“Riveting, sharp, and mercilessly suspenseful, Savage is a masterfully constructed thriller from one of the best authors in the genre.”~Bestselling author Emerald O’BrienPetrosky’s back, and so is his most vicious rival: the man who killed his partner. Things are looking up for Detective Edward Petrosky. His grandkids are back in town, the girls next door are remarkably well-adjusted, and he’s … girls next door are remarkably well-adjusted, and he’s solving homicides as quickly as ever. It doesn’t matter that he’s sneaking shots before morning briefings; whiskey or no, he’s still getting the job done.
But his tenuous grasp on professionalism falters when he’s called to the scene of a kidnapping—the waitress from the diner he frequents has gone missing, the only server who knows he takes his coffee with a little liquor. And she’s due with her first baby any day.
It isn’t long before they find her newborn child abandoned in a nearby cellar—does that mean the woman is already dead? And the infant isn’t even the most distressing piece of evidence. Petrosky cannot overlook the similarities to a past case he wishes he could forget, a brutal pattern of abductions that ended with a killer torturing young women to death in his basement. That same savage killed his partner, a man Petrosky had regarded as his son.
But it’s not possible—years ago, Petrosky himself watched that maniac’s head explode in a shower of red mist. Could it be a copycat? The series of dead men found shrink-wrapped in their cars seems to suggest a serial killer patterned after the murder of his partner. But Petrosky can’t shake the feeling that there is more to the connection than they can see. Perhaps their current suspect knew the original killer—even psychos sometimes had accomplices. Or fall guys.
When one of his neighbors is kidnapped, a girl he sees as family, Petrosky’s suspicions are confirmed. Clues left at the scene lead them to the weapon used to slit his partner’s throat, one piece of the puzzle they’d never been able to locate.
This isn’t just evidence. It’s a warning.
It may be impossible, but it’s true: the man who killed his partner has returned, and he’s taking the people Petrosky loves one by one. Will Petrosky be able to locate a killer more cunning than any he’s ever encountered? Or will his fragile grasp on sanity finally snap?
Dark, gut-wrenching, and unputdownable, Savage is a knock-the-wind-out-of-you thriller that will keep you reading to the final, unforgettable page. If you liked Sharp Objects or The Wire, you’ll love Savage.

I will never ever get enough of this series from Meghan O’Flynn. I picked up that first book in the Ash Park Series way back a few years ago and I have personally reread all of them a time or two since. This newest addition, Savage, will be no different and I am sure will find myself picking it back up soon. O’Flynn does a wonderful job of writing these books so realistically you feel as if you are really right there in the gore and danger along with the detectives. We see our old friend again, Detective Petrosky, and boy he did not disappoint this time around either. I loved these books so much and I could never say enough good things about them, but I will not divulge any of the details because these are books that have to be read and discovered page by page by each person. They will keep you up at night finding out what is going to happen and then haunt your dreams as you try to actually sleep. This is one series you do not want to miss out on, and Savage is one of my favorites of the whole thing so don’t wait, one-click today!
Anytime we come back to these characters you know you’re in for quite the ride of emotions. You never know exactly what you’ll get when we visit back with Petrosky, but yiu can be sure of one thing, and thats always an investigation.
This had me on the edge of my seat with every turn of the page!
And….he’s back! Detective Petrosky is on his next deadly mission. Savage is Book 10 in the Ash Park Novel series by Meghan O’Flynn. Detective Edward Petrosky is in search of a lethal killer when they find the newborn baby of his regular server at the diner he normally goes to. This time he needs to dig deep and far to figure out this one! Everything in his life is starting to fall in line and everything is good when he figures out that all signs turn the same murderer that killed his partner many years ago. I swear, this series just keeps getting better and better! I love all of the twists and turns that are intertwined with story. You start at page one and you seriously cannot put it down. I get so involved with the storyline that I suddenly immerse myself in it and the next thing you know, I’m working right along with them to solve this case! I seriously cannot say enough about this book or this series. In my opinion, you should read this series from the beginning because you may get lost in the timeline. But, you can read this book on its own. You won’t be disappointed! Trust me!
I read a suspenseful thriller after a long time. I have never read Detective Petrosky before , so I was in the middle of the action before I realized what hit me. The story is deep and Detective Petrosky is intense. There is a kidnapping, a murder, a mind game at stake and things get personal when the detective’s past is involved. Petrosky plunges deeper into it , with alcohol, it is his partner who keeps him on check. The deadly cat and mouse chase begins, and the mouse keeps slipping away till at one point, Petrosky has to take a lead on the killer .
