He saved her life…she saved his soul.Garrett Hawkins is the most valuable asset to his Special Forces unit, because, frankly, the guy doesn’t care if he lives or dies anymore. Since the love of his life, Sage Weston, was kidnapped and killed with her medical unit a year ago, Garrett has turned the shell of his soul into the armor of a finely tuned fighting machine. Being the first tapped for the … tapped for the unit’s craziest missions is just fine by him. The less time for memories and the agony they carve into his soul, the better.
It’s a plan that works, until Garrett’s world is upended one night in the jungles of Thailand. Memories become reality when the unit is called to rescue a group of kidnapped aid workers, and they discover Sage and her teammate among the retrieved women. Now that Sage is back in his arms, Garrett doesn’t know what to do. He has changed in dramatic ways, especially in the darker tastes of his passion. If he touches Sage again, he’ll want to claim her, restrain her…dominate her.
Is Sage’s love strong enough to let Garrett back in, not only as her fiancé but her Dominant? Can she trust that visiting the new shadows of his life will lead her to ecstasy and not ruin? Or can Garrett’s discipline be exactly what her soul needs to find its way back to life—and love—again?

LOVE this!
This is a book that holds true to its name. Saved. That is exactly what Sage and Garrett did for each other.
Sage ended up in the worst situation imaginable. Garret saved her life. Literally.
Garrett struggles daily with coming to terms with a lifestyle that he doesn’t think he wants. That is until Sage opens up to him, completely.
This story shows just how far these two lovers are willing to go for each other both physically and emotionally. It is a story of love, loss, heartbreak and reconnecting.
And that ending!!!!! Wow!
*I received a copy of Saved from Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review*
First off you should know this is book was previously released under the title of Saved by his Submissive in 2014 but now it has a new name and cover. Saved by Angel Payne is the first book is her Wild Boys series.
I hate to admit it but this book was a miss for me completely but it’s mostly because that you’d think after 400+ days as a Human Sex trafficking hostage there would be more said about therapy after her ordeal and a doctor’s exam. But nope it’s just jump in bed with her boyfriend and ask for sex. While I have read BDSM in the past and loved it this just book wasn’t my cup of tea
Garrett is a Special Forces soldier mourning the loss of his fiancee and he’s turned to booze to forget which worries his team of how well he can do his job. Imagine his surprise when they raid a sec slave auction and find both Rayna and Sage among the women being held. Sage was in the kidnapped when her caravan was attacked by soldiers wanting only one thing sex slaves. Both Rayna and Sage manage to stay alive being bought and sold but staying together.
Once rescued Sage immediately wants to go to bed with Garret but he decides this isn’t the time. But King escapes and suddenly turns up wanting to kidnap the girls again but Garrett’s team doesn’t tell them that King is back. I just couldn’t get into the book beyond this.
I give Saved a 2.8 star rating but it just wasn’t the book for me.
Angel Payne is a relatively new author to me so when I saw she had a new series coming out it was the perfect opportunity to start at the beginning rather than playing catch up. The plot and the characters intrigued me and this book didn’t disappoint what a great start to a new series. Garrett and Sage both have demons and both are tested to their limits in Saved, I was captivated from the first chapter, I loved all of the characters and what can I say about the love and passion Garrett and Sage shared about from it was hot. Looking forward to the next in the series
I hadn’t read the blurb on this one and was surprised and thrilled at this story.
Saved by Angel Payne is much more than your steamy, hot, super hot (did I already say that?) love/lust story. There is so much pain in this story and while BDSM plays a part, the emotional pain is excruciating to read and to feel. Angel does a great job at putting us in the story and feeling what each of these characters is feeling with neither of them having the ability to express it…at least not fully.
Sage and Garrett’s love story spans a year of amazing torture and loss. It is unclear whether they will ever be able to get back to where they were and if they can, how different will their lives me. There is suspense in this story to keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.
