Saving Jake (Blessings, Georgia, #3) was a great read by Sharon Sala. Jacob has returned to his hometown of Blessings, Georgia after eight years in the Marines. His only plan is to hole up in his empty home and fix what’s left of his soul. But the town and his charming neighbor find him doing more than he planned. Laurel understands what has happened to Jake because she witnessed her ex husbands similar experiences. She doesn’t really want a relationship but can’t fight her attraction to Jake. I loved reading this book and can’t wait to read more by Sharon Sala.
I loved this book. I love everything Sharon Sala has written. This is a story about two people who have problems. And the hero has PTSD and the heroine was the wife of a soldier who had PTSD. I won’t say anything else or I would be giving away the story! Just enjoy!
This book is part of the Blessing series by Sharon Sala. The main characters in this story have both had dealings with the Midwest conflict and its aftermath. The female character lost her husband due to suicide after his return form the war. The male character is back from the war and trying to piece his life back together. Throw in some rather hateful in-laws, creepy guy who want to stalk the female and a small child and you have a very interesting plot.
3.5 Blessings Stars. This is the third book in the Blessings, GA series by Sharon Sala. It took me just a little longer to really get into this one that the previous two books. Blessings, GA is still as quaint and quirky as ever, filled with friends and family that are typical in any small town. This one focuses on Jake, who has just come home from Afghanistan after suffering injuries in an IED explosion, and Laurel, whose husband returned home from war only to kill himself. Laurel is determined not to get mixed up with another vet suffering PTSD; she doesn’t have the time or the heart for it. She’s got to concentrate on raising her six-year-old daughter, Bonnie. Bonnie is the star of the story in many ways. Saving Jake is as much about saving Laurel as it is about saving Jake. I love this little town and all the people who call it home!
Book 3 in the “Blessings” series was a success, I had a hard time putting it down just like the others. The star of the book was little Bonnie Carol, she will steal your hear, make you laugh and make you want to cry.
I’ve read several books in this series and have really come to love the little town of Blessings. The residents are mostly friendly (have to have some “bad” characters), go out of their way to help each other, and even fall in love with each other.
This book throws together Jake Lorde, former military suffering from PTSD, and Laurel Payne, widow & mother that has had a hard time herself the past few years. While they may not seem like a likely couple, there is something that attracts the other to them. And while their relationship seems to blossom overnight, it isn’t easy and they each had some things to overcome.
I liked Jake’s protective side because that really helps both of them out. And Laurel, while ostracized from her in-laws after his death, manages to overcome and survive without their support. I felt like all of the characters were down to earth and the book has some sad situations but a happy ending.
Can’t wait to see what is next for the town of Blessings. I have an idea, but we’ll see if that is the next story or a future one
Loved the book. Great plot.
Sharon Sala did a series five or six books…I have them all but the last one…Jake is home from war…with PTSD…and the lady is a single mother her husband was in the war also…but he didn’t handle it so well…daughter is Bonnie( six ) she’s precious…check out the series…doesn’t have to be read in order..
I love the Blessings books from Sharon Sala and this one lived up to expectations. Some of the lovable Blessings characters return – Ruby, Peanut – and new ones come to heal. Looking forward to #5.
I have not read any of Sala’s books that I have not really liked. I fine them to be extremely entertaining.
It was suspense about murder in accounting firm and a missing pregnant lady, her another pregnant friend investigates and suspense in finding mother and son involved
Sharon Sala never disappoints!
The Blessings, GA series by Sharon Sala has been such a fun read, and this installment is not exception. Jake is just back from the Marines where he was deployed several times. She was a widow with a little daughter whose husband committed suicide after coming home from deployment. This is a sweet emotional love story and I enjoyed it very much!
good book . easy to read .