It is an intense read, for those who love a psychological thriller, this will definitely be worth a read.
Savage: An Ash Park Novel (Book Ten) by Meghan O’Flynn was another great read in this series! Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better. You don’t absolutely have to read the other books to understand what happens, but it does help in having the background of past events. There are so many things that happen in this series, I want to eventually go back and read them all again (this time in order) and get completely immersed in the Ash Park world. The characters are interesting, and the writing is phenomenal. This series is what made me become interested in crime novels more than the little bit I was before. I can’t wait to read more from this author!
All I can say is wow, this has to be my favorite from the series. Once you start you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to see what is coming next.
Detective Petrosky is back to drinking on the sly. When he gets a call from his partner in regards to a missing person, he is shocked to find out who it is. With little to go on, the investigation gets tricky. As we move forward in the investigation, things take some twists.
Could there be a copycat?
Overall this was a thrilling read, I really enjoy books that keep you guessing and this one did not disappoint. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading from the beginning. This is a fast paced read, the author pulls you right in with her writing. 1-click and get started today.

Savage (Ash Park Series Book 10) by Meghan O’Flynn
Savage ( Ash Park Series Book 10 ) by Meghan O’Flynn is Suspense Thriller that will pull you in and keep you on the edge of your seat till the end. I’m loving this series and I wish it could go on forever and Petrosky is my favorite character each book I find myself liking him more and more but I will say this one almost ruined me emotionally but in true fashion I pushed through and was glad I did. I highly recommend reading this series in order as each book gives backstory of the characters and you will get to see Petrosky at work. Petrosky is back at it again and this time he’s hunting down the person who killed his partner. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for more from this Author.
Savage is the 10th book in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. I have not read them all, but have read the last couple. You could probably enjoy this book, even as a first time reader. The series does follow Detective Petrosky, but the background information is not vital. The author provides enough details to know what is going on and get the gist of the story. I like this book more than the previous book. It is very personal to Petrosky, and I feel like his feelings came out more than in previous books. I was on the edge of my seat, wanting to know how the story was going to tie together and wrap up. Very intense and filled with suspense and mystery. The story starts out with the missing person being pregnant, which gets the reader’s adrenaline running right from the start. As the victim count grows, we start seeing a pattern, and wanting to know who done it. I didn’t want to put the book down. Even though there is already another book in the series, I felt this book has a good ending. It had a resolution I was okay with, and didn’t end as a cliff hanger. Thank you for that. I recommend this book, and series, to anyone who enjoys reading crime thrillers; or enjoys watching law and order. Its along the same line.
Savage: An Ash Park Novel by Meghan O’Flynn is the tenth book in this series. Let me start this book in the series will most definitely be enjoyed to the fullest if you have read the other books first. Let me say wow! This grabbed me from the start and did not let go. Detective Petrosky has not had it easy and he is finding a hard time finding his equilibrium. Will he survive the shock of the past coming back? This book makes you question what you thought you knew about Petrosky’s former cases. I did not want to put this down but I also had to get away and take a break. This is an intense read. I look forward to more from this author in the future. If you are looking for a dark, dangerous detective series this is the one you have been looking for.
Detective Edward Petrosky returns and he is even more of a mess than last time, his sobriety is practically non-existent and although he hasn’t been caught with the alcohol yet, only time will tell as to whether he is, but he and his partner are still solving crimes despite it. He is woken too early as usual by the buzzing of his phone combined with his dogs terrible breath and slobber and as he goes to answer it, it is his partner on the other end, again as usual, however, today she is calling from somewhere all to familiar, the diner where he picks up his laced coffee most mornings because there has been a kidnapping . When he gets to the diner and realises just who is missing, and it his favourite waitress who doses up the coffee who is the victim, she is pregnant and due any day, but the thing which makes matters even worse is that the witness who called it in doesn’t have that much information to give them, so they have no leads and no idea who has taken her, but they have an idea where to start looking, those who were closest to her.
