From USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy comes a steamy contemporary romance featuring a brooding hero with too much baggage, a spirited heroine who is always up for adventure, and a sexy-as-hell road trip that will change their lives forever.Maisie Carter has always been a free spirit. An artist by nature, she has no idea what she’s doing as co-owner of Three Chicks Brewery. But she’s … Brewery. But she’s determined to prove to her older sisters that she can be an asset to their grandfather’s beer legacy. The best way to do that? Make the rounds at Colorado’s craft brewery festivals and turn Foxy Diva, their top beer, into an award winner. Unfortunately, after more than one “beer mishap,” it becomes clear that she’s going to need some help.
Hayes Taylor knows he has a chip on his shoulder, but he has no interest in working through his traumatic past. He just wants to work on his horse farm, alone. The last thing he needs in his life is a woman, especially his dead wife’s best friend, the sweet-as-pie Maisie Carter. But she’s always brought out his protective instincts, and he can hardly say ‘no’ when she asks for his help…
As the two embark on the festival tour, beer filled days turn into lust filled nights, and neither Maisie nor Hayes can deny their growing attraction. But Hayes knows love leads to heartbreak…. Can Maisie show him that their love is worth the risk?

Three Chicks Brewery by Stacey Kennedy is one series worth getting right now filled with yes, tons of delicious beer but we see three sisters with a dream that may seem impossible but worth it. We start with Maisie first and by all counts should not be in this business but dang is she determined to prove she can do it too. Seeing her struggling and not giving up on making the brewery succeed is awesome then we have her Knight in Shining Armor, Hayes. Now here is a man who is full of bravery, courage and yet in many ways is afraid to love again. He loves Maisie but afraid to really go all the way in because of what happened with his wife. The love he has is strong and yet no matter how hard he tries he cannot stay away from Maisie. All in all these two are perfect in every way and Stacey Kennedy sure knows how to kick them in the behind and finally let go. Loved it and cannot wait for Clara’s story next in this beautiful series.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
Love this series
Loved it!
Sorry, I just couldn’t get into this book.
I thought this was a really good book, and a really great start to the Three Chicks Brewery Series.
I haven’t read anything else by Stacey Kennedy before but i am already a fan of how she writes. Love after such a tragic loss is hard for anyone, but Maisie and Hayes were there for each other picking up the pieces, a really beautiful story that was put together perfectly, i just wish there was more steamy scenes but overall loved Sassy Blonde cant wait for Clara’s story!
I wasn’t sure if I was going to be a fan of this book, but Stacey just blew me away! Hayes & Maisie had such a difficult journey to their HEA but each moment was so heartbreakingly beautiful. Hayes had to overcome so much guilt & grief. GAHHHH…I loved every moment of this book. This was the first in the series and I’m so excited to see what happens next!
Maisie and Hayes have been through a lot together. After the horrible murder of Hayes’ wife and Maisie’s best friend Laurel, the two of them have become the closest of friends. They have been able to help each other through their darkest days while grieving Laurel. Recently both of them have started to feel like their relationship may be growing into more.
Maisie has spent the past couple of years working with her two sisters on their new business venture: Three Chicks Brewery. But while she loves her sisters dearly, she has never felt like she really fits in. Maisie has always been a dreamer and an artist. Prior to Laurel’s death, they had planned to open an art studio and coffee shop together. But that dream died with Laurel, or so Maisie had assumed.
The brewery is participating in three important beer festivals around Colorado, which will hopefully allow them enough publicity to reach out to a distributor. The task of getting to the festivals and being the face of their brand falls to Maisie. In some ways it’s perfect for her, as she is a natural with people, but she is also super accident prone and disorganized. After Hayes is thrown from a horse and is forced to take a few days off from his job, he is free to come along and help Maisie.
Hayes is carrying a secret about the circumstances of Laurel’s murder, and he is terrified to tell Maisie, because he blames himself. If she blames him too, he isn’t sure he can survive the pain of losing her. His secret is why he walked away from his career as a cop after Laurel’s death. It also holds him back from giving himself completely to Maisie. She can feel him holding back, but she doesn’t know why.
Both Hayes and Maisie have to learn to stop holding back. Hayes is holding himself back from Maisie because he is afraid of telling his secret. Maisie is holding herself back from doing what she is meant to do – create beauty in her world. As her beloved grandfather, Pops, told her “You looked at something broken, and made it beautiful. That’s your gift to the world.”
