I’m Sonni, but I’ve been called many other names. Reject. Problematic. Orphan. Murderer.I didn’t have a plan, never had the luxury. So, when my case worker moved me to Harper Valley Safe Haven as a last resort, I knew I’d leave. I had to. Small towns aren’t for people trying to stay hidden, trying to escape the system and start a new life. But Six had other plans. I shouldn’t have agreed to help … help him. I should have ran the moment I saw those eyes, but he claims to know things, stuff no one else would know. My real name– Saturn, my history with the law, and worst of all… he knows who my mother is.WARNING: Saturn and Her Rings is book two of the Mended Universe series. It is a standalone enemies-to-lovers/bully romance. Reading Jupiter and Her Moons prior is beneficial, but not necessary. Reader discretion is advised. This book contains mature content and themes some may find offensive, distressing, and a potential trigger. Recommended for 18+.

WTF?! SATURN AND HER RINGS by B.L Mute BLEW ME AWAY Yet AGAIN with this One!!
Sonni’s Story is Beautifully written but has Trigger warnings that revolves disturbing scenes from rape to abandonment to bullying to pedophile situations. This BOOK is NOT for the Faint of Hearts with its Dark side effects. Sonni does Not have an easy life and never a Dull moment page after page what goes on.
This Book is so Different than what I have been reading but is Such a Emotional Rollercoaster ride of TWISTS AND TURNS INTO the UNKNOWN that Have your Jaw Dropping several times.
If you haven’t read B.L Mute before, then you Need to Start and you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! A MUST READ BOOK AND Series!!
This is book 2 in the Mended Universe series. Starts when Sonni is 17 and is put into a group home. She already doesn’t like it but would rather deal with this then go back to a foster home. Sonni has been in and out of foster homes and been through so much. Make sure you are ready for all the bad Sonni was put through. This was a fast read but you will be sucked in with so many emotions.
Saturn and Her Rings (Mended Universe Book 2)
BL Mute
This book will have you feeling many different emotions, and you would do well to read the authors note about triggers before start reading the book. I wan engrossed and could not put it down. I love the way BL Mute writes, and I often felt I was right there with Sonni (Saturn). Sonni grew up in foster care and to say she was dealt a bad deck could possibly be putting it mildly. Life for her was anything but Rainbows and Unicorns. She pretty much trusts no one. She’s not happy when she winds up at Harper Valley Safe Haven, she has no plans to stay, but getting real food and a place to sleep for free and only having to talk to Dr. Walker eventually wins her over at least for a while. She’s not enthused to find out she has a roommate, but eventually her and Alex become friends. Six is what everyone thinks of as the typical bad boy, but he falls for Sonni’s charms right away. They have more in common than she thinks, and will eventually find that out. Six promises her something if she helps him out, and even though she knows she should stay away she can’t because she is very attracted to him. Their chemistry is felt through the book pages. I am hoping to learn more about Saturn, Jupiter and Six in future books, as I feel like there is so much more to delve into with all three characters. Great read, and if you pick it up, I hope you enjoy it too.
This book is a good read and the sad and horrible parts of Sonnies’ life comes in pieces so it easy to keep reading and enjoying the story even though I know it has been a rough life for her. But from reading the first book I know her mother had a rough life and just couldn’t keep her and I don’t want to say much more as that is going to come up later in the book. This story was well written and very entertaining even though the sad moments. Sonnies living differently now at safe haven with her new friends and I know even through the bad in her story there always came something good .
WOW!!! I love this series! This book was so phenomenal! I was so torn in the beginning with my feelings for this book. One minute I was super sad for Saturn and the next minute I was sooo happy for her!!! She got her HEA in the end which was AMAZING!!! I so wish there was a third book to this series to do a further look into her and Six’s future life together! Such a great book! Definitely a must!
Saturn and Her Rings is the second book in the Mended Universe series. It was definitely both a deep and emotional read about a girl who grew very in a tough childhood and her journey to building herself and finding love. She does have a lot of obstacles and emotional baggage to get over though to be able to find her happiness . This book also falls in the enemies-to-lovers genre which added a new dimension to the story.
Another great book to the series. Trust me when I say that you will love this book. I started this late one night and found myself still reading the next morning; it was that good. I simply could not put it down. Fantastic book and highly recommended.
I enjoyed this book even though it is different from the genre I usually read. It was a fast-paced, well-written story that kept my interest from the beginning. This is the second book in this series but you don’t have to read it to enjoy this one.
An emotional read about a girl over coming a rough childhood and finding love. This story is definitely full of emotional baggage that Sonni must work to leave in the past but she is strong and finds her HEA. A bully romance (enemies-to-lovers) genre this is not typically my go to but it wasn’t too bad, just a bit rushed.
This is a raw thriller, which hits upon more than one sensitive topic, reveals scars, and throws a girl onto a very gripping roller coaster ride.
