Sparks fly like snowflakes when a klutzy but gorgeous novice crosses skis with a hot resort owner in this tempting tie-in to New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby’s popular Love Under the Big Sky series Grace Douglas is on a practice run for her friend Cara Donovan’s bachelorette party ski weekend in Aspen. The problem is, despite living in rugged and picturesque Cunningham Falls, … Cunningham Falls, Montana, Grace is the clumsiest person ever born. To prepare for the trip, she is taking lessons at a local ski resort. She just prays that they have an ambulance on standby.
Sexy hotelier Jacob Berkley is ready to play ski instructor, but he quickly discovers that the best place on the mountain for Grace is in the lodge with a hot toddy. Her sense of humor and easy laugh quickly pull him in, and soon he’s determined to help her get off the bunny slope for a fun vacation with her friends. He just didn’t expect their steamy chemistry to trigger an avalanche of desire straight to his heart.more
This is a quick read, but so so fun! I absolutely loved getting introduced to Grace and Jacob in Saving Grace! It connects nicely with Kristen Proby’s Love Under the Big Sky series (although you don’t have to have read that series to read this). I definitely recommend!
4.5 stars
Short, sexy, sweet, romantic…this story is all those things. I read this one after book 3, Falling for Jillian, but it really belongs before that book and after Seducing Lauren. But, quite honestly, I didn’t feel it ruined this story to read it out of order. Grace and Jacob are not deeply entrenched in the other stories.
Grace is so adorable. She knows her own limitations but is willing to push those limits for those she cares about. Jacob is patient and caring and sexy. Put them together and sparks fly.
I’m glad to find this author’s short works as amazing as her full length books.

Loved this novella by Kristen Proby. It is a short sort of insta love type of book, but it is enjoyable nonetheless. I don’t feel as if you have to read the other books in the series to enjoy this short read. No real angst…just a breath of fresh air. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
Grace Douglas naturally assumed her friends were planning a weekend at a trendy island resort for a girls only getaway, for her friends Bachelorette party, and boy was she wrong. Instead of fun in the sun on a sandy beach, they would be staying at a trendy mountain resort surrounded by snow, and ski slopes. It was the last thing she would voluntarily sign herself up for, which is why her friends have chosen to band together and guilt her into going. Knowing that she doesn’t know how to ski, they figure the best way to make her comfortable with this whole situation is to sign her up for ski lessons. They have her best interests at heart, and all think she is in desperate need of some fun, and hope that some fun on the slopes may lead to a opportunity for her to find a little romance too…
Jacob Berkley has recently purchased a trendy mountain resort and is quite pleased with its success so far, and is willing to make sure his guests are treated to the best service possible. While doing his morning rounds he is mistaken for a ski instructor by one of his guests, and while he shouldn’t mislead her, he just isn’t quite ready to correct her. Something about her intrigues him, so he decides spending one day on the slopes with her can’t hurt…
This short, but oh so sweet and charming story captivated my attention right from the start and held on tight until the very end. It was a very enjoyable read that had me smiling and blushing the whole way through! Ms. Proby has another hit on her hands with this one!
