A tortured soul meets a shattered heart…Chloe Hicks’ life consisted of an egocentric ex-husband, a pile of bills, and an equine business in foreclosure until a fire destroys the stable and her beloved ranch horse. What little hope she has left is smashed after the marshal suspects arson. She escapes the accusing eyes of her hometown, but not the memories and melancholy. Jackson Hahn, Virginia … melancholy.
Jackson Hahn, Virginia Beach’s local historian, has his eyes on the mysterious new woman in town. When she enters his office, he is struck by her haunting beauty and the raw pain in her eyes. Her descriptions of the odd events happening in her bungalow pique his curiosity.
The sexy historian distracts Chloe with the legend of a woman wrongly accused of witchcraft. She is drawn to the story and the similarities of events that plagued their lives. Perhaps the past can help heal the present. But danger lurks in the shadows…

Saving Grace by Aubrey Wynne is book one of Enchanted Keepsakes series. It is a very shot book, but has a lot of stuff crammed in on those pages. I don’t say this as a bad thing. You actually are getting dual stories. The 2nd part of the story is taken from the history books.
Present day, Divorcee Chloe Hicks is trying to get on with her life and started a horse stable in Shawneetown Illinois. With just her trainer, her mother, and herself they are on the brink of making a profit, when in the middle of the night the barn mysteriously catches fire. After loosing her favorite horse, herself and her trainer almost loosing their life, her abusive ex-husband shows back up. When Chloe refuses to step back into that situation her ex starts spreading rumors. Chloe’s Mom thinks she needs to get away for a while. So she heads off to Virginia Beach for some R & R.
Grace Sherwood “The witch of Pungo” Is a true story. It really happened in the 1700’s in Colonial Virginia. Grace lived in the small town of Pungo Virginia. In 1706 she was accused and convicted of being a witch. She had a trial and was sentenced to what was called a docking. The person would be cross tied, right thumb to left big toe and left thumb to right big toe. If the person floated they were deemed a witch, if they drowned they were innocent. Grace was able to get a hand free and did not drown. She was tossed under twice and survived. She was then jailed. She was released around 1714, and died in 1740. There are statues of her in Virginia to this day. She was also pardoned in 2006 on the 300th anniversary of her docking by the Virginia State Governor Timothy Kaine.
When Chloe arrives in Virginia Beach, strange things happen. She sees a lady in Colonial clothing, she is covered one night with a blanket, things along those lines. But when her Ex shows up with a gun the true help comes from the Afterlife as Grace helps Chloe escape certain death.
The Audiobook is narrated by Sara K. Sheckells. I felt she done and excellent job with this book. She kept my attention and kept the story line flowing nicely. I enjoyed the voices for the different characters. And the feeling she gave parts of the story was awesome. I will be looking for more books narrated by her.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Aubrey Wynne. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
A sweet story of two women from two entirely different centuries fighting for the things they love. Grace and Chloe share a common pain, they were both wronged and stripped of the things they held valuable. Both of these women inspired me with their strength, determination, and loyalty. Saving Grace had me holding my breath until the end and sighing in satisfaction. Aubrey Wynne has created yet another masterpiece in which the past and the present are weaved beautifully together
A really good story line that’s captivating. Strong and well developed characters that are realistic. A great read for your summer evenings.

This is an excellent book. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It was very well written with excellent characters. Correlating the past and present is very well done. Interesting how witchcraft was viewed. I highly recommend this book.
Book one in the Enchanted Keepsakes series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I liked the verses at the beginning of the chapters. Jackson Hahn Virginia Beach’s local historian and divorcee Chloe Hicks look into what really happened to Grace Sherwood three hundred years ago. There is suspense, drama, danger, arson, an evil ex, a ghost, and two people coming together as friends. I found it to be an emotional story. This story takes place in two time period, 1705 and 2006. It’s about Grace Sherwood who was convicted of witchcraft, survived a ducking and spent seven years in jail. In 2006, Chloe runs from her ex-husband who tried to burn down her business. She meets Jackson after buying what was called a witch’s ball from a Enchanted Keepsake shop. There’s a saying that if something catches your eye and you buy it there it will lead you to your true love. This is the day that she meets Jackson. The story meshes the story of Grace and Chloe together. The climax is exciting and very dramatic. I enjoyed this story very much.
Captivating two stories past and present with historical facts in the storyline, engaging strong characters. A well-written book, I liked reading it. It was a pleasured review it.