Once they both stop holding back, their relationship grows into a special and wonderful love. I can’t wait to see what happens with Maisie’s sisters in the upcoming Three Chicks Brewery books!
Sassy Blonde by Stacey Kennedy is book 1 in the Three Chicks Brewery series. This is Hayes Taylor and Maisie Carter’s story. Maisie is the youngest Carter sister and Hayes is her deceased BFF’s widower. Maisie was there for Hayes during his darkest days of grief and now that the raw, dark grief has lifted…their friendship has turned into something more. The chemistry between them is sparking, sizzling. It’s not like they have rainbows and unicorns in their lives now because they don’t- they are struggling with grief still, with pursuing the feelings that they have. Oh the guilt that they both feel… this story has the emotional rollercoaster ride but what a way to go. Maisie is full of feels, hope, sweetness…Hayes is dark, sensual, raw and magnetic. They balance each other out. I do not want to spoil the rest of the story but it’s really good. I can’t wait for book 2.

Great start to a new trilogy, Three Chicks Brewery, from Stacey Kennedy! It’s all about family, friendships and fate.
After the heartbreaking loss of her best friend, Maisie Carter did her best to move on. She’s thrown herself into the brewery left to she and her two sisters, by her beloved Pops, but her heart isn’t in it. She’s an artist not a brewmaster or accountant. As much as she wants to help get everything off the ground, it seems she’s Calamity Maisie, with one accident after another. She’ll have to rely on her good friend, Hayes, to help her through the coming months. Just one problem though, he’s her dead friend’s husband and the feelings she’s started to feel for him are a LOT more than friendly.
Hayes Taylor was married to the love of his life and a dedicated, successful cop until one decision cost him everything. Now his wife is gone and he’s finally getting back on his feet thanks to a little help from a friend. His dead wife’s best friend. Maisie is as steady as the mountains and lights up his life like sunshine. He’s finally forgiven himself for his feelings for her but he can’t move forward with her. No way, not when just touching her could hurt her immeasurably. He wouldn’t survive if she found out his secret and he lost her too.
Really great book full of complex emotions, great friends helping you through the hard times and redemptive love. Hayes and Maisie were beautiful together and I loved reading their HEA. Can’t wait for more from this exciting trilogy; Fiesty Red sounds like a doozy!

Maisie was such a refreshing character. I loved her optimism, her joy for life, & her overall outlook. She gave so much of herself to everyone in her life, I just wanted them to give something back. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of her sisters, but I understand not all siblings are super close.
Hayes lived with so much guilt over the past. It was nice to see Maisie bring him out of his shell & into the future. This was such a different read than what I’ve been reading this year but it was really enjoyable.
I received an arc of this book in return for an honest review.
Sassy Blonde by Stacey Kennedy is the First book in the Three Chicks Brewery Series. This is the story of Hayes Taylor and Maisie Carter. Taylor is a widower who has some issues but just wants pretty much to be left alone on his ranch. Maisie was his wife’s best friend and when she comes looking for help he can’t seem to turn her away. Maisie is out to prove that she can be a asset to the legacy of their grandfather’s brewer just like her sisters. Enjoyed this book and always a fan of this authors writing.
Sassy Blonde is the first in the new Three Chicks Brewery series by Stacey Kennedy. Before this series ends, I’m sure each of the ‘Three Chicks’ will find their HEA.
Maisie is the youngest of the three sisters who are ‘Three Chicks Brewery’, trying to fulfill their, and their recently deceased Grandfather’s, dream.
Maisie is, at heart, an artist and struggles to find her place within the family business, especially since she and her best friend Laurel had plans of their own. Plans that came to a premature end when Laurel was brutally murdered.
Hayes Taylor, Laurel’s widower, has survived the death of his young wife but only with the help and support of Maisie.
Sassy Blonde illustrates how that even from tragedy can, with healing, sprout a new and inspiring love.
Maisie’s quirky humour and ‘accident prone’ life is balanced with Hayes’ need to protect her from harm and cherish their new found love.
I thoroughly enjoyed the debut novel of this new series. As well as the story of Maisie and Hayes who find love after terrible grief, we also have an insight into the novels to come. I’m looking forward to reading what Stacey Kennedy has in store for the remaining Carter sisters.
