Never have a one-night-stand with a shifter. 1) They’re intense, growly lovers and they bite—hard2) You risk them claiming you as their “fated mate” and never leaving you alone again3) Even if you manage to get rid of the guy, you might be carrying his baby Gwyneth knew better. She could tell right away that Doug was a shifter, but it didn’t matter. He was too hot to let go. One night of fun … shifter, but it didn’t matter. He was too hot to let go. One night of fun never hurt anybody, right?
Well, she was right about one thing—it was only one night.
As soon as Doug knew Gwyn was pregnant, he did what any douchey, malcontented, irredeemable shifter would do—he ran fast and he ran far.
But when his inner mountain lion drives him back into Gwyn’s arms, Doug learns that danger waits at every turn. Wooing his mate and learning how to be a good father are the least of his worries.

This is the seventh book in this series and do yourself a favour read them all even though you don’t have to to follow this story. We have met Doug in a previous book and he wasn’t the nicest person should we say.
Here is his story with Gwyneth (Gwynn)she is a witch and should have known better than to get involved with cougar shifter but he was just to hot to ignore but it didn’t surprise her that he ran when he found out she was pregnant now three years later she is living away from her coven with her three year old son Caleb, when her coven finds out where she is she knows she needs help so she calls on the last person she would ever expect to call Doug. Meanwhile Doug has changed and grown up he has been watching his brother with his daughter and it has had him wondering about his son. He is already on his way to Gwynn when he gets her call for help so now not only does he have to work out his feelings for Gwynn bond with his son but also keep them safe from the coven after them. Keeping them safe means taking them to his family where Caleb gets to meet shifters like him for the very first time.
She knows he is a shifter, but goes for a one night stand anyway. Well as often happens she ends up pregnant. He takes off like a rocket. He can’t handle things. Well he gets a dose of family love and wants to meet his son. She is a witch and belongs to a coven who isn’t very nice and she doesn’t like much. They decide to come after her so she takes off and goes to him for help. It is exciting, intriguing, dramatic, emotional and so much more. I highly recommend it. Gripping read that will get you emotionally invested and has plenty of suspense. At the beginning I wasn’t Doug’s biggest fan but as the story went on I became to like him more and more. Doug and Gwyn have a fast paced story that has an excellent well developed plot. I could not put this book down.

This was such a good book. Bad boy hooks up and then runs when he finds out she is pregnant. But when he returns, he does try to find her. Meanwhile, Gwen is trying to protect her son from the coven leader.. When they join together to protect their young son, sparks fly. Some mystery and excitement make this a very good story.
This is book seven in the Fierce Mates: Corona pride. Gwyn is a witch and her son, Caleb, is half witch and half mountain lion shifter. The shifter part comes from a one night stand with Doug who left her. There is an excellent and entertaining storyline with lots of shifting, magic, danger, and deceit. The characters are vivid and memorable. Excellent read!

Doug has not been a good character up to this point. He’s a real jerk, as a matter of fact. Gwynn has been an independent single mother and wants nothing more to do with Doug. However, their adorable son, Caleb, happens to like him. I loved the transformation of these separate people into an irresistible family. Savage Penance was an enjoyable novel by Liza Street that I recommend.

It might have been a one night stand but it left consequences. He left and didn’t look back. but seeing his niece and brother interact caused a change of heart. The question is will she allow him to see the child and accept him? Can he protect the child and his mother? A great read.
I couldn’t put it down!
I literally read the whole thing in one sitting, which is unusual for me. The story just pulled me in and held on tight, and I was powerless against it!
Though this is book 7 in the series, I don’t think you need to read the previous books to enjoy this one. But you should. Because this series is awesome!
Doug was a bad guy in previous books. Like, a real jerk. But this story painted him in a different light. I enjoyed reading how he continued to evolve throughout the story, and I loved how he was with Caleb and Gwyn.
Gwyn was really cool. She’s a witch, but she is endearing because she has doubts and shortcomings like we all do. She’s very independent and can totally take care of herself and her son, but she was also strong enough to ask for help when she needed it.
These two knew each other from years ago (I won’t tell you how!) and they have a certain…something…in common. Though they were hesitant to reconnect in any way, they soon found the pull towards each other impossible to resist. And when they collided, HOLY SMOKES!
Liza is just such a master of imagery. I always feel like I’m right there in the action-packed stories she writes, and I can’t wait for the next book!!!
(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
It was going to be just one night and as it turns d out it was. She knew he was a shifter but it did not matter. She ends up getting pregnant and he ran, fast and as far away as possible. He is soon back when he learns they are in danger. Can he keep them safe? Can he be the father and loved he should be? See how they get on
