The Virus. That’s what they called it, the lone thing that had the ability to wipe out mankind—the lone thing that did just that. Those who survived were immune, but death might have been a better outcome than the world they now lived in. Sasha and her younger sister Lucy were trying to survive this new, desolate existence. They’re on their own, savaging this now ruined world. Those who survived … Those who survived might be friends but more than likely they’re enemies.
Then they learned about a safe community up north, and although they should try for it, fear keeps them rooted. But movement is life and staying in one place too long would mean death.
Then fate made that decision for them, one that forces their hand and makes them flee the new place they called home. They have nothing else to lose, even if it turns out to be a dead end. The road is a lonely place when it’s only two, and hunger is a nasty villain.
There’s violence and degradation. There’s anger and immoral needs.
And then there’s Malachi.
He came into their lives at the perfect time, saving them, protecting them. And Sasha felt desire for the first time in her life. She also felt fear. He’s barbaric and ruthless, with wild eyes and a cunning gaze. He’s a criminal with a tattooed body, his former life now a distant memory. This new existence had changed everyone and everything, and all who now lived within it were warped, twisted. It was kill or be killed.
But Sasha would do anything to keep her and Lucy safe, and so she strikes up a deal with the savage, knowing she could use her one currency to get them out of this. Her body.
She’ll stay with him, be whatever he needs, whatever he wants as long as he helps them get up north so her sister has a chance to survive, to be part of a community again.
She’ll do whatever he wants so long as he kept them safe.
And he agrees
. She’s now his… the property of a savage who will use her because he now owned her.

Survival after The Virus
When Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent come together to write a book you can be assured that it is going to be an intense experience reading it. With Savage the reader is transported into an apocalyptic world that has been decimated by The Virus. Sasha is eighteen and is trying to ensure that she and her younger sister Lucy, who is ten years old, survive but they are alone together, which is a hard existence. There is no law, no real society, people can be friends or enemies, there is not enough to eat or drink and where can you be safe enough to rest. Sasha hears of a community up north and decides they must go there in order to remain safe and allow Lucy to grow up.
Malachi is older and before The Virus he was a drug lord. He has been watching Sasha and Lucy for a while, ensuring that they are safe. But he must step on to save them when danger strikes. In doing so he is able to get Sasha, who he has been drawn to and wants to have.
Will Malachi be able to keep Sasha and Lucy safe? Will he get them to the community? Will he let Sasha go or will he keep her?
This story is well written and has an engaging story-line which pulls you in from the first page to the last. The characters were interesting and there was time in the story to develop them and give them depth in their backstories. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I have read every Jenika Snow book, but this was the first book I’ve read by Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent. I wasn’t sure what I was getting into. Virus? End of the world? Apocalypse?
What I got was an abso-freakin-lute MASTERPIECE! It ran the gamut of emotions. There was love, but there was also courage, bravery, fear, uncertainty, hope, faith, determination and survival.
It is a slow build of so many things that happen throughout the story. Of how we meet Sasha and Lucy. Of Malachi and his past. I laughed every time Tree Man spoke. I cried when I felt they wouldn’t find their haven. I gasped in surprise when I learned more about Tree Man at the end. And I was left speechless by the final page.
This book had ALL the feels and was more than just a mere love story. There was action, adventure, drama and comedy all rolled into one. I can honestly see this book as a MOVIE!
Savage is in my top 5 of 2019! It was so well written, with the perfect amount of detailing as to not drag on and on. I cannot praise Savage enough! Buy this book!!!Jenika Snow Sam Crescent
Really enjoyed this one and I am very picky about my apocalyptic romance books. Of course the alpha hit all the checkpoints of a Jenkins snow book. What I want to know is: WHEN IS THE SEQUEL COMING OUT?
