Dewey Stone spent seventeen years serving his country and more than ten of them as a fighter pilot with a death wish. He constantly searched for that one adrenaline rush that would make all others pale in comparison. He found it the day his Super Hornet stalled and subsequently spun out of control and crash landed in the Mediterranean Sea. But Dewey hasn’t quite been the same and for the last two … the last two years, he’s focused finding his new normal and for the first time in his life, relaxing and maybe even finding the right woman to settle down with.
Magnolia Clarke had been dealt a crappy hand since the day she’d been born. She did her best with what she had. Her sole goal in life was to make sure she didn’t end up like her parents.
Dead or in prison.
However, when someone from her past shows up in her tattoo parlor with threatening her demise if she doesn’t do something for her incarcerated mother, Magnolia believes she has no choice, but to run. Having no other options, she turns to Dewey and the Brotherhood Protectors for help. Dewey will save her from her mother…
And he’ll steal her heart.

If you like the Brotherhood Protectors you’ll like this book. We see Hank and some of the guys and their wife’s . This is Dewey ‘s book. He was a Navy pilot when he comes to work for Hank. He meets Magnolia whose a tattoo artist but he thinks he’s to old for her until someone starts to shoot up her place. She’s hiding from her mother who is in prison. There’s some action, and suspense. This is a quick read and as always the characters are great.
This is book 2 in the Saving Series but it can absolutely be read as a stand alone. In this one we Dewey Stone and Magnolia Clarke’s story. Dewey spent years being a fighter pilot just looking for the next thrill. But when he almost dies, his priorities change. Now he is trying to find his new normal and thinking about a woman to settle down with. Magnolia went through hell as a child and is just trying to keep one foot ahead of her past. She made it her goal to never end up like her parents. But when her past catches up to her, she thinks she will have to run again or go into hiding permanently. But when she turns to Dewey, she never expects to feel the things she does or for him to change everything about her life.
I absolutely loved this one! Magnolia is this strong woman who had a crap childhood but is making the most of her adult years while trying to be completely different than the role models she had. Dewey is this strong, alpha male who made me laugh so much because he has literally no game when it comes to women. But that made me love him all the more!! They have this great chemistry but they also have this connection that allows them to be friends as well. I loved how their relationship came about. My only thing that I wished for was more of a resolution on what happened to his ex. I know that doesn’t really have anything to do with their HEA, but I just wanted to see her get her comeuppance!
Talty penned a fast-paced, keep you on the edge of your seat novel that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. Fans of Talty and the Brotherhood Protectors won’t want to miss this one.
Magnolia thought she was safe enough in Eagle Rock, but one tattoo changes that and before she has a chance to bolt Dewey is there making it difficult for her to decide what to do. You get why both Dewey and Magnolia hadn’t acted on their attraction to each other and unfortunately or fortunately their hands are forced now that Magnolia’s life is in danger. There is attraction, suspense, twists along with laughs and steamy times to keep you hooked and it was also great seeing Alabama and Dakota again!!
Dewey and Magnolia were really good characters. The chemistry was right on target. This can be read as a stand alone but better if having read the other book in the series. I do like the Brotherhood Protectors and am looking forward to more stories in this world. There was something missing in this book, which is why the 4 stars, just not sure what it was…however, if you have a couple of hours…sit and enjoy the story, it will be worth it.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
Saving Magnolia: Brotherhood Protectors
Jen Talty
Another great addition to the Brotherhood Protectors series. Magnolia and Dewey are perfect for each other. He just needs to get over the age gap. When she is threatened, Dewey steps up with the Brotherhood behind him to protect her. Strong characters who struggle to find their future while facing adversity.
Saving Magnolia was such a captivating story. Jen Talty has written a story that consumes you. I hooked from the first page till the last.
This book has two great things going for it one it is by one of my favourite authors and two it is one of my favourite series and like all the books in this series and by this author once I started it i didn’t want to put it down
Dewy was a fighter pilot who shouldn’t have survived the crash that ended his military career now two years later and a member of the brotherhood protectors he is still having trouble coming to terms with his new life The only thing that is drawing his attention is the tattoo artist at his local parlour a woman who he is attracted to hence the many new tattoos on his body. When her shop is peppered with bullets he rushes to her aid and finds her life is much more complicated than he realised she is on the run from her mother a woman who ran a criminal gang but is now in jail and due for release and she wants her daughter back in the fold or does she is it all that it seems With danger closing in on Magnolia it will be up to Dewey and the brotherhood protectors to keep her safe and in the process will Dewey be brave enough to let Magnolia know how he feels about her and what will she say.
