Grace Riley is on the run—from her past and from her fears. The victim of a violent rape at the hands of a rich politician’s son, she must “disappear” to escape his constant attempts to recapture her. Moving from cattle drive to cattle drive as a cook, she avoids her tormentor for nearly twenty years. When she discovers that the brother she gave up for adoption after their mother died in … childbirth was orphaned at an early age, she is frantic to verify that he’s safe. She tracks him to a cattle ranch in Montana.
Widower Adam Morgan owns the Twin Springs ranch, but finds himself falling into a life of loneliness. Although he enjoys spending time with his grown daughter and the two men he rescued when they were living on the streets, he longs to meet a woman he can love. Living in the Montana territory where men greatly outnumber women makes finding a new wife difficult. Weary of working cattle, he is ready to make some changes in his life.
Grace falls ill on her journey, but she manages to make it to the Twin Springs ranch where her brother is supposed to be living. Adam takes her in, concerned for her health and the reason she’s searching for one of his adopted sons. Their chemistry is immediate and intense, but can Grace heal from her past of pain and fear? When her secrets are finally revealed, can Adam forgive her deceptions and learn to love again?

I throughly enjoyed this book. The plot was great. Grace’s story was complicated and touching. I love how the author made her character so strong. Adam and his family’s support helped Grace through her issues. I would read books from this author again.
Story was OK but predictable; should have been more condensed. Many phrases were cliche’
Better than I thought it would be…
Unpredictable ending
Plot line was silly and I ended up ending my reading at 33%. I wanted it to be good, but it wasn’t.
Enjoyed the storyline
This book has many great moments of action, romance, fear, danger, and all smoothed over with a genuine love and a man to protect Grace. The love that Grace showed for her family, even at a young age was so selfless to the point of risking her own life. Adam was destined to be her protector and hopefully her husband if only she can trust him with …
Very good book
Great story. Could have done without the sex scenes.
It was light and easy to read, I found I could not put it down. There were some parts that were not to my taste, but that’s personal taste.
A delightful read. Enjoyed the characters. And the story line kept me turning the pages. Yes would recommend this book.
A lot of different stories and how they all intertwine
I liked the added touch of Shakespeare !
Easy read
I really enjoyed this book and will read more by Sandy James. She had me hooked from the beginning!
I really enjoyed reading this book.
I loved this story. Grace is so and Adam are a perfect pair. This story is just the kind I needed to read, lots of hope, good over evil, neighbor being there for neighbor. Small town, western living at its best.
I recommend this story to everyone.
I found this book to be well worth the time. It is full of steamy romance and wonderful bits of wisdom. I highly recommend this book. Looking for more of Sandy James books to read.
Too short, not enough character development.
It’s an okay book. Grace should have been honest from the start of her feeling with Adam.
