Someone was watching her. Evie gripped her keys and glanced around.
Across the alley, a pair of luminous green eyes stared at her from the shadows.
Her heart kicked into a gallop. “Jace? Is that you?”
Please let it be him.
He stepped out of the shadows. She blew out a breath. It was Jace.
He crossed the alley in a few long, loose strides. An atavistic tremor went down her spine. This was the real Jace—and he was nothing like the injured, feverish victim of last week. No, this man was dark. Powerful. Raw-boned. A panther in a T-shirt and jeans.
She squared her shoulders and lifted her chin, because damn it, she’d saved the man’s life. She refused to let him spook her.
He stopped a few feet away. “Hello, Evie.”
He was bigger than she remembered, but then, last week he’d been hunched over nursing his injuries. Now she realized he was a good half foot taller than her with the lean, hard build of a soldier. Another shiver went down her spine—but this one had nothing to do with fear.
THE FADA.
Shapeshifters created during Dionysus’s infamous bacchanals.
They’re dark, ruthless, untamed—and when they love, it’s forever.

Very good book. I couldn’t put it down.
Really cool how regardless if this is the first read or not, plot points are woven into the whole story. So things are effortlessly explained about fae and shifters and rules and normal base knowledge things you get usually from the beginning of a series. But within each book ensuring a semi stand alone appearance. Jace and Evie are drawn to geyser from the start. And despite many foe they lean on each other, work together and work towards their HEA. Love how Jace includes Kyler within the decisions.
This is my first Rebecca Rivard book and it didn’t disappoint! Although it took a little while for me to get oriented with the Fada shapeshifter world, I was hooked once it all came together. Loved the blending of fae and shapeshifter lore, and the characters were all wonderful and relatable. Adric is my favorite, of course! Gotta love those alphas. 😉 And I really enjoyed how Evie and Jace’s relationship bloomed.
Definitely will be picking up the next book in this series!
Although this is another shifter story.. It’s an excellent story.. It is not just another male sees female Blah! Blah! Blah! I’ll say it again, It is an excellent story.. Or should I say series, because there is more and I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!!
Loved these books
WOW! I love the Fada world that Ms. Rivard has created. The storylines are intriguing, and the characters have great chemistry. I was drawn to the connection between Jace and Evie. I wasn’t sure who was the strongest in this read, Jace or Evie. Sometimes, emotional strength can be stronger than brut strength. This story is a treat for the senses: suspense, struggles, passion, and steam. Loved it!
If you haven’t read the previous stories it takes a bit to understand the dynamics of the groups. Once I got it, the adventure was exciting.
Wonderful book. Love the magic and fantasy is well done. Love it

Jace is a black panther shifter and lost his family years ago. The only one left is his niece and she was adopted. When he is injured, he ends up in the yard of Evie, a human. Evie is raising her brother, working two jobs, and studying to be a nurse when she finds an injured man by her door. She knows he’s
fada, a shifter with a little of fae blood, and tries to save him. But Jace has brought his enemies to her door so he takes her and his brother back to his den. He believes fada and humans don’t mix but something draws her to him. When Evie and Jace are take by the evil night fae, they’ll have to figure out how to defeat him.
Action, shifters, and steamy sex. Confused me a bit at first but couldn’t put it down. First time reading this author but will be checking her other stories out.
Great paranormal romance, loved all the characters.
Loved being drawn into the shapeshifter world of the fada. Jace was a nice big hearted panther born to protect. Evie is a human with unknown fae blood with a nurturing nature.
Their journey is riddled with danger from inside and outside forces. The story steamy and very easy to read.
Loved the story line
I couldn’t stop reading it! It was really good.
Great shifter book, with heart and family at its core. I so enjoy these novels they take me away from my stress at work & live, enabling me to relax. Easy read and so creative!
Freebie Nov 2019
This is book 4 in the Fada Shapeshifters series and I have NOT read the other three previous books. However, enough was filled in, explained and talked about for me to not have missed anything reading this. It does, however, make me want to go back and read them, just to fill in what I WANT to know about The Darktime, rather than what I NEED to know.
And this book is a prime example for why you SHOULD read the freebie books as you get them! I bloody LOVED this book!
Jace is second in command for the Baltimore Earth Fada Clan and spends his time rebuilding after The Darktime. Evie is just trying to do her best for her younger brother, but really she is just fluffing it. Finding the naked, bleeding man on her doorstep really is the icing on the cake. When Jace returns and tells her she is in danger and needs to come home with him, strangely, she doesn’t fight him on this, only that her brother comes too. Things get complicated between Jace and Evie when they find she has Fae blood, and when the vampires reveal they can walk in the daylight, and when the vampire prince reveals his true purpose for wanting Evie? Jace loses his shit. They might not get out of this alive, so he should just admit how he feels, right?
This book was just brilliant!
I loved the fact that the mating thing, that MINE moment you usually get with shifters, come very late in the book. Loved that it really does take time for Jace and Evie to come together. Loved that other people have a say too!
Like I said, book 4. I was a little wary going in, even though it did say can be read totally as a stand alone, you can never be too sure what exactly that means for YOU, but I need not have been. I felt I was given enough back story, enough explanation about the Fada and the Fae and the vampires and how they all fit together in the bigger picture.
And the bigger picture is still not totally clear, what with everything going on. That’s not cos I didn’t read the other books though, that because it hasn’t been revealed yet! There is stuff going on with Jace’s niece. With Aldric, the Alpha of the Clan. With Aldric’s sister. With the vampires and with the other Shapeshifter Clans too. I wonder where Evie’s younger, human brother fits in to everything too. And I love that! I love being kept on my toes!
This is the first I have read of this author and by gosh it will NOT be the last! I will be reading the first three books, and the other books that come after this one!
For a freebie, (cos Lord knows I’ve been dealt some really, rather rubbish freebie books!) and since it is not the first in series, this book was a total, utter, bloody brilliant surprise!

I liked it for the most part. Less time i the characters heads would be good less telling and more showing. I liked the characters but they need a bit more oomph. I actually rate 3.5 stars but am rating up rather than down because I might entertain getting the next book. The number of bad guys gets a bit confusing I found myself saying which one is this one again?
I loved this sexy shifter romance!
Jace Jones still feels the guilt of not having to protected his sister all those years ago, because of his misplaced prejudices regarding her chosen mate The only thing that keeps him sane is the knowledge that he still has Takiro’s daughter, his niece whom he sees on a regular basis. She was found and adopted by the Water Fada Alpha after her father Silver illegitimate son of the Dark Fae Prince was killed and is loved as their own. She turned out to be a Black Cougar Earth Fada like her mother and him.
On one of his visits close to where his niece lives, he is attacked and finds himself saved and in the arms of an angel Evie Morningstar. Worst is that his beast is purring in her presence which is a bad thing since he swore to never mate a human. Now his Alpha is giving even more disturbing information about his human.
Evie Morningstar is in for some very surprising information about her progeny.
Good story. Moves a little bit slowly. Mostly due to repeation in characters self musings. Like many books recently I found myself yelling, just tell them already, communicate!”
