A new heart-pounding, suspenseful, and supremely romantic novel from New York Times bestseller, Mia Sheridan. When wilderness guide, Harper Ward, is summoned to the small town sheriff’s office in Helena Springs, Montana, to provide assistance on a case, she is shocked to find that their only suspect in the double murder investigation is a man described as a savage. But the longer she watches the … longer she watches the man known only as Lucas, on the station surveillance camera, the more intrigued she becomes. He certainly looks primitive with his unkempt appearance and animal skin attire, but she also sees intelligence in his eyes, sensitivity in his expression. Who is he? And how is it possible that he’s lived alone in the forest since he was a small child?
As secrets begin to emerge, Harper is thrust into something bigger and more diabolical than she ever could have imagined. And standing right at the center of it all, is Lucas. But is he truly the wild man he appears to be? A cold blooded killer? An innocent victim? Or a perplexing mix of all three?
Harper must find out the answers to these questions because the more time she spends with him, the more she risks losing her heart.

In awe of every single word – GREAT STORY!
Just when I think I’ve read the best Mia has written she comes up with storyline even better.
Savaged is an intriguing story of love, of survival, of loss. Choices one makes to survive in order to live. A story of hope. Sensitivity and instinct play an important role in the good of mankind.
One of the best tortured heroes I’ve ever read. Gah! This book is sooooooo. Damn. Good. So different. So inspiring. So brilliant. READ IT!
This book grabbed me from the very first page. The writing was hauntingly addictive and beautiful and the characters completely drew me in. Mia Sheridan has created a superb story and I am in awe of her talent. Savaged was simply captivating!
A satisfying roller-coaster ride of a novel. Definitely recommend!
I loved it!
It was exciting. Mysterious. Adventurous. Heartbreaking. Sweet. Adorable. So sad. Horrible even sometimes. But also so full of hope and love and …. I just adored Lucas and Harper. And cop Mark and his wife.
I felt so sad for Lucas and Harper – both have been through so much. Lucas has the more obvious hard past, but Harper has been suffering for 15 years too. Heartbreaking. But also so perfect. They’re sooo perfect for each other.
It was a very beautiful story. I loved reading it!
I wanted a bit more of … things here and there – no idea what I mean, but I wanted a bit more – where other parts were a bit too long/much. And I wasn’t in love with their ages. They were only 22 but I sometimes had the feeling they were around 30. They didn’t come across as so young. Yes, I know they’ve had to grow up fast, but especially because of that, they should be a bit emotionally behind. Ugh – no idea what I’m talking about now, but I think they either should’ve been 3 years older, or they should’ve been written a bit younger-sounding.
BUT – I really loved this book! I would definitely watch the movie or Netflix show!
Another amazing story by Mia Sheridan.
Every Mia Sheridan book I’ve read is a distinctive experience yet they all never fail to consume me. She gives us words that beautifully describe every feeling and emotion, words that soothe, excite or enrage us. Words that make me think, “Yes, this is why I read.”
The story weaves in and out of a background drumbeat filled with mystery and quite a bit of suspense, amidst Harper and Lucas’s personal struggles.
This romantic suspense builds its momentum with every chapter. Harper and Lucas are so strong, individually and together. The stark differences in their own circumstances all melt away when they are with each other. Survivors in their own right, each one is uniquely intuitive and learns life’s hard lessons in his or her own way.
Savaged is aptly titled, as it messed up my feelings in the best way.
I don’t know how Mia does it? How does she think up these amazing stories- each one so unique and filled with such emotions. I’m left reeling after reading Savaged. It was filled with suspense, but also filled with such love and hope. The characters are both dealt such tragic beginnings to their lives. Harper is left bouncing through the foster care system, while Jak is left to survive in the wilderness on his own. Mia reminds us that regardless of what we have faced , if we have strength to persevere we can be whole again and love and be loved . Love you, Mia !