This is fascinating, sweet, eerie and cool. Chloe is determined, strong, brave and caring. Jackson is sweet, considerate and charming. Grace is strong, vulnerable, naive and caring. In 2006 Chloe is dealing with a stalker ex while trying to get a horse business going. When her barn burns down and her ex starts telling people that she was under suspicion for she leaves the area temporarily. She finally gets to meet Jakson, who she’s heard of through her best friend, and there’s a spark and magnetic pull between them. In in 1706 Grace is tried as a witch after being accused of causing harm to her neighbors. Her ghost is still in the area, Chloe sees her and feels her presence. Grace looks after Chloe, putting things out of the way and covering her with a blanket. Jacksonand Chloe look into Grace’s life after they figure out who she is, and try to help her move on. The end of the book is dramatic and thrilling. I loved everything about the book, except for the ex husband.

February 2006, Chloe bolted up in bed, frightened by a dream – no, not a dream! She smelled smoke and ran toward the barn! Paul, her trainer and business partner, met her at the barn as they tried to save the horses. As Paul is injured, kicked in the head by a frightened horse, and she drags him from the burning stall with her last remaining strength, she collapses but sees the face of her ex-husband standing over her! How did he get there so quickly??
Chloe’s ex-husband, Mike Hatchette, had been stalking her for three years. She heard his voice as she was waking in the hospital, but she kept her eyes closed. He was bullying the doctor, telling him how they were trying to work out their problems and get back together, as he roughly held onto her injured arm. Exhaustion overtaking her, she fell back to sleep.
Dottie Hicks stood by her daughter’s bed and comforted her. Dottie told her Paul had survived. He had a concussion and fractured skull, but he was going to make it. The surviving horses were gathered and neighbors were caring for them. But days later, Fire Chief Young paid her an official visit at the hospital. The fire had been arson and the insurance company would not release any checks to rebuild until the arsonist was found. This would put her out of business.
To be expected, rumors surface and some people think Chloe had something to do with the fire. To escape the immediate pressure, she heads for Virginia Beach. Even there, she cannot find peace, however. When strange things happen, she goes to Jackson Hahn, Virginia Beach’s local historian, for possible help. When she describes the odd occurrences in her bungalow, he becomes curious and tells her of a woman who endured similar events. Could history be repeating? Could knowledge of the past fix the present? Or could the intervention of a ghost save Chloe from the danger she doesn’t see?
Great story with some very likable characters, as well some not so nice! The mystery draws the reader in, seeing Chloe suffering for something she did not do and losing everything. The paranormal touch is perfect and again keeps the reader invested in the outcome. Grab your copy and help solve the mystery! What does the future hold for Chloe?
There are so many aspects to this story – a little bit of history, a ghost, a tragic fire that leaves two people injured and one horse killed, an unhinged ex, and a sexy historian. In the beginning I wasn’t sure how the dual stories (one set in 1706 and the other in 2006) were going to tie together. But as the stories progressed, I was appreciated how the author told the two stories and then wove them together. While I’ve enjoyed all of this authors books that I’ve read, this is my favorite so far.
Superior characters, a wonderfully entertaining plot and a setting that makes you want to visit – this book has it all. A wonderful complex romance with intrigue and adventure in abundance. I was enticed and entertained from page one, onwards. The five stars is easily given as this book was awesome.
Dante’s Gift – I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Well written with a conversational style, this interesting story blended the past with the present creating a heartwarming, loving feeling. The characters are funny, likable and realistic, along with their dialog. The storylines meshed together immersing the reader and too quickly the end appeared. A quickly read, relaxing book. Clean with no profanity. Needs minor editing. 4*
Saving Grace – This is my first read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed this story. Well written and intriguing, a good historical background well blended with the present immerses the reader deep into the pages. There’s a touch of magic bringing a fantasy element to the story, which adds a richness to an already lovely story. The parallels between Chloe and Grace are similar even though there’s 300 years between them; prejudice and hatred still exist. Korinna’s story and her part in this story adds to the magic. Even with the dark, the light shines through and too soon the story is finished. Clean with no profanity. Needs minor editing. 4*
I liked this book. The story was beautifully written and flowed beautifully. The characters were well defined within the story and they had such great chemistry. I loved the ending. If you like the works of this wonderful author, then this book is must-read.
