He promised her his heart. She promised him a son. But how long must they wait?
When Abram finally requests the hand of his beautiful half sister Sarai, she asks one thing–that he promise never to take another wife as long as she lives. Even Sarai’s father thinks the demand is restrictive and agrees to the union only if she makes a promise in return–to give Abram a son and heir. Certain she … Certain she can easily do that, Sarai agrees.
But as the years stretch on and Sarai’s womb remains empty, she becomes desperate to fulfill her end of the bargain, lest Abram decide that he will not fulfill his. To what lengths will Sarai go in her quest to bear a son? And how long will Abram’s patience last?
Combining in-depth research and vivid storytelling, Jill Eileen Smith brings to life the beautiful and inscrutable Sarai in this remarkable story of love, jealousy, and undaunted faith.

Fictional story woven around real Bible story and characters. I loved how Ms. Smith made the characters come alive and how she depicted each scene making them as realistic and close to the Bible as she could while embellishing just enough to fill in the gaps of things unmentioned creating an enthralling story line. Wonderful piece of work! I am …
I love stories from the bible and this one shows that anything is possible.
Biblical Fiction is a genre I read every now and then. I have my favorite authors and I pretty much stick to them, but at the beginning of the year I committed to reading more Biblical Fiction to accompany the read through the Bible plan I was doing. My first book was Sarai by Jill Eileen Smith and I enjoyed it very much!
The story begins …
Jill Smith uses scriptures and fictionally fills In details about women of the bible. Most women in The Bible are very basically introduced. Sarai’s story is logically and realistically completed. The telling of this story comes to life and deserves praise for bringing interest to the actual Sarai.
These old Biblical stories I have heard all my life just come to new life with these stories by this author love them all.
The entire series is excellent. I recommend all of her books.
I really think this Biblical story of Abraham and Sarah is Jill’s best. I read all of her books that come out in LARGR PRINT
very good and quite close to Biblical.
Excellent read! I loved how the story evolved so naturally yet stuck closely to the true biblical text.
Very inspiring. I felt like I was right in the story living it out day by day with the characters. I would highly recommend reading it.