Sonni has been in the ‘system’ since she was very young, and it has not been kind to her. From foster parents to homes, she’s only experienced monstrosities, which would leave anyone broken. Now placed in a shelter for women and girls, things are supposed to be easier until she turns eighteen, but she’s been fooled too often to trust anyone. When she meets Six at a party, an arrogant jerk who thinks any girl will fall to his desires, her life takes a term which could leave her more broken than before. If that’s possible.
This was a harsh read and holds many disturbing scenes and triggers ranging from rape (in many directions) to abandonment to bullying to pedophile atrocities. No stones seem to be left unturned and readers should be aware of that before picking this one up.
Also, I just noticed that this is the second book in the series while posting this review. In other words, it can be read as a stand alone without any problem.
This is a book which digs deep, can be a bit disturbing, and does keep the reader at the edge of the seat. Sonni has baggage. Tons of it. Despite her walls, she does leave room for cracks to form and while trust is not something is easily earned, her yearning for love does get the best of her. Or maybe not. It’s an intriguing dance with players which might be bad or good. The author keeps it hard to tell, who she can trust and who she can’t. There’s always hope, which balances the darker shadows of the tale. The ending holds major surprises and wraps up many loose ends. While I did wonder if all of the themes had to be brought into play and try to avoid books like this one in general, it was well laid out and written. It’s definitely not the kind of book easily laid to the side, and one that leaves an impression.
This book will bring out every single feeling and emotion you have. It was such a good read that you won’t want to put it down once you start it. Have those Kleenex handy and be prepared for a massive book hangover (In a good way). Great writing has you feeling what the characters are feeling and you feel you are living this story right along with them.
Unique Storytelling captivates you, even with harsh reality and tough truths. This is not an easy read if you aren’t prepared, so heed the Author’s warning if the subject matter is a trigger. The world is not always sunshine and rainbows as we see in Sonni’s story. She has gone through more than any 17 year old should have to, but she endures and with the help of Silas (Six), Dr Keller and even Alex she starts to soar. The surprise twists in this one held my attention and kept me swiping pages. I enjoy a story that makes me take time to think about and process what I’ve just read, I am looking forward to what comes next in the Mended Universe series…
Sonni has not had an easy life. She bottles up all her emotions and doesn’t let anyone get close to her. Six is now living the easy life but the past was not so easy. When he meets Sonni he bullys her into helping him. Will it end well?
This read will have you feeling so many emotions for the characters. It will put you through the wringer. There is just the right amount of angst to keep you reading.
This book starts off running. Sonni meets Sexy Six and her life is changed. For better or worse…. we find out as the book progresses. She’s been broken down and she finds her way to rebuild. The twists that come are good and makes it all fit
Sonni and six that story has some twists! Both grew up in the system lack of trusts. Sonni was told to stay away from this boy but will she when he has some great info for her!
Saturn aka Sonni has grown up in the system and had some pretty terrible foster parents over the years. When she moves into Harper Valley she knows she won’t stay but she is going to take advantage of the regular meals and security for a short time. Six also grew up in the system and has a traumatic past. Sonni wants to hate him except he has information she wants.
I read Jupiter and Her Moons previously so was excited to jump into Saturn and Her Rings. BL Mute has a unique way to telling a story and I love her style. You can read as a standalone but will definitely love the surprise connection if you have read Jupiter and Her Moons. This was an easy read and I couldn’t put it down. Looking forward to the next installment in this great series.
This was a fantastic book! I’m so amazed that Sonni was able to cope and find happiness in her life worh everything that had happened to her. Beautiful story!
4 Stars for Saturn and Her Rings . I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions stated are my own. This is my first book from this author and I enjoyed the story. Ok Sonni / Saturn has had a rough life , growing up in the foster care system. She has suffered more that any one person should. She is finally at a place where it might be ok . She is about to be 18 and age out anyway she just has to make it the next few weeks with out trouble. Well guess what I’m come Six/Silas , trouble in the form of hot male . Everyone warns Sonni that Six is trouble but she is drawn to him or he won’t leave her alone , with ever way you look at it. Six wants her help with something and will do anything to get it even blackmail . What happens when feelings develop.
Ok so this was a faced paced story , that had a great story line. I did feel it was a little rushed and the characters love story was underdeveloped but I wouldn’t say it would of changed the outcome or anything. I just personally like a love story to have a little more depth. The story was well written and held me captive . I just wanted more. I do look forward to reading more from this author
Sonnis Universe has been nothing but tragedy, trials, and trauma. There are a number of triggers in this storyline- “accidents”, rape, etc. You need to know going in. She is ‘lucky’ to have survived this far and only has weeks to go before she can be legally on her own. Six is an anomaly she didn’t account for and is nothing but trouble. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
The characters are intriguing and the trials pull at your heartstrings. The ‘love’ story isn’t quite as in depth as I’d have like to see but was still okay. Their are so many twists and turns in the storyline that it keeps you interested and is an overall quick/easy read.
