A fairytale love story full of suspense, worry, fear, and love. The kind of love that is more than just between a husband and wife, but the type of love needed to be shared as a family, including a small baby that was not his. The love that Kara had held for Warren all these years finally came true. And with the love he held for Kara, he also had fallen madly in love with her son Aiden. This is a really good custody feud that did not just play out in court. It is highly suspenseful and you will definitely be hanging onto the hope everyone lives. I had to read it from beginning to end as there was no place I felt I could possibly put it down!
Warren and Kara’s story seemed unbelievable to me, especially given she has been neglected/abused by her ex-husband, and now has an infant son, Aiden, to protect from him. At first the story moved along as I expected; Kara trying to care for her son and keep him out of sight from her ex-husband. When the ex-husband finds out about his son, demands a paternity test, and threatens Kara, Billionaire Warren and his sister, Em, step in to help Kara escape and protect her son. Readers know that Warren has a crush on Kara, and suddenly Warren arranges a marriage of convenience within 24 hours and a honeymoon escape to Cabo. In the five days it takes to get to Cabo, Kara rebuffs Warren then realizes she loves Warren. Really? I guess I find Kara’s character wishy-washy; except for her devotion to her son. And at first Warren seems to have the right attitude toward the relationship, showing kindness and self-control, and out of the blue he gives in to Kara’s sudden declaration of affection. For me, the storyline itself was moving way to fast for the legal situation to play out. Aiden is the cutie in the story, doing exactly what babies do; eat, sleep, poop, and play. This is not a bad story, but just not as well written as the other stories in the Rich and Famous series.
A very short story, with a quick resolution.
A delightful read. Ms. Pennington creates believable billionaire tales.
Kara was in hiding; hiding from ex-husband. Scared of what Derrick might do if he found out they had a child together, Kara had been in hiding following their divorce. Her son is now six months old, and Derrick appears and tells her he wants to meet his son. She remembers a promise that her friend, Warren, made to her on her wedding day. If she ever needed help, he would do anything for her. Boy, did she need Warren’s help now!
Warren realized too late that he loved Kara and didn’t do anything to stop her marriage to Derrick, even though he suspected that he wasn’t a good man and certainly undeserving of Kara’s love. When he found out that Kara needed his help, he dropped everything and in trying to protect her and her son, he offered to marry her to keep them safe. Would it be possible to protect them from a criminal element that was determined to take Aiden away? Would he finally be able to have the family he had always dreamed of?
This was a sweet, clean romance about second chances. The story was a quick read and had suspense, attempted kidnapping, and romance to balance out the story. I was given an arc and I offer my honest review willingly.
Who doesn’t want to be saved by a handsome man? If he’s a billionaire, so much the better. I loved this story of jetting around the world and honeymooning on a yacht. Warren is strong and brave and every woman’s dream. A nice read for a Saturday afternoon.
I love reading anything Michelle Pennington writes and own just about all of her books!
I dropped what I was reading to start this story and I really enjoyed it. It’s a quick, clean and swoon worthy read.
A totally preposterous premise, which is what made it so enjoyable. I was left wanting just a tiny little bit more character development but overall really loved this book!
This is a wonderful story with a refreshing new twist on the marriage-of-convenience trope. There’s danger with some action, wonderful romance, and real-life situations. The characters include an evil ex-husband, a devoted billionaire, a stressed-out mom, a cute baby, and two wonderful bodyguards. The baby is the catalyst and the glue to the storyline. Well done, Michelle Pennington, for writing a story that all moms can relate to while escaping reality at the same time!
I received an eARC. This is my honest and voluntary review.
