Ryan comes home to Miami after being discharged from the Marines. He was wounded. He works in his father’s surf shop and really isn’t sure about the future. He is out with his brother one night when he sees Lizzy/Lizard. His best friend growing up. Except he isn’t just seeing or feeling just friendly to her now. They reconnect as friends. What he doesn’t know is that she has had more than friendly feelings for him since school. And she ends up being his physical therapist for injuries he sustained on his shoulder. Sweet, tender, steamy, touching, and, at times, sad, Logan has delivered as always. All the feels, all the heat, and a satisfying HEA. FLOVED it!!
Absolutely incredible book.
A friends to lovers story we follow Lizzy (Lizard) and Ryan (Cryin) as they reconnect after Ryan joins the marines after high school and for four years they lose touch but one night bump into each other in a bar. What starts out as friends again develops into so much more. Ryan never thought he would have these feelings for Lizzy but after what happened while on tour he can’t give her what she deserves but what he doesn’t understand is Lizzy will never turn her back on Ryan she has always been in love with him so when Ryan pushes her away it’s up to Lizzy to make him see she will always be by his side.
This book tore my heart open and had me crying it is so full of emotions it really has you gripped till the last page I couldn’t put this book down. Logan Chance is a brilliant author who no matter what he writes is always amazing. You won’t be disappointed in this book.
A sexy, heartfelt read. Absolutely loved this bestfriend to lovers military romance! Ryan and Lizzy are such a great couple.
Save Me is about a marine named Ryan, and his best friend Lizzy. Ryan is back home from serving his country due to an injury, trying to get back into civilian life. Since he was overseas he never kept in touch with his best friend. Ryan runs into Lizzy, and he “sees” her for the very first time. Lizzy always had a crush on him, realizes maybe her feelings haven’t disappeared. They pick up where they left off building back their friendship and so much more. When they get together the relationship is hot and cold. Ryan pushes her away, but yet always falls right back in. Ryan thinks he is not good enough for Lizzy, but Lizzy keeps trying to prove him wrong.
Wow, where do I start on this review. By far I think Save Me is my favorite book by Logan Chance. This one melted my heart. Being from a huge family needless to say we have a group of soldiers, and seeing them struggle to get back to civilian life is hard. Chance brought a realistic struggle to light in this book, whether they came back from serving their years or due to an injury. Some journeys are harder than others, but yet they all struggle with some of the same issues, so this really connected for me. Ryan is struggling yet, keeping up the good fight. He might go into a dark place, but his support team is right there with him. Lizzy I loved her. She knows what she wants, she fights hard, and doesn’t let go. Them together, is epic. They are hot together, but most of all is seeing their past, present, and future colliding. I highly recommend this one it was so near and dear to my heart. If you read any in this series, I pick this one for a must read.
A beautiful, sexy, heartwarming, friends-to-lovers military romance that will touch every reader’s heart. Ryan and Lizzy are such a beautiful and wonderful couple, perfect for each other. Highly recommended!
Wow…this story you can feel when you read it! Its amazingly well written. The Hero overcomes all that is stacked against him. This book is military, second chance, and friends to lovers.
This book was a short read but definitely worth it. Logan is a fairly new author to me but I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I’ve read by him and he did not disappoint with this one; in fact, I feel this is his best one yet! There was such a roller-coaster ride of emotions while reading this book I couldn’t put it down. The love between these two characters and the struggle they face was beautiful and heartfelt, that you can’t help but fall in love with them. This is a definite MUST read!
When best friends Lizzy and Ryan bump into one another after Ryan comes homes injured from being in the Marines. They easily fall back into the friend zone. However, both of them know it’s more than friends now. As they try to figure out another thing comes barreling at them and will their friendship survive?
When You Find Romance You Make It
Ryan, back from Afghanistan after four years, has a shoulder injury. Although he was in the war every day, his injury came from a football game with his friends on base. He also got a concussion from an IED explosion. Maybe this is a reason he doesn’t feel like a hero.
Now that he’s back in Florida, he is at loose ends, he doesn’t really want to work in his father’s surf board shop, and he doesn’t want to go to college.
He left his best friend Lizzy , went into the service, and never called or wrote while he was overseas. For all his jacked muscles, 6’4″ in height, and sex god body, he’s afraid. Afraid to let Lizzy see him as he really is , an insecure man who wants her love more than anything else in the world.
Lizzy for her part, is still wanting him, she sees him now, as the man for her, but she’s afraid too. She’s afraid he just sees her as a friend.
This kind of angst in a book just rips my head off. I can’t take much of it!
Luckily the author seems to know about when a reader like me has had enough! I’m tired of Ryan feeling sorry for himself. I’m tired of Ryan feeling like he isn’t good enough for Lizzy! I’m really tired of Lizzy being afraid to tell him she loves him and wants to always be with him.
