Christmas is the season of giving, but Sara isn’t sure she is up to the task.
Playing secret angel in high school was fun, and now, years later, Sara has the opportunity to do it once more on a bigger scale. She enlists the help of Gabe, her long-time best friend, to come up with a deserving recipient. But something is off with Gabe–he’s more attentive than usual.
The Christmas season has put Gabe in a reflective mood. His evaluation of his life has left him lonely and wanting more. But can his heart have its desire? That’s up to Sara.
Can these two long-time best friends navigate their changing relationship, or will the romance Grinch steal their Christmas joy?

Long time friends, Gabe and Sara, are wonderful, generous protagonists as they fight their attraction for each other because they don’t think their love is reciprocated. Join them as Sara fulfills a friend’s legacy of anonymously blessing a family at Christmas! I enjoyed this contemporary Christmas book and recommend it to others. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
The Christmas novella series of 6 books that includes Sara’s Gift is a fun series to read. Although it is a quick read, Sara’s Gift allows the readers to get to know the characters involved. The book reminds the reader of the importance of giving over receiving. This book also touched me spiritually. If you want a renewal of what Christmas is all about, this is the book for this season.
This is another one of the sweet, heartwarming stories by this author that I have come to expect! It has been fun to read more about Sara and Gabe, as well as “look around” the Gifts N’ More store and visit the Cozy Coffee Shop again! There are wonderful themes of forgiveness, trusting God for even the little details, seeking His guidance when He puts desires in our hearts, knowing that love is a choice we make – especially to love our spouses and to stay true to our commitment to them. This quote stood out to me: “Sara’s rejection had wounded him, but being reminded of Jesus’ love for him made it sting a little less.” When we realize just how much we have been forgiven because of Jesus’ love, it is so much easier to forgive others. Gabe’s prayer is really good: “Please heal my heart and help me to forgive the pain her rejection caused.” Sometimes we know we have hurts but don’t recognize that we are fostering unforgiveness because of them. These are some of the simple yet powerful truths that are written in this novella! Love the Christmas setting and the act of secretly blessing someone else during this season. It is a story to warm your heart!
A precious story that gave me a giving spirit. I love the concept of this storyline and especially at this time of year. Sara’s Gift is Book Four in the Small-Town Christmas Wishes Series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and I recommend it for others to read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This review is one hundred percent my opinion.
A sweet holiday treat!
It seems I’ve been reading a huge number of books lately with extremely serious subject matter. And I was needing a break. Fortunately for me, I had a copy of Kimberly Rose Johnson’s newest book waiting for me…
This sweet story encompasses the best aspects of holiday stories: God’s love, giving, and romance! I found it humorous that Sara was so worried about finding the right recipient for the gift she was tasked with giving because she clearly she loved to give and to bless others. Then again, this was part of what made her so endearing.
Best friends falling in love with each other is a favorite trope of mine, so I was already predisposed to enjoy this story. The great relationship Gabe and Sara had, the way they complimented each other so well, helped each other so naturally, and the way they simply enjoyed each other made it clear to pretty much everyone (except Sara!) that they were in love. And I wanted their relationship to turn into something more.
My one disappointment with Sara’s Gift was that things were not more developed though I understand this isn’t always possible with a novella.
While you will want to read this yourself, it would also make a nice gift for readers you know who might also want a sweet holiday treat.

Sweet and endearing story. A decision of what to do with a special gift brings blessings to the giver and the receivers. This is a great story to read any time of the year. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
Sara is left money to use to play secret Santa. She asks her best friend Gabe to help her to who to help and how. I loved their friendship. He was just such a great guy and my heart felt for him. Loved it when she had her ah ha moment and didn’t waste any time. The ending was so sweet!!!
What would you do if a friend, who had just passed away, left a letter and fifteen hundred dollars instructing you to use the funds to be a secret angel at Christmas for a needy family? Sara’s friend, Charity, had done just that, and Sara was struggling with how to go about carrying out her deceased friend’s request. I would be just like Sara’s best friend, Gabe. He suggested she have the attorney give the money to a worthy cause, but Sara was having no part of that. Although she had no idea where to even find a family who needed help, she wanted to experience the joy of being able to help someone in a personal way. The book shares a wonderful insight into the true meaning of Christmas and the great joy of helping those less fortunate. Although the book is short, the message is powerful. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.