I love a lot of authors but no one can compare to Mia Sheridan. This book kept me on the edge of my seat. So much suspense. So many feels it’s crazy I’m not sure why because they aren’t even similar but I kept thinking at times about Archer Hale. It isn’t even summer yet but this is THE BOOK of the summer. I never saw things coming that happened but I ADORED this book. I finished with a HIGE smile on my face and sadness as well because it makes me wonder does this ever really happen to kids? Because honestly it could. Mia if you ever read this thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for letting me read this book. You amaze me every time I read a book from you. I love you and I wish I had the creativity that you do. Guys checked out Jak and Harper they are a couple that I will NEVER EVER forget.
Webster defines Savaged as cruel and vicious, aggressively hostile or primitive and uncivilized. With that description it would seem to be someone you would want to stay away from, to not befriend and to live in fear of. Aww, but of course we know Mia Sheridan can work miracles. She can make you love the unlovable, can capture the heart of the heartless, can force you think the unthinkable, and she can tame the Savaged beast.
Once again, Mia stepped outside of her normal romance and gave me a story that encompasses everything imaginable and left me on the edge of my seat waiting for more. It’s not a fairy tale or an easy read for that matter. It’s not always about fantasies. Sometimes it is raw, cannibalistic, terse and painful.
The characters Mia created for this story are not your typical hero and heroine. Your normal boy meets girl. Your let me swoon and fall in love people.
Jak has seen the worse, survived the worse and settled on being the “beast”. He created a somewhat comfort zone amid turmoil. He lived! Harper had survived her own sort of hell. Losing her parents and growing up through the foster care system. She had seen some things, lived through some things and overcame some things. She lived!
Mia shows us the tamest can become wild and the wild can become tame. That love is universal.
But then Mia does what Mia does. She drops me deep into the depths of mystery, and intrigue. She takes me on a journey of twist and turns. She causes me to question myself and my own reactions. She pens a story so fresh, so crisp, so magical. She is amazing with characters, she is phenomenal with storytelling and she has written another classic. Once again Mia, you have written my favorite my favorite read of 2019 to date.
Gloriously breathtaking, riddled with survival and heart wrenchingly beautiful!
It’s no secret Archer Hale reins supreme on the throne of my book boyfriend kingdom BUT Lucas is now the crowned Prince.
You need to savor each delicious page. Chewing the morsels, allowing them to warm a path down to you heart before settling in your soul cause that is where the wildness thrives.
I’ve read and searched for another Archer yearning for his magnificence in every book so it’s no surprise Mia, the woman who created him, gave me another to adore, love and live.
This book abounds with feels, heart and grips you so tight you hope it will never let go. Don’t go into the wild racing to the finish. Live the beauty, smell the air, allow it to break you and revel in Mia Sheridans astute creativity to deliver into our hands men we will never nor could ever forget.
Gut wrenching, tear inducing, hold this boy close survival but the when the switch flips you will be amazed and awed.
Applause, applause, standing ovation!
A stunningly phenomenal read with so much and more. Inspiring, breathtaking and one of the best reads I’ve ever had the thrill of enjoying!
I’m pretty much at a loss for words here. Savaged is such a unique story, a premise that I’ve never read before, one that completely tugged at my heart while making me so, so angry at the same time. It was mysterious and suspenseful, with a truly beautiful romance. It had me feeling all the feels, all of them. I don’t even know what to say without sounding like a gushing fangirl. I do know that this book will be right there in my top favorites when the end of the year rolls around.
Can your heart break, even as it swells with love? Because honestly, that’s how I was feeling when reading this story. From the prologue Ms. Sheridan had me so completely captivated, I didn’t want to put it down. I found myself losing track of time, I got so caught up in everything that was happening. There’s so much heartache and despair, but the love outshines it all, bringing this story full circle.
I really don’t want to say much about what actually happens in this book- it’s one everyone should experience for themselves. I will say, if you love Archer Hale I have a feeling you’ll fall equally as hard for Lucas. Savaged will be going on that special shelf, reserved for one of a kind books.
