From Whitney Award Winning Author, Michele Paige Holmes, comes SAVING GRACE, a regency romance from the Hearthfire Romance series:
After the death of her grandfather, the Duke of Salisbury, Grace Thatcher wants nothing more than to live quietly in the country with her younger siblings. Her father’s debts thwart those plans, and to protect her sister, Helen, Grace must marry a man of her father’s … Helen, Grace must marry a man of her father’s choosing.
As each suitor proves less than desirable, Grace comes up with clever schemes, causing each to reject her. While staying at the mysterious Sutherland Hall, a middle-of-the-night mishap sends Grace into the arms of a stranger, Nicholas Sutherland — and provides inspiration for her grandest plan yet — one that will leave her reputation in tatters yet free both her and Helen from all possibility of marriage.
Too late Grace regrets her rash actions when her father’s last choice, Mr. Samuel Preston, proves to be a gentleman and a friend. But Samuel is the sworn enemy of Nicholas Sutherland, the man responsible for her “ruin.” Now instead of being free, Grace is caught between two men — each with his own agenda.

This book was sweet and we’ll written with just enough sass to keep me interested. It is a fun and fast read.
I liked this book very much. It was what I would categorize as “Sweet and Clean”. It kept my attention and I liked the characters.
This is the first I’ve read by this and I was quite impressed. The storyline is uncommon and well written.
This story reminded me of Seeking Persephone by Sarah M. Eden and The Stranger She Married by Donna Hatch, but of course it has its own twists and turns that make it a story worth reading- especially if you enjoy a Regency England setting and the marriage of convenience trope. I enjoyed the characters and the conflicts that had to be resolved as the story progressed and relationships grew complex.
This was a nice clean read. But there were so many misunderstandings between the hero and heroine, a little bit overdone. Three steps forward and two steps back until the end.
Really loved Grace , she was a true “lady” who taught others how to live with grace. She made this lonely empty house into a warm home. Good read.
Not your typical love story. It involved intrigue, somewhat mystery and tons of emotion. Left me tearful at the end. Beautifully writtrn
Not at all good. Poor character development Maybe it got better, but I couldn’t read past the fIrst third of the book.
II enjoyed the book and the ending with Nicholas and Grace.
I thought this was entertaining but not enough to purchase the sequels.
It’s ok. Not that interesting.
I loved it, was sad when I was thru reading. Looking forward to the next 2 books in the series.
It was so boring and poorly written that I couldn’t get past page 9, so I guess I’m not really able to give an overall review considering I couldn’t read the book.
Liked this book.
This was easy to read for anyone liking a romantic page turner, Full of surprises and a fast read
Good entertainment
I enjoyed this book.
A little different story line than the usual regency.
Somewhat laborious reading but enjoyed humor evident in Grace’s schemes to dissuade her suitors. Admired her spirit, restraint patience in dealing with Nicholas and his uppity mother, Lady Sutherland.
Good read.