As they start to look into the case more, speak to people to try and find something, they just keep coming across dead end after dead end, the only lead they have is a truck, but with no make, model or even colour to go on, they are starting to lose hope of finding her alive. When he gets home, Petrosky wants nothing more than a drink, but instead he is faced with a family meal with his family and the girls who live next door, as well as his dog, he is trying to keep up appearances, but he is struggling, even though he loves them all dearly, he feels responsible for all that has befallen them. The next day Petrosky and his partner head to a house in the suburbs where a member of the public reported that a truck which could match the one they are looking for pulled up to the house, honked its horn and left, although they say that they didn’t see anyone going in, it isn’t guaranteed that they didn’t, but when they arrive and find that a newborn baby has been left in the basement surrounded by empty, but sealed cardboard boxes, it is clean and healthy, but has been abandoned, however, Petrosky realises that the scene has been set up and is almost identical to one he worked years before.
Later on at the diner, Petrosky and his partner meet with another detective and this is where the deja vu in the basement really hits home when the confirmation is made that it is connected to the past case which Petrosky wishes he could forget, but the similarities and connection to another homicide make it undeniable that there is a copycat on the loose, but there are differences as well and that is what Petrosky is trying to focus on. As Petrosky tries to hold things together and investigate what he can, but after the waitresses body is found, he has to come face to face with an old adversary to get some answers, but while he is there, one of the worst things that could happen does when one of the ladies next door is kidnapped. Will Petrosky be able to follow the trails of breadcrumbs which are the only leads he has, or will he be too late to save his friend, lie all the others he has failed before and will he be able to stop his drinking before it leads him to oblivion? This is another thrilling chase to solve a crime where everything points to a killer who should be dead, but you will be hooked into the investigation as much as the detectives as time passes by.
Savage by Meghan O’Flynn will have you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning. If you love whodunit’s that leave you guessing until the very end then you will love this installment to the Ash Park series. Meghan O’Flynn certainly does not disappoint with her character descriptions and plot twists. Her character descriptions are so detailed that she will have you feeling worried, sad, excited, and every other emotion in between for her characters. But if you love books full of suspension, plot twists and turns, cops, and pages that keep you guessing then you will love Savage.
Savage (Ash Park Series Book 10) by Meghan O’Flynn. I love these books and I think each one gets better. I know when I start one I’m in for the long haul! This one was no exception but it was very emotional and hard to read at times. I felt worn out when I finished it. Its the continuing story of Petrosky who has seen way more than his share of grief. When he gets a call about a kidnapping of a waitress from a diner he frequents and she’s pregnant due any day he’s gets involved. Quickly finding the baby abandoned in a nearby cellar he’s afraid that means the waitress is already dead. Things start to add up and he begins to wonder if this is the same guy that killed his partner. When one of his neighbors is kidnapped he realizes it is the same serial killer and he’s terrified. This book will be best enjoyed if you read them all in order because they are soo good and you learn so much about the characters and if you are like me you will fall in love with them! I have loved every book so far in this series!

5 of 5 Stars
This is a gritty and complex crime thriller which had me hooked from page one. As a fan of this series of books I was looking forward to this latest instalment and was definitely not disappointed. I loved being back with Detective Edward Petrosky again as he is a great main character who brings so many different layers to the character. Although things are better for Petrosky he is still sneaking shots of whiskey but he’s solving homicides as quickly as ever. His professionalism is tested when a pregnant waitress from the diner he regularly visits is kidnapped and her newborn baby is found abandoned in a cellar with no sign of its mother. Petrosky recognises similarities between this case and an old one where a number of brutal abductions ended with a killer torturing young women to death in his basement. It was this savage killer who also killed his partner who he thought of as a son, but Petrosky watched the killer die himself so he wonders if this is a copycat killing. The case becomes even more personal for the Detective when one of his neighbours is kidnapped, a girl he sees as family. Clues left at the scene lead to the weapon used in his partners killing, confirming the link between the cases and Petrosky knows this is a warning.
I was gripped from start to finish and literally could not put this book down. The storyline was complicated and along with the dramatic plot twists I was kept guessing until the last page. It was a fast paced and exciting read and the descriptive narrative made me feel immersed in the storyline. An enjoyable and engaging novel which although part of a series can be read as a standalone story. However, I recommend not only this novel but the previous books in the ‘Ash Park’ series as well.
Savage is the 10th book in the fantastic Ash Park crime thriller series by Meghan Flynn. I came late to the party and have only read the 4 most recent books in this series but they have all been amazing and I think that Savage is my favourite of the 4 I have read.
Edward Petrosky is one amazing character that I just love reading. As much as I hate that he’s losing his battle with alcohol, it really makes for such compelling reading and draws me even further into the story.