Mia Sheridan seriously stepped outside of her box and wrote one hell of a haunting, thought provoking and suspenseful romance. I’m so glad that she took a chance and wrote Savaged since it’s life altering and absolutely phenomenal!!
There is no way that I can even begin to go into detail about this plot nor do I want to as it would be a disservice to spoil it. Savaged is uniquely created, the storyline is unexpected and it’s in a league of its own. It’s filled with a high level of angst, mystery and plot twists that consumed me. Just when I thought I had it figured out, I was dead wrong. This book is about survival, trust, gut wrenching and heartbreaking moments coupled with a realistic, touching and beautiful romance.
I strongly encourage readers to take a chance on Savaged. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I will never get over it. It’s one of the BEST books I’ve ever read.
“Everyone gave me away. No one kept me.”
Sure, my beautiful wildman , that I take care of you forever ….
Oh, Lord …. What a wonderful man !!!!
Another extraordinary book by Mia Sheridan, loaded with emotions,a big suspense and tension. This time she innovated bringing a strong police suspense with a heartwarming story where each piece delivered to the reader forms a large puzzle with a beautiful image at the end. Those who know me know how I love policial books full of twists and tensions and Mia Sheridan managed to bring this into Savaged with a good drama wrapped up in a beautiful story of love, friendship and family.
I’m such a big a fan of Mia Sheridan’s writing that I take her books without even reading the synopsis. As soon as I got this book, I started reading straight away, and It kept getting my hair straight. How come the book starts this way, Mia?
I ran to read the synopsis and wondered if the prologue had already been tense, I could not even imagine what my heart would feel with the rest of the book.
Mia gives in each chapter a small piece of a great intricate and elaborate story, each character is presented gradually and without notice of change demanding of me a great concentration to try to understand what, why and how the murders happened and what were they connection with the prologue. I confess that I had a certain fear that would get loose ends in the resolution of this mystery, because as no detail is given of fast form and there are so many details to be embedded, Mia could very much let pass something….but… The story closes perfectly, I just wanted a crucial detail to be different at the end and I’m going to start campaigning for her to write Savaged’s sequel with Dr Swift and Daire.
Please,Mia!
My connection to the main couple was not instantaneous, because Mia was presenting their story slowly, but as I glimpsed everything they lived, I was falling in love with each one and it was impossible not to love the way as they approached and slowly built a relationship of trust, support and love ….. And since Mia never does anything in a half way, once I discovered the story of one of the secondary characters I was sure that I would be even more emotional in the end…and… Mia does not fail to present us always wonderful endings.
The two protagonists are very well developed and it is exciting to accompany their journey of maturing and healing . The third-person narration helped a lot at this point and allowed for the insertion of the other characters in the plot.
The cover was very well chosen with several elements of the plot in the drawing.
5/5 stars
Oh how I love when Mia Sheridan writes a new book….her words, they stick with me like no other! Such a talented and consistently fantastic author. Savaged is different than anything I’ve read from her to date. I felt like she left a heart and soul beating on those pages.
Raw, so many ups and downs, loads of emotion, it’s definitely more suspense than romance in my eyes. These characters, they’re going to dig deep and you’ll hold on for the ride. Highly recommend Loved Savaged!!!
This is a shout from the rooftops kind of book. A jump up and down, flail my arms about, and repeat over and over until you know I’m serious:
Read this!
*Read this!*
***READ THIS !!!***
I don’t even know what else to say. I am so blown away. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this story. I’ve been yearning for something to set itself apart from the pack. Something different from anything else I’ve been reading. And y’all – Mia Sheridan delivered.
Savaged carries the same heart, emotional impact, and beautiful love story that I’ve come to expect from this author, but it was…different. A little darker. A little edgier. A little more twisted. My heart came out of this one a little battered, but so, so satisfied.