Sassy Blonde is the first book in the Three Chicks Brewery series and it is a sweet small town romance story that I thoroughly enjoyed! Stacey Kennedy is a new author to me and I can definitely say I am a fan and am looking forward to the next books in this series!
Hayes and Maisie have both suffered a great loss. It is the process of healing that has brought them closer together, has lead them to what finally makes them happy and opened up their hearts to the possibility of finding love again!
I really liked this book, the story was intriguing and it kept me hooked until the very end!
Sassy Blonde is a fabulous read. I loved every moment of this one. There is a lot of heart and healing going on in this one. Plus you these amazing sisters of the Three Chicks Brewery. This is Maisie’s book. She feels like she doesn’t fit with the company or her sisters. She has her own path she wants to take. Maisie will put a smile on your face with a few mishaps she goes through. Then there is Hayes her best friends husband. You feel for him with everything he goes through. He is still grieving the lost of his wife and walking away from the job he loves. Maisie and Hayes help each other heal. They have this slow build attraction that you feel from the start. Maisie and Hayes are amazing together as they work to help put the Three Chicks Brewery on the map. This is just the first book in this series and I for one can’t wait for the next book.

This was my first book by Stacey Kennedy and it certainly won’t be my last. Sassy Blonde takes place in beautiful River Rock, Colorado. I was immediately drawn to the town. Beautiful descriptive scenery that made me want to go visit myself. Maisie is one of three sisters whom are trying to live out their Grandfather’s wish with Three Chicks Brewery. Maisie hasn’t always been passionate about the brewery. She has been passionate about art and has always been a free spirted person. Her love of art has taken a back burner since the death of her best friend Laurel. I loved Maisie. She is caring and passionate. She has a beautiful selfless heart and has been helping Hayes get through the terrible loss of his wife, Laurel. Hayes is suffering. He is hugely burdened with his late wife’s death and doesn’t know how to forgive himself. I didn’t expect the heavy emotion within this story. It took me by surprise in a good way. The connection between Hayes and Maisie has always been there. They are both struggling with what Laurel would think of them together. The chemistry between them in undeniable. Stacey Kennedy has written an incredibly emotional, raw and real love story and set up the framework for Maisie’s sisters stories perfectly. I cannot wait to read Clara & Sullivan’s story next in Feisty Red.
Strong women with sensitive hearts and a fighting spirit. The Three Chicks Brewery series is off to a fiery start. Love lost. Hope found. A second chance waiting to be revealed. Maisie and Hayes have struggled with heartache and insecurity. Tragedy has united them. Will romance heal them? Kennedy speaks to the emotional side of romance. With a smart mouth, a strong will and a wicked sense of humor, Sassy Blonde sets the heart on fire.
I’ve read every word Stacey has published probably more than once lol I love her. I love that she can write sexy with emotion, kinky with emotion, sweet with emotion … I think you get where I’m going with this. No matter what she writes, there is always a level of emotion that blindsides me, not because I don’t expect it, but because I never know how deep it will cut me. Sassy Blonde cut deep for me. The story itself packs a punch all on its own but Stacey double downed with both Maisie and Hayes. A year ago I suffered an unimaginable loss and to be quite honest, I don’t even know how I’ve survived it thus far. When I read this story, I felt every word deep in my soul, not because I had gone thru the exact case, but because I had lost, and it was/is buried deep in my soul.
I loved Maisie for her strength, her spirit, her heart, her determination, and her willingness to put everyone else ahead of herself. She was easy to love and root for. Hayes was a man with an unimaginable burden on his soul. He could not let go of the past to see the future. It was heart-breaking to be in his head; the loss and guilt was overwhelming. Their journey was not an easy one, but it was always laced with a could of hope. The layers in this story gave it a depth I was not expecting but was grateful for. It is never easy moving on from your past, especially one as tragic as theirs, but Stacey wrote a story that allowed them to move thru it and grow from it. There’s a saying that kept flowing thru my head when I read this book … “out of the ashes …”. That’s Maisie and Hayes and their story is beautifully told.
Wow I knew going in this would be a hard read… but no words can sum it up. To endure and push forward like these ladies have is awesome to read. It’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes, that’s when the people who truly love you will take your hand and walk with you.
This book is for me the best story from River Rock. Maisie and Hayes are both great easy to fall in love with. The story is funny, sweet, and develops beautifully. We see their journey how they meet, how they connect, and how their love start and blossoms. I loved reading it, it is great for sunny summer afternoons.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
