Second Chance RomanceEllie ~ Dancing was my life. I gave up everything, including my perfect boyfriend, to make it my priority until one day years later I realized I was homesick and alone. With dancing no longer an option, returning home was my only choice. They say everything happens for a reason, and when a new opportunity suddenly falls in my lap, I think maybe this fresh start is exactly … maybe this fresh start is exactly what I need.
Holden ~ Six years ago she pushed me away, claiming we needed to find ourselves though I was content to love her just as we were. Life happens and I moved on with mine, but I never got over the girl who got away. She’s suddenly returned to start a new chapter in her life and although she is still pushing me away, this time I’m not letting her go.

A sweet and innocent second chance romance. She went to live her dancing dreams only to come home to her first love. It was super sweet. I felt like it could have used some drama and then I got some. Want to know more of what’s up with Layne and Clarke
This was a fantastic heartwarming story of second chances and self discovering. Ellie left home and her boyfriend to pursue her dreams of dancing. Holden has moved on with his life but was never able to forget his first and only love. Now six years later Ellie is back and reunited with the boy she left behind. Holden sees this as his chance to fix the past and he’s mature enough to not walk away again. Save This Dance is a captivating must read that readers will fall in with and won’t want to put down. I really loved this new book from Brooke Parker.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I’m not a big contemporary romance reader but, once in a while, I will dip back into the pool when the mood strikes me. The mood struck me so I picked up the A Day By Day Series by Brooke Parker for a quick indulgence.
Save This dance, the first in this series, is a second chance romantic story about Ellie and Holden. Six years ago, Ellie abruptly left Holden, to pursue her life dream of dancing. Things don’t go as planned and, six years later, Ellie finds herself returning home. It’s a small town and of course, their paths were eventually going to cross. Sparks are still there on both sides, and this time, Holden is going to let go.
Ahhhh second chance romances, you just have to love them, especially when they are cute and sweet. And that is exactly what this book was – cute and sweet. No terrible drama or heartache, which I kind of expected at least from Holden. The love of his life, his one true love, tells him they need to find themselves and takes off. She comes back and he’s not even a teensy bit resentful? Okay I get it, second chance story means a HEA that rides off in the sunset. But still…
That aside, Save This Dance was a fun quick read. The secondary characters made it even more entertaining and it is easy to see where the other books in the series will be headed. I expect the close relationships between all the characters will mean we will see more or Ellie and Holden in the future. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys easy, sweet romance stories.
I received this book from SBR for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine.
Stars – 3.5
Ellie is a dancer. After high school she left to follow her dreams in New York. Six years later and after a break up with her boyfriend, she returns home. I loved the advise her mom gives her. Both her parents are supportive. Things with her back home start to fall into place. Six years ago when she left, she also left Holden. Holden is her brother’s friend so there is no way she can avoid him. Their connection is still there. This time around they take it slow and their relationship slowly reforms. I loved Ellie. She is strong character. Holden was nice and sweet. These two are great together. The ending hooked me into wanting to read book two.
I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the great character and storyline development that kept me totally glued to my kindle until the very last page!
Here’s the thing – I actually liked this story very much. And the reason I’m giving it a -4* is due to the fact that I kept missing something. I wanted some more to happen. Don’t get me wrong I loved the second chance that Ellie and Holden got. I loved how they effortlessly fell into each other’s arms. I liked that there wasn’t much drama and that they both agreed that they needed those 6 years apart to grow as a person and finally see that they have always meant to be. And maybe that’s the problem I had with this story. I think I needed Holden to be a bit mad that she left him behind. I really liked the side characters and the indication that we’re in for a fun ride with this group. I excited to see how the next couple works his problems out. It’s going to be a bumpy ride I can tell.

Sweet second chance romance
This story melted my heart. I love a good second chance at love. This story did not disappoint. Once I started this book, I did not want to put it down!! Elle and Holden are just adorable together. They have a history, but you see their mistakes done affect their future. Holden is a true gentlemen and makes you swoon by showing how much he loves, regardless of the past. Ellie is a girl who chased her dreams, but fate had other ideas. She made me happy because you see she fulfills her dreams, just a different way than planned. I loved this book so much. It hit deep and I didn’t want it to end. The ending, well that’s for you to find out by reading this book. It’s what you least expect.
Go read this book!! Amazing author and amazing book!!!
