Out here beyond the wall, men take what they want.I was warned. I was told what the savages in the wild lands outside the city would do to a girl like me, how they would ravish me, share me, and shame me. I should have listened…Once I left home, I didn’t even last a day on my own. With a bear set on making me his next meal, it took four fearsome beasts of men to save my life. But the rugged, … my life. But the rugged, battle-hardened brutes who rescued me have no intention of letting me go. I belong to them now, and they are more than ready to strip me bare and punish me as sternly as needed to teach me my place.
They have claimed me, but they will not merely use my virgin body for their pleasure. They are going to breed me. They’ll take me hard and often, sometimes one at a time and sometimes several at once, until they’ve mastered me so completely that I can’t help begging for more.
Publisher’s Note: Savages includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

A new dark reverse harem story from Loki Renard. I enjoyed the book.
For me a good RH book needs to have individual characters and the main characters has to have a different relationship with each guy. This book had all that and I really enjoyed the whole bear story. i won’t say more because i don’t want to spoil the story.
I wouldn’t have minded a bit more worldbuilding and background though. A bot more about day to day life in the tribe.
I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.

In a dystopian future, a naive city woman goes out into the savage wilderness to see what it is like. And she does, in spades.
This is billed as a dark romance, reverse harem story and, with this author, I expect sex, D/S and punishments. And I got pretty much all of that expect, in my opinion, the romance. I didn’t really feel any connection between the heroine and her new owners/mates. In the end, the elements were there, but not in a combination that I found particularly enjoyable.
I thought the story itself was well written, and the characters had distinct, if not particularly likeable, personalities. It just was not my favorite story by this author.

This reverse harem story is awesome. It is dark, there are issues with consent so if that’s a trigger then don’t read this book! There are 2 different worlds that are described here, the urban world that considers itself to be morally correct and they have a fear of the wild world that is outside their borders. The 2 worlds are so far apart and yet are both human so it’s interesting to see that come in to play in this dark story. There is lots of scenes with members of the reverse harem and each member has their own personality and way of interacting with Riley. Riley is a young woman that never got to live outside the walls of the city. Her father would tell her about his outings. Riley fell in love with these stories. One day Riley was just tired of the same old same old. Not being able to explorer like her father. So she decided to go outside the walls. Riley ends up meeting Maverick that saves her life. Hans that ends up bonding with her. Stryker that is a fellow city dweller. Ice that will always protect her no matter what. I enjoyed reading this book. I loved the storyline and plot. This was my very first book by Loki Renard and it won’t be my last. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
(Review with spoilers)
Dark history. I loved it, especially on the mystical side. I loved the union they have with nature and how they want her to have it, that she also shares it.
Initially, Riley is silly. She leaves her life without knowing very well what is beyond. She finds it difficult to adapt. But she also makes them see something they had not seen.
Maverick is the leader, the one who tells her that she belongs to them. And the one who gives it up that first time because he cares about her, he wants that she enjoys it.
Hans is charming. He treats her with affection from the first moment, takes care of her.
Ice hopes to see her mystical side, for her to accept that she is part of something bigger thank herself. Once she does, he respects and accepts her. He cares for her.
Stryker … Riley thought he would help her more, because she’s also from the city. He didn’t, but he truly cares for her.
I didn’t like them deciding for her, operating her without her approval. But I’m not surprised, it’s what I expected.
I recommend it.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
Riley has heard all the exciting tales about the outside from her father since she was very small. He would lead the adventures with people who would travel outside the city walls. That all came to a stop nine years ago when her father didn’t come back. Her mother swears he’s dead, but Riley believes he’s still alive. She just wants to go for a walk and explore with every intention of returning. In her excitement, she runs through the woods enchanted with the world be alive with all the insects and trees when she feels the ground rumble. A bear is charging. It’s bigger than anything she’s seen in books and she’s frozen until she is shoved out of the way and there are four large men, Maverick, Ice, Hans, and Stryker, with spears to protect her.
The leader, Maverick, is ripped open but eventually the bear leaves. Riley offers to help him yet he refuses. After thanking them for saving her, she tries to explain she must leave but is informed they have already bled for her. Defended her life from the bear spirit and sacrificed flesh and forest soul. Therefore, she belonged to them for whatever they please. There would be no returning to the city. But is she strong enough to endure what is to come?
Loki Renard has given us a story that consists of a madman with no fear of pain, a cruel dominant sadist, a city runaway, a mere hunter, and a lost little girl. Take those ingredients, add Loki Renard’s flair of wrapping them into a storyline with a plot that is so intriguing to keep your interest and then infuse it with a sexual chemistry that only fate and nature can drive. This is the remarkable tale I’ve just finished. Each character has it’s own idiosyncrasies, strengths, and weaknesses which compliment and build off the next. The world described is one of raw power and delicate beauty that made me open my mind to wonders often taken for granted or overlooked. This is one book I can say completely took me by surprise in a good way and am so glad I didn’t miss it. Congratulations on an outstanding book.

