“I love everything about this book, from Gemma and Dixon’s relationship, from bouncing between the lines of fascination and often times, dislike, especially with personality clashes. But despite that, these two had chemistry from the very beginning.”
“I like how the characters are developed and the fact that they dont fall in love right away.”
“I really believe this endearing story is a must … story is a must read for anyone who loves a good romance with heart and a little twist.”
Typical love story: Girl meets boy. Girl socks boy in the face. Girl is forced to pretend boy is her fiancé.
As daughter of a man in charge of the CIA, Gemma Harrison knew her father was overprotective. She just didn’t think it went as far as assigning a man she can’t stand to be her bodyguard under the rouse of a fake marriage after receiving threats on his daughter’s life. Now she has to plan a fake wedding to a guy – okay, maybe he’s attractive and has a butterfly-inducing Southern accent – but she was only twenty years old! She wasn’t expecting to settle down so soon, especially not when she had a crush on her community college’s star athlete, Troy. Now that Agent Dixon Black is constantly with her, her dreams of making out in the backseat of Troy’s Camaro are completely ruined. Although, the more time she spends with Dixon, the more she realizes he’s not all that bad…

Save the Date by Heather C. Myers. This is an endearing stand alone romance where the main characters don’t fall in love at first. It’s got plenty of heart!

Gemma is the daughter of the head of the CIA and she doesn’t think about danger. When her dad starts getting threats on her life he arranges for her to have a bodyguard. Her bodyguard, Dixon, turns out to be a gorgeous man with a sexy southern accent. A fake engagement, a fifteen year age difference and a couple that turn out to be perfect for each other. This is an entertaining, fun, sweet quick read.
I loved this unique and fun story. The characters were awesome. Gemma and Dixon were so good together. I loved the tabooness of their relationship and couldn’t wait for them to realize they worked.

An exceptional and fun light read! It is a well written, well-developed, engaging, and consistent storyline. There is some action, suspense, and drama to hold your interest until the end. The characters are strong and have great chemistry. Definitely recommended.

I loved the whole alpha male protector mode that Dixon has for Gemma. Her life in danger, and Dixon is just the man to protect her. Her father has it all planned out, with Dixon being his most capable and trusted agent, and Gemma his most precious only child, they will pretend to be married so Gemma is protected round the clock from her dangerous stalkers.
I thought their meet cute was hilarious as she thinks Dixon is forty five instead of his thirty five, which was still fifteen years her senior.
Well written in an upbeat sort of way that kept me entertained from start to finish. Gemma is young, playful, and naïve, where Dixon is serious, brooding and focused.
I loved their opposing personalities especially when they start to fall for each other in the midst of danger. I liked the way the author had Dixon underestimating Gemma as an airhead, when she was actually quite bright.

Gemma is a typical 20-year-old college student, except that she’s being threatened because of her father’s position in the CIA. Dixon (love his name!) works for him, and is assigned to protect her. Her parents decide that they should pretend to be getting married – a little far-fetched considering their age difference. They spend tons of time together, what with planning the wedding and all. She inadvertently pushes all of his buttons when she presses him for information on his family and previous love interest. When everything is resolved and she’s finally safe, she reveals to him that she’s fallen in love with him, and he doesn’t deal with that very well. This is the time I’ve read a book from this author that’s outside her terrific hockey romances. Overall, I enjoyed the book.

I got the book for free. I RARELY leave reviews for the books I’ve read but really enjoyed this book. So much so that I read it in a 24 hour period. I appreciated the non erotic aspect of the book as well. I do like my smut but this was smutless – if that’s even a word – and still a page turner.