In this book, a killer he caught in the past is coming back to haunt him in a big way and the victims are getting closer and closer to home, making Petrosky even more vulnerable. I think this is why this book is my favourite, the fact that the crimes are getting closer to him and his reaction to it had me totally gripped to this book. I just did not want to put it down. Why does real life have to get in the way of my reading?
I really hope Meghan O’Flynn continues with this series as I could read so much more of Edward Petrosky. If she doesn’t, I still have the first 6 books in the series to get more of my fix. Added to that, I’m the type of person who will read a book again if I’ve really enjoyed it and I will definitely be reading Savage again.
Savage
An Ash Park Novel
Volume 10
By Meghan O’Flynn
This is a full length suspenseful thriller. One you won’t soon forget. Not for those under 18 due to violence and subject matter. No spoilers in this review. You just need to read it to believe it.
Detective Petrosky is at it again. Each crime gets uglier, and some days he can’t get started without that much needed shot of whiskey. His partner keeps him on track and has his back. This time the crimes have a copycat. With slight changes that keep them on their toes. As the crimes get closer to Petrosky and his past, he must step it up and get a head of this killer. Read on to see if he can stop this killer.
Meghan O’Flynn has done it again. This may be the 10th book in this series, but I can guarantee this one will take you to new heights. While the characters keep it going. They are nothing without Meghan O’Flynn. This story will keep you reading. It will also get your heart racing and that cold chill as you read on. Many emotions are played with while reading this gripping story. I can hardly wait to see what happens next. Job Well Done Meghan O’Flynn. Well Done!
Savage (Ash Park Series Book 10) by Meghan O’Flynn
5 Stars
I was emotionally wrecked after finishing this book! Petrosky reached favorite leading man many books back, and because I feel so emotionally attached to him and these stories this one was my favorite and my least favorite of the entire series. How can that even make sense? The history of all of this series is always there eating at Petrosky and me as a reader, which explains why he stays a hot mess and takes me right along with him.
So you may not have to read the books before this one to fall into this book but you won’t get the whole effect of the emotional war taking place, so I highly recommend reading this entire series. It is seriously one of the absolute best series with some of the best writing you will ever experience in this genre. I have a few series I want to reread back to back and this one sits in my top three and have always said if this was a TV series, it would be binge worthy over and over again!
My thoughts are so jumbled so I’m not even going to try to sum this all up, but I will say it has everything and more you would want and even some things you might not even know you want.
They just keep getting better and better and better!
LOVED IT!!!!
I give Savage: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 10) by Meghan O’Flynn, 4 stars.
This is yet another gripping story in this suspenseful thriller series. Petrosky and friends are out to catch yet another killer who could be anyone. He seems to be hitting close home for Petrosky and as well as trying to figure put who is doing this and what will happen next, we see our favorite detective once again spiraling out of control. The suspense of what will happen to him also adds a layer of suspense onto an already gripping story.
If you are a fan of gripping detective thrillers with an original story and wonderful, characters, this book is for you.
As a massive Karen Slaughter and Tana French fan I was really looking forward to reading this. I haven’t read any of the previous Ash Park series novels but that wasn’t a problem as the book is easy to follow and anything that is mentioned from previous books is explained anyway. The writing is so clever I was kept in suspense through all the twists and turns of the book but was still able to keep up with the story. I definitely had no idea who the villain would turn out to be in the end and was pleasantly surprised when they were revealed. I really liked Petrosky as a protagonist. He has likable qualities but at the same time battles his demons and I found him realistic as a lead detective who has worked on the cases of the calibre he has. I am very interested to read the rest of the Ash Park series and will keep my eye out for the next instalment.

Five Stars
Savage is the tenth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. First, I want to say this is my favorite book of this series. Ms. O’Flynn can really weave a detailed, keep you on the edge of your seat psychological thriller. I think you need to read this series in order because there is a bunch of backstory that you pick up in the first nine books. But it is still a really good story if you just want to jump in, you just wont get all of the nuances that the author uses in her book. This book had me guessing until the end. Detective Petrosky is back and a killer is drawing him in. Will he be able to solve this case before he gets pulled into the rabbit hole? I highly recommend this book, series and author.
The author does it again. I cannot get enough of the Ash Park series and this book somehow topped its predecessors. Never sure how author continues to making every book better than the last – but she does it! Petrosky is a mess and the ride this book takes you on is one you won’t be able to walk away from. From beginning to end, this five star read is one you will want to read over and over again.
