I loved it! It’s cute and romantic. It’s like the detox read for you to clean your paled and start fresh. Get in a groove! I like how Caroline is not blinded by shiny objects. She is just normal, down-to-earth Caroline honest and humble. She doesn’t look at Alex like a meal ticket. And all that is exactly what has him interested. She brings out the best in him without even trying. Helps him enjoy himself and think of other things other than work. Everything with them is easy going, everything flows between them even when people around them make that difficult. And hello!!! Alex is a great catch! Such a gentleman and a spoiler too. This book has a wish that was me type of story. It’s perfect!

~ 3.5 Save the Date Stars ~
Save the Date is an entertaining, easy beach read. I think this story is perfect for any romance reader who is looking for a beach read or a lazy Sunday read.
I found this story entertaining and enjoyable, but it really didn’t WOW me. It was missing something to grab onto the reader. Anyone who loves an easy read, with low angst and drama, will love this story.
Save the Date is Monica Murphy’s latest standalone novel. It is told in Dual POV. This a friends to lovers slow burn romance novel. I thought the flow and pace of the story worked well. I just wish it had a little more drama then what we saw, to keep me turning the pages.
In this book we follow Caroline and Alex’s story. They knew each other from back in middle school. Alex was actually Caroline’s brother’s best friend. They shared their first kiss all those years ago and then he just disappeared the next day without a reason. Now all these years later, Alex is back in Caroline’s life and workplace. What happens when two young kids grow up and are reunited?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this beauty read to find out.
I really enjoyed meeting the secondary characters in this story and I hope to see some of them getting their own book in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is a Monica Murphy fan. Also if you love a friends to lovers slow burn romance that has humor and a fun feeling then this is a book you don’t want to miss. It is well worth the read!!!
Save the Date shows the lighter side of Monica Murphy. I found Caroline endearing, Alex frustrating and the drama surrounding their chance meeting hard to resist. From sassy to spicy, Murphy keeps the mood light and the laughter constant. A gold standard romance that captivates the heart.
What a cute book! I just love Monica Murphy! I don’t think I really stopped smiling through most of the book. Caroline is independent. She works at a note/invitation store, who has a group of friends that all hang out together on a weekly basis. None of them have much luck in the love department. One morning, while in a hurry she rushes in to get her coffee and meets this good looking man who flirts with her. She doesn’t think anything more of it until about a half hour later when he sits down in front of her with his fiancée. Yup…no luck in the love department! Lol! Anyway, come to find out she knows him from her past.
Skipping ahead. These two end up reconnecting as friends. Alex needs someone to go to Paris with him. He asks Caroline. You’ll have to read the book to find out why?
A lot happens in Paris! I don’t want to giveaway any more. Such a fun, cute book! If your a Monica fan, you will not be disappointed!

I loved this book. The little history Alex and Caroline had was perfect. Being each others first kiss as young kids was utterly sweet. There was just enough touch of drama and heartache that it didn’t come off as overwhelming sweet. I would highly recommend this book for a good read! I will continue to read more of Monica’s books!
I usually read a book first before I listen to the audio but I didn’t do thaf with Save The Date.
The story itself is pretty hilarious but add in the narration, especially Ava Lucas, and it is just perfection. Ava nails the part of Caroline, the save the date and wedding invitation expert who falls hard for one of her grooms, who just so happens to be her childhood crush and first kiss.
I laughed so hard throught this audiobook and highly reccommend, both Ava and Jack DuPont did an awsome job on the narration and bringing this hilarious story to life!
This was such a fun story!
I fell in love instantly with the characters in the story. Alex and Caroline charmed their way into my heart quickly.
With every turn of the pages, you could feel the growing interest for one another, you can’t help but root for them. They are so good with each other, respectful and supporting. The chemistry between them burns hotter as the story goes. The connection these two share is undeniable. They are such a cute couple. And I couldn’t help but love their history together and the fast build up in their relationship.
The story has many cute moments, funny ones that had me laughing out loud, and others that were just beautiful.
Cute, swoony and fun.
Caroline Abbott is one of the best when it comes to her job of helping couples pick out save the dates and invitations for the wedding of their dreams. She also loves her job, and knows how to handle more temperamental brides, also known as bridezillas. When one bridezilla in particular comes into Noteworthy, Caroline never dreamed that this bride’s fiancé would be the boy that was her first kiss. Alex Wilder is all grown up, and seeing Caroline again reminded him of their shared kiss and how much he liked her when they were younger. When Caroline catches Alex’s fiancé in a compromising position, Alex ends up calling off his engagement. However with a business deal in the works Alex needs Caroline’s help. As the two spend time together and get reacquainted, they can’t deny the feelings that resurface. As they get to know each other again Caroline can’t help but wonder, is this the real deal or is she just a rebound for Alex?
This was such a great book, a quick and fun read, with some steamy moments thrown in for good measure. I loved the ‘meet cute’ if you will, and how this book was setup. The blurb had me intrigued when it was first released, and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I enjoy all of Monica Murphy’s books so I knew that this one would be just as wonderful as the others. I love that she writes characters who are super relatable. I appreciate when I’m reading a book, and I can relate to what the characters have dealt with or are dealing with at the same time. The way that Monica writes pulls you in from the very beginning. ‘Save the Date’ was such a fun read, with just the right amount of sass and laughter! I can only hope that this is the start of a new series!
What a wonderfully sweet, sexy, drama-filled second chance romance. Caroline has found her passion in paper; she loves helping brides find the perfect ‘save the date’ and invitations for their weddings. She never dreams that her latest client will bring Alex back into her life. Alex was her first kiss when they were kids and he was her brother’s best friend. Then he disappeared. When she sees him again, those feelings she had as a 12-year-old are still there. His fiancé is a bridezilla and when Caroline has to share something she witnessed with Alex, well, his world gets flipped. Alex is stunned to see Caroline again after all these years but it’s a welcome surprise. When he finds himself in a bind for a deal he’s trying to close, he enlists Caroline to be his fake fiancé. As they travel to Paris, will they be able to keep everything platonic? Or will those old feelings win? I had fun with their journey as they reconnected and weathered the challenges that presented. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
My favorite part of this book is how Monica Murphy surprised me. I thought this was going to be the story of a wedding stationer who falls for the groom-to-be and then has to managed their tortured interactions, kind of like that schmaltzy Jennifer Lopez movie The Wedding Planner. It turns out, though, that there is more to this book.
For one thing, Caroline knows Alex. They were each other’s first kiss, back when she was ten and he twelve. That designation cemented him in her memory (and her in his). He was always kind to her, and he had a huge crush on her.
For another thing, Alex has a professional need, something he believes only Caroline can do. This unexpected detour adds layers of conflict as well as sexual tension.
You will love Caroline and Alex. She is tougher than you might expect, and she’s also steadfastly loyal. There were several moments in this book when I felt proud of her. Alex, too, is lovable. He needs to trust his instincts a little more, but that’s a lesson he must learn. Together, they have palpable chemistry, and Monica Murphy makes the most of that with some scorching sexy times.
This is the first of an interconnected, standalone series, and I am excited to get to know Caroline’s friends and head out on adventures with them. Caroline and Alex are a tough act to follow, but I have a feeling Monica Murphy is up to that task.