Magnolia has a successful tattoo shop and she’s been very happy here in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains. Now she fears she has to leave, a man sent a picture of her mother’s crew tattoo and asked for an appointment. She put him off but an employee found the room. The events following the completion of the design make her fear for her life.
You know that Dewey and the Brotherhood Protectors aren’t going to let her run, they’re going to figure everything out and make sure she can live her life free of her mother and all the leftover minions.
Fast-paced, action-packed with plenty of suspense and sizzling heat.
I haven’t read the other books connected to this world by Jen but somehow they just found their way to my kindle.
This world has the power to suck me in and pull me under. From the opening scene the drama and tension ratchet up and left this reader gasping for breath at how quickly the situation escalates. There was no time to catch my breath as twist after turn was thrown at this pair and I despaired if their best would be good enough. I adored Magnolia’s strength and determination. And Dewey’s “awe shucks” charm had me swooning right along with the rest of the female population. Together, they made a formidable team. I think one of the things I loved most about this story is that it brought me back into the heart of the Brotherhood Protectors World I’m most familiar with and we get to see what has become of some of those couples that captured our hearts in earlier books.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
After almost two decades in the military and a crash landing that should have killed him, Dewey Stone has left the military and joined the Brotherhood Protectors. He is attracted to tattoo artist Magnolia Clarke and has found that getting a tattoo is a way to spend time with her. When she is threatened by a man from her past, he knows that he and the Brotherhood must protect her. As he learns more about her past, he realizes that she has had a horrible childhood that includes her mother serving time in prison. Fear of her mother getting out of prison has Magnolia ready to run, again. Can Dewey convince her that it is time to stop running and face and eliminate the threat? A beautiful love story of a man determined to give the love of his life a future…for both of them. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. A combination of one of my favorite authors and one of my favorite worlds is always a good thing, and this is such a combination. Dewey has been interested in Magnolia for a while, but hasn’t acted on it, and Magnolia is very aware of the handsome vet. This book has fast-paced action, heat between Dewey and Magnolia, and a revisiting of some of my favorite Protectors. It has the Brotherhood Protectors doing what they do best – protecting someone in danger and neutralizing the threat to her. It dealt more sensitively than anticipated with Magnolia’s mother too; perhaps there is redemption. So, all in all – great characters, good story, good suspense, fabulous world – what’s not to like?
I received a free copy of this book, and my review is voluntary.
On the run, Magnolia is hiding from her Mother, who is in prison, to avoid being pulled into the criminal life that she escaped from long ago. Dewey is hiding from life to avoid being hurt emotionally after a tragic accident while in the service. Together they help each other work through their fears and save each other from the worst things that could happen. A story of learning to trust and reaching out for help when you need it most. And an HEA of course.
Magnolia is a tattoo artist. She also wants to be as far away as possible from her mom finding her. She has a thing for Dewey but he doesn’t know about it.
Dewey works for Hank and the Brotherhood Protectors. He has had his eye on Magnolia for quite awhile.
Magnolia is in trouble and wants to run. Dewey is trying to get her to stay and the Brotherhood to help protect her. When trouble finally shows up, will their protection be enough?
I haven’t read many Brotherhood Protectors, but Jen Talty is one of my favorite authors and I have loved every one of her books I read. Saving Magnolia is no exception. Dewey Stone and Magnolia Clarke have been attracted to one another from a distance. Trouble finds Magnolia and Dewey is there to help. I love the well-written plot and wonderful characters. The story is in the Brotherhood Protectors World, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I love the chemistry between Dewey and Magnolia. I highly recommend this book.
Though a stand alone, if you like me have been a fan of Elle James’s Brotherhood Protectors, you will enjoy visiting with some of the characters from that series since the main male character, Dewey Stone, is one of Hank Paterson’s employees.
He’s been in Montana for a couple of years and since the first moment he met tattoo artist Magnolia Clarke, he’s been captivated by her. But he feels she’s too young and not someone who would be interested in him.
But when shots are fired at Magnolia, Dewey is determined to keep her safe.
This quick read was entertaining with some suspense, as well as sweet moments.
An enjoyable story for an afternoon of leisure.
I as entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This was an excellent read. You have your highs and lows and the epilogue was epic. Magnolia is a tatto artist and hiding out from her mom who is in prison and Dewey was a Navy plot. He has like her a long time, but he’s 40 and she’s in her 20’s. There is some danger, funny parts and new beginnings. HEA
