Savanna was a marine biologist and best friends with a mermaid. Gillian’s mom hired her to look into the sharks in her waters because there weren’t supposed be any there. The sharks were part of a ship salvage group, not the ones to kidnap a mermaid that got loose from her prison that wanted to return her to her family. Daniel was the head of the salvage company and Savanna’s mate. His father kept trying to kidnap her and for friends because Daniel didn’t want anything to do with him. But they finally got it figured out and were ok!
I just love this book so much. The characters feel like you’ve known them for years and the action makes it feel like Clive Clussler wrote a book that didn’t objectify the women involved. And honestly where do you go wrong with otters, pirates, mermaids, sharks, and sooo much more?! I just love this book so much!
Really enjoyed this fun, sexy and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, exciting twists and heart racing turns.. Was a fun way to sped a few relaxing hours in the evening! Great read!
This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Shelly Ferguson; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

Confusing Start
I am a person who reads at all times of the day and night. This particular book was one that I started reading late at night when I couldn’t sleep. So, my experience of this book might be in part my fault as well as the author’s. I found the beginning of the book super confusing. I am not a reader who appreciates an information dump—and that certainly didn’t happen here—but when a world created by the author is so different from our own, it helps to have at least some explanation at the beginning as well as sprinkled throughout the text. (At first, I didn’t even know if the mermaids were the true mythical creatures or just a group of people. I didn’t re-read the book description to get context.) This didn’t really happen much at all, so I felt like I was more trying to get my bearings in this fantastical world as the book went along rather than actually appreciating the characters or the plot, which felt too fast given the lack of world-building. I found myself wondering if this was a splinter off of a different series—so that author might expect that the readers know something about her world—but the copy of the book that I received made no mention of that. All in all, I found this to be a very disappointing reading experience. Perhaps I should look at it again when it isn’t at the end of a long day.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Another great story. Love, adventure, kidnapping, suspense – Check! Shelly never seems to disappoint. Definitely recommend this book.
Book one in the Love in Salacia series a well written story that kept me turning pages. Savanna and Daniel a shark shifter’s story, there is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book in this series. This book was so so good! I was hooked from the first page and couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next. It’s filled with a bit of drama, mermaids, sharks, pirates, and love, what more could you ask for? An entertainingly wonderful read and one I highly recommend.