There is a surprise ending I really didn’t see coming. Great book! Well written, it’s an emotional read, and I couldn’t put it down until I finished it!
Ride em Bareback, Cowgirl!
When you see a chance you take it, Because it’s all on YOU.
I liked that Lizzy and Ryan meet again when he comes back from the military. I thought these two had such a great friend ship and I liked reading about them changing to a romance. I felt for Ryan and I am glad he was able to let Lizzy in to be there with him.
I so enjoyed Save Me! This was a friends to lovers/ military romance read! I enjoyed Lizzy (Lizard) and Ryan (Cryin) journey and chemistry with some heartache! I’m so enjoying The Me Series!
The “Me” series are all stand-alone books with each having a different scenario. This author has the rom-com genre on lockdown.
Wow what a book.
This truly was an inspirational read that I simply couldn’t put down.
This was a brilliant storyline and brilliant characters.
The friendship between Lizzy and Ryan was off the scales. They had been friends for so many years and only lost touch whilst he was overseas.
Absolutely adored Lizzy and Ryan. Such a beautiful couple. Loved the way they reconnected and admitted their feelings toward each other.
I broke my heart and cried like a baby when Ryan’s tragedy struck but I was so happy that Lizzy made Ryan understand they could still be a couple and that Ryan gave into her advance and show him she was right.
This book truly was one of my most memorable reads if not the most memorable.
Logan has done one heck of a job with this book.
Logan has crushed it! Amazing story of Ryan and Lizzy who have know each other all their lives. Ryan is seeing Lizzy in a different light and starts to see an attraction but he doesn’t think he’d good enough. Lizzy has always had a crush on Ryan as a kid, is this still a crush? Or the real thing? This one broke my heart. So good!
3.5 Stars
This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. Although it took a while for me to get into the story, I still enjoyed reading it.
The Story:
Ryan came back home from serving in Afghanistan and has a hard time adjust-ing. But he doesn’t want to show any weakness and keeps his struggles to himself. When he and Lizzy catch up on their friendship again, both have trouble with keeping it casual. They are afraid of showing their true feel-ings in fear of getting rejected and ruining their friendship.
But how long can this go on until it will blow up in their faces? And what about Ryan’s issues lurking underneath in the unknown? Eventually they’ll both have to face some changes because life doesn’t deal you the cards you wish for.
Thoughts:
Ryan was a closed up character, which made it hard to connect with him. At least that’s how I felt. Most of the book was nice but it felt like going nowhere and the characters danced around each other and didn’t give any further inside on their lives besides the little details they gave about their friendship in the past. I wish there was some more to form the char-acters and make them feel more alive. There just wasn’t enough depth (at least in the first half of the book) for me to care about the characters. The story was OK at first but, like the characters, for lack of a better word, it felt all a bit bland.
At about 65%-70% in, I finally felt some spark in the characters and loved it until the end.
Ryan finally felt something. It didn’t matter what he felt, if anger or love or hurt, but he felt alive to me and that mattered because for most parts of the book Ryan suppressed any kind of feelings which, like I men-tioned already, made it hard to connect with him. I partly understood why he was like that but it just made it harder to get into the story.
Most of the time though, I just didn’t understand why Ryan was so closed off towards Lizzy because he wanted her one second and didn’t the next. It confused and annoyed me actually because I wanted to have more insight of Ryan’s thoughts and troubles. It all just felt like stating facts. I needed more details to understand him better.
Ryan’s family helped in the second half of the book to make the story feel more alive. I liked them and the closeness of his family.
My conclusion: The writing was good, the story got better towards the end and it was overall a really enjoyable read. Definitely worth checking out especially when you like military/friends-to-lovers romances.
I have to admit that there was a point in Save Me where I was muttering not nice things about Logan Chance 😉 . For no justifiable reason other than me getting far too emotional over what I was anticipating would be a quick, time killing read. Well, this is a fairly quick read. What’s it’s not is fluff that you can skim through. This is so well written, and even being a shorter book nothing seems to have been sacrificed. The characters are well developed and there is smooth, realistic dialog. The build for Ryan and Lizzy is slow, and sweet but almost intense at the same time as they fight their attraction. Once they cross the line things definitely heat up. I absolutely love this book. It is sweet, and steamy and emotional. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
Love this realistic love story. A young friendship stays just that as they grow up. Hidden crushes, growing up, military life, then back to civilian life. That’s a rough road for anyone, but Lizzy is bound to make a life with her lifelong friend. A must read!
A great love story filled with friendship, angst, steamy sex, turmoil, denial, acceptance and finally love. If you love friends to lovers, this is a must read. There is an unexpected twist at the end that really broke my heart, however. Logan Chance wrote the subject matter with compassion and understanding.
