I’ve been called the Devil, deranged, and a savage. I lived by a code created by rebel souls. We were sinners and thieves that made no apologies for taking whatever the f*ck we wanted. Saving a girl in the woods was never part of my plans, but when I saw the crazy in her eyes I knew it was a match made in hell.
Now secrets are piling up, the bodies are rotting, and time is running out to finish what I started.
Forewarning, our story is more than a little f*cked up.

Savages by Natalie Bennett is a book I have been eyeballing for sometime. A dark dystopian read that isn’t for the faint of heart. It is erotic, violent and disturbing, but also engaging. I couldn’t read it fast enough once I started.
Calista and Romero have so many secrets that they keep from everyone and even a few they keep from each other. He’s the Devil and she is a monster, both bred to be by the society and cult they were raised in. Together they are bloody and disturbingly frightening. You do not want to get on their bad side.
The whole concept of this book is intriguing and I enjoyed getting to know the characters. However there was some jumping around of information. No specifics here as that would be spoilery but I felt like some things were assumed to be known but without a bit of thinking or further reading the reader might be lost. All the questions I ended up having were answered at some point in the book, so by the end I was not still scratching my head trying to figure it out. And that was a good thing considering that cliffhanger of an ending!!
This book like I stated above is not for those who want to experiment in the dark. There are cannibals, extremely violent and sexually demented scenes and insane characters (like literally insane) I highly suggest that you consider how dark you want to go before you dive in. I am so glad that I have the second book already as I don’t think I would be patient enough to wait to find out just what the heck is going on!

Dark, twisted and completely addictive. I couldn’t put this book down. Calista and Romero are both messed up characters that somehow really work well together. Full of twists and plenty of hotness, this book sucked me in. Can’t wait for more. I need answers.
This is my first book by this author so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. This is a book that will stay with you. I caught myself thinking about the story for days after.
From the first page this story will grip you and not let you go. It is gruesome, gory, twisted, bloody and full of horrible events. But is it also a story of two people with dark desires who find each other and connect an so many levels. There are dark secrets, which hopefully will be revealed in the next books.
My favorite line “ you fit- you’re a fu***ed up pair of star-crossed lovers”.
Oh man, Natalie Bennett has written something that is just so twisted and totally just screws with your mind. At least, it totally screwed with mine.
Savages was exactly that, savage in what it did to me. I was left in a book hangover. I kept holding my breath to see what was going to happen next. In fact, I held my breath so often, I was afraid that I wouldn’t survive to finish the book.
Calista grew up under the thumb of her father in a cult that he leads. After something particularly gruesome, she is taken out by her brothers, and nearly taken out. However, she manages to survive and goes to fight another day.
Romero leads the Savages. The name fits. Really, really, really fits. He has something against Cali’s dad and does what he can to kill his people. When Rome rescues Cali, he recognizes her, even if he hasn’t seen her in years. He decides that he’s going to keep her.
OK, Rome is crafty, sneaky, and way up to all kinds of things. Every single time I thought that I had a handle on him, something else completely happened and I ended up thinking WTF? Cali has her own agenda too, but I found her a little more straight-forward. The two of them are explosive together, and the sex is way sexy. I can’t wait to see how their story is going to play out and what’s going to happen next, because I know it’s going to be good. But I think I’m going to have to work on increasing the time I can hold my breath, just so I’m ready.
