possible. I recommend reading this series in order (although they could be read as stand alones) and I can’t wait for the next one!
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
Sally Britton has such a marvelous way of creating likable characters. Hope has already been introduced to the readers, so her spunk and spontaneity is no surprise. What is a surprise is the degree she will go to find adventure and not be boxed in by others. Hope is bound for the Caribbean, which would be the trip of a lifetime, but she is going as Grace, her twin sister. Despite her dishonest approach, I could not help but cheer for her and Alejandro. They are both bound by familial and societal constraints, which threaten to derail the tender love match they have built. This is a wonderful continuation of the Inglewood series. I highly recommend Saving Miss Everly.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and all expressed opinions are solely my own.
In the previous book, Discovering Grace, we learn that Hope & Grace have changed places – Grace remaining at home, and Hope sailing for the Caribbean. However, Hope gets a little more adventure than she bargained for when she and her traveling companions get blown off course in a storm and end up on an deserted island – deserted except for one man. A man that gives Hope’s heart an extra beat.
Alejandro has been trapped on his island prison for over a year. Now there are more people trapped with him. It’s hard for him to believe in rescue after so long, but Miss Everly’s optimism encourages him and he feels his heart tug her direction. But, can there be a future for them with so much uncertainty?
This is a fantastic story. I loved the feel of adventure and looming risk of danger on the island. Also, the characters are nicely fleshed out such that I felt the emotions and romance developing between Alejandro and Hope. Furthermore, it gives a nice character study – contrasting the various virtues and flaws between each of them trapped on the island.
Romance – PG / kissing
Language – PG
Violence – PG / small fight between 2 characters
My rating – 5 stars
This is a FANTASTIC Series of Books
Sally Britton is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
The third in the series and still good. Oh Hope, what a mess you are in, but oh what a fantastic story.
I can’t wait to read Isaac’s story next!
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a beautifully written regency romance! Hope and Alejandro have the singular experience of meeting and falling in love on a deserted island rather than in a ballroom or walking in the park. Their trust in each other is built as they struggle to survive and navigate difficult relationships with those who are stranded with them. I love the message of hope found throughout the story as Hope tries to live up to her namesake and learns to love and accept herself for her own strengths rather than trying to be like her twin sister Grace. This is a unique and captivating love story and is sure to be a favorite for any fan of regency romance!
I can’t begin to tell you how much I loved this book. I read it and while there is romance, I didn’t see a romance novel. I saw a novel about a young women who needed growth and was able to experience the growth she needed. Hope was used to being a lot of things, Her twin sister, Grace, was not one of them, yet, she learned through pretending to be Grace.
It is pretty revealing when she was around people who thought she was Grace. They treated her differently and told her things about Hope that were revealing to her. And while on this journey of self-discovery, she found herself and the person that saw her. I think it helped that he met her away from her sister and didn’t know her sister. I look forward to the next book.
Alejandro Córdoba has been alone and stranded on an island. He believes that his dream has come true when an “angel” washes up on the shore. However, this angel is not alone.
Hope Everly is torn between pretending to be her twin sister in front of her friends and wanting to be herself with Alejandro.
I loved the character of Alejandro, and he was so perfect for Hope. Hope has spent her entire life being compared to her sister and found wanting. Alejandro sees her for who she really is.
I liked that there were a number of challenges and everything didn’t wrap up neatly. I also found Grace’s first meeting with Alejandro very funny.
I have never read a book about people being shipwrecked during this time period. It was an interesting take on the concept.
Returning to this little club of friends from previous books felt so familiar. I am looking forward to reading Isaac’s story.
I absolutely loved Hope’s story! What an adventure she had. This is the third book in the Inglewood series. Hope is Grace’s twin sister (book 2).They had switched places, because Hope had always longed for adventure. She set sail for the Caribbean with for Carlbury family. While on an excursion, a small group shipwrecked on an uninhabited island. Come to find out there was one castaway already living there. This was a very unique storyline. I loved the twists and turns. Alejandro, the castaway, was a welcome sight in more ways than one! I could spend a week on an island with him! Another great story from Sally Britton. Clean wholesome romance!
When the adventurous Hope takes her sister’s place on a journey she doesn’t expect to get shipwrecked and to meet a courageous and resourceful Spaniard who may be the only one able to keep their group alive. Two of her spoiled companions will almost get them killed. But Hope and Alejandro will not give up hope even if rescue will send them two different ways.
I loved the adventure that this book tells! It was perfect for this character that we’ve come to know in the previous novel.
I love how different this book is but keeping with the regency era…an island setting, shipwrecked meeting another shipwrecked lone survivor. Excellent character development in the hero and heroine as well as the supporting characters. Very well written! A new favorite from Ms Britton.