This is a long book, and it’s dense. That is, every bit of it is important and all of it was fascinating, compelling and interesting to me. The lovely and original romance is situated right in the middle of of a mystery and my mind raced to put the puzzle pieces together even as my heart fell so easily in love with these amazing, unique, and completely wonderful characters.
I didn’t get the puzzle pieces right, by the way. Nothing played out the way I expected to and there was a moment, near the end, where my head nearly exploded. Literally I had an “Oh, my god. OhMyGod. OHMYGOD” moment – my pulse pounding, my heart bubbling over with all kinds of crazy emotions, and my mind…well, completely blown.
Savaged was absolutely one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. It was thrilling. It was horrifying. It was heartwarming. It was simply fantastic. This book was an experience, and one I cannot recommend highly enough. Read this book!!!
Investigating a murder can be a task filled with uncertainty and painstaking clues. For Agent Mark Gallagher – the task of solving a double murder near Helena Springs has left him with more questions than answers. With an investigation full of bizarre circumstances, Agent Gallagher seeks help navigating the wilderness from Harper.
Nothing could have prepared the residents of Helena Springs for the discovery of a ‘savage’ living in the mountains. Someone so out of touch, it’s easy to assume he knows more about these murders than meets the eye. Lucas looks like a mountain man with his long hair and animal skin clothing. The more time that Harper spends with Lucas, the more she begins to become captivated with every nuance of his personality. Can Lucas really be responsible for both of these unsolved murders?
As secrets unfold surrounding Lucas and his time in the wilderness, Harper will find herself pulled deeper into the mystery. Nothing surround Lucas’ unusual circumstances will be easy to unravel. Harper will find herself flashing back to moments from her past that will only deepen the connection that she has with Lucas. All of the parties involved in this mystery will face the reality of just how important these two murders are in their own choices in life.
Are you ready to discover Savaged? First let me start by saying that this novel is NOTHING like any of Mia Sheridan’s past styles of writing. Savaged is a deeper read that pulls you into a mystery that keeps you guessing with each turn of the page. There are multiple points of view in the book. You really have to pay attention to keep up with which characters is ‘sharing’ at that moment. I found myself a couple of times losing track of if readers were in the present or past. There are not labels for the chapters to explain whose viewpoint is given at that moment either.
The story is definitely unique with the contents of the plot. Each character is adding a layer to a mystery that you will find intriguing when that revelation comes to light. Savaged is a continuous mystery that will lead you on a journey of secrets and survival. Mia Sheridan has definitely extended her range of depth in this novel!! This book will definitely be a journey that you didn’t see coming, but one that you should embark upon just to see how unique Sheridan’s latest novel can be.
Once again Mia delivers a amazing book with a story that will stay in our hearts. I know it’s a contemporary romance mixed with a suspense, but for me, it reads like a fantasy. Almost a Beauty and the Beast retelling, Savaged guide us through present and past, giving clues at the same time to the reader and the character, leading us from smiles to tears, from happiness to heart break. Harper is an amazing heroine: strong, independent, with an open heart. Our hero is at the same time strong and innocent, fighting for his life. This is the kind of book to go in blind, so I won’t say much more, only that it deserved to be read.

It’s no secret I love Mia Sheridan’s stories, so giving SAVAGED five stars is no surprise.
But I’d like to add to all the amazing reviews out there that this book is very special, because of all the stories hidden behinds this cover.
Lucas and Harper’s love story is nothing you expect.
So, enjoy the ride through the “wild”.
Nature’s wildness, and sadly, human wildness too.
You’ll love the supporting characters, and their own personal stories.
You’ll learn about the most sordid and cruel sides of the human being, but also about survival, love and compassion.
Like I said, you don’t know what’s awaiting behind this cover, behind the forest.
The savages aren’t always the ones we think…
Suspense, passion, twists and love, with Mia’s writing, the perfect mix.
The perfect read.
Enjoy!