Riley went out into the wild. She was about to get attacked by a bear. The four men saved her and then claimed she was now theirs. They were again attacked by the bear and she ended its life. They have a great chemistry between them once she realizes she needs them. In the end they have a HEA.

This is a reverse harem set in a dystopian world. Riley lives a contained life in her mother’s apartment. Her father left home to guide people outside of the city walls, and was not seen again. Riley has a yearning to see what is beyond the walls and feel a connection with her father. The world is completely different outside the walls, the people are different, and the rules they live by? Totally different, exciting, challenging. Riley is claimed by a clan of warriors who will protect her at all costs. The men all have distinct personalities and ideas about how their feisty, warrior woman should be treated. It was action-packed while the men hunted and then back at home. I enjoyed the characters, the action, and the way the story came full circle.

Jeetje this was not what I expected from it, but despite it I am very entertained. At a time when everything is different than now and yet ancient habits come back. The characters all come into their own, the timeline and the story itself are easy to follow, because it reads easily. From me 4 stars .. it tastes like more, but also miss something.

This book is extremely well written. I think there were only 2 typos in the whole book.
As a reader I really appreciate the time and effort put into such quality work. Thank you.
I really like this story. Loki has a unique writing style, it’s almost like poetry … or verse.
The story setting is a sort of post apocalyptic tale about a girl who’s not afraid to break away from the fear that rules her city in the hopes of finding something more on the other side of the wall.
And boy dose she have an adventure. ( I’m sorry that is all you will get from me because I am not the type to re-tell the whole story in my review.)
There is an element of mystic as well as the “moral” of the story…well, actually there are a couple morals to this story.
See if you can find them.
Happy Reading:)

Riley is a city girl living in an ultra-safe, man-made cocoon. Experiencing almost no human interaction, she lives with her mother in a tiny apartment inside of a huge, towering building situated amongst numerous similar structures that all but block the sun. She exists in a drug-induced calm, within a cold, clean, safe, placid and dark environment.
But, Riley craves more. She wants to feel the sun. She wants to walk on land, instead of a treadmill. So, bypassing her medication, she leaves her boring residence and exits through the city gates. Only intending to take a short walk and then return to the City, Riley encounters nature at its most fundamental. She experiences beauty and sunshine, and then is forced to face the danger from wild animals and uncivilized humans. When a bear attacks her, Riley is saved by 4 Savage men. Because they saved her life, she now belongs to them. Her old life is over. She can never return to the City. Instead, she must satisfy the needs and desires of her men.
In my opinion, this is a philosophically intense story, with touches of mysticism interlaced with sexual experiences. The 4 dominant men who saved and then claimed Riley, teach her about reality, sexuality, and male/female roles in their wild, uncivilized world. I found myself not only enjoying the characters and their interactions, but thinking deeply about the ideas presented to Riley.
If you want to know if Riley will ever be able to fit in, make a new life for herself with her 4 alpha male mates, and accept her differing circumstances and role in life, then you should read this book.
