The perfect series finale!
After falling in love with the BAM boys, I was so intrigued by the woman who formed them, who kept them on the path to astronomical success in love and life. I was not disappointed. In fact, this book exceeded all expectations and made me fall in love with them all over again. This is a story about love in all it’s glory, in all it’s forms, in all its glorious stages of life.
After some waiting, Sandy’s story is here. Yes! I have loved reading all the books in the Vested Interest series, and this one is no exception. I loved reading and following Sandy and Jordan in their second chance at love for both of them. Melanie Moreland knows how to draw us into her characters stories and I look forward to reading more of her books.
You know that feeling you get when your favorite television series ends? Like you want to know how it all turns out in the end, but you’re dreading it because you know that it will be “the end?” That’s the feeling I had as I approached reading Sandy. I have become so invested in Vested Interest and have loved every minute of their stories. I was happy to see Sandy get center stage, and I really appreciated a mature romance. In some ways, it just seemed more sensible than other romances. The message of it’s never too late for a second chance at happiness is heartfelt and pure. I’m going to miss this series (but thank goodness for re-reads). Now the author can work on BAM: The Next Generation
I really loved this book. I loved that the characters were older than the norm.
The second act springs forth from friendship to flame!
Melanie is just determined to make us go thru the tissues when we read her books, and Sandy is definitely no different. It is full of heart and family and love and humor.
Ever since Max passed, I’ve been waiting for Sandy’s second chance at romance because there was no way she was being left on the shelf to collect dust.
This was everything I’d hoped for!!
She and Jordan, once fellow widowers sharing their grief, become everything the other needs. They loved their spouses but they’re still young and both of them are lonely.
I love how the ‘boys’ react initially to their Sandy rejoining the world of dating. That the women are the ones who get things moving. And that Jordan is already part of the family.
Heartwarming and passionate and absolutely, fantabulous!! Stars to infinity!
It was fantastic reading a book with an actual mature couple in it too!! And, omgoodness, they are just as passionate as everyone else!!
Loved, loved, loved!! Frisky, fiesty, fun, and fabulous!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
4 Stars!
Sandy Preston lives in Toronto, and is the assistant at a company where she is the right hand to four partners. She handled their schedules, and made their lives run smoothly, but they were also like family. The BAM boys loved her and were fiercely protective. They noticed for some time now she wasn’t quite herself and they were all concerned.
Lately happiness seemed difficult to find and even harder to hold on to. Sandy’s entire world changed over a year ago when she became a widow, and she’s been trying to find her footing ever since. Her spark is missing, and she knows it’s time to finally move forward. She finds a kindred spirit in her co-worker Jordan Hayes. They are close in age, and have a lot in common. He’s a wonderful man, and a great friend. Both are lonely and looking for companionship, and soon Sandy notices she’s smiling again. For the first time in a while, she didn’t feel alone. The passion that was missing in her life is back, and she feels alive again. Can they let go of the past and look toward the future to create their own memories and build something special together that is just their own?
Sandy (Vested Interest #7) by Melanie Moreland is a heartwarming office romance with emotion, humor, and chemistry. It’s about love, loss, friendship, and second chances. This is the final Vested Interest Book, and the perfect ending to an amazing series! I was so happy to finally get Sandy’s HEA!
After the romances of all the male BAM guys, Melanie Moreland has turned her attention to the woman who keeps the office running and the guys in line, assistant Sandy. Sandy is the motherly woman who lost the love of her life, her husband Max. After years of mourning him, she is ready to get back into life and love and does it BAM style.
Sandy is an emotional, beautiful story of starting over after grief and loss and doing it with a joyful, open heart. This story takes two widowers, Sandy and Jordan (who also works for BAM), and gives them a second lease on life. Jordan is in his fifties the same as Sandy and has been interested in her for some time but since he isn’t an untested boy, he has patience and understanding. Jordan lost his wife a few years ago and knows the process Sandy is working through.
There are laughs and tears, alongside a bit of heat with this last of the BAM series. All of the boys, Adian, Bentley, Maddox, and Reid make appearances along with their wives to make sure that the woman who has become such an integral part of their lives gets her happily ever after too. If you love the BAM series this is a must read!
Sandy: Vested Interest Book 7
This is a story where kismet, serendipity and destiny work to move grief as a barrier to bring love to two lives. A second chance for love, for Sandy Preston and Jordan Hayes, both having faced one of life’s worst opponents, grief.
Sandy was the neighbor of three students who couldn’t sort laundry for the life of them. She taught them how to separate colors and white’s and that lesson in laundry set up an entire series of books where those same three students went on to form a company where they each brought something to the table. The best thing they brought to BAM was Sandy.
Sandy was like a mother not just to Bentley, Aiden, and Maddox, but eventually to their wives and children, like the mother or grandmother that held them all together. As time passed there were others that became family, Reid, the one who touched everyone’s heart and was very special to Sandy, then Van who was such a hard worker and then Halton and Fee, last to join the BAM family but welcomed members. All of these people became Sandy’s family. It was evident to everyone however that it was Sandy who was the heart and soul of BAM,
When Sandy’s beloved husband Max died, it was the boys and girls of BAM who where there for her when she needed help, support or advice. The one thing that was the hardest to help with though was Sandy’s grief at the loss of Max. Sandy was at a point in time where she now needed to move forward to find herself, to get the woman she was back again. During a girls afternoon at the Four Season’s having massages and pedicures the conversation came up about Sandy finding someone who could be a friend, a companion, a person who enjoyed the same things she did and possibly of more. She allowed the girls to put an app on her phone
Jordan has worked for BAM for a number of years now. His job was keeping the paperwork and permits in order. He worked closely with Van and with Bentley. Jordan had great respect for Sandy, he found her intelligent, driven, kind and he respected her. He appreciated the time she had spent with him when his wife died a few years before Max did, so Jordan was there for Sandy after Max died.
Recently Jordan also thought that maybe, if he was lucky enough he might be able to move from just being a friend to Sandy, being someone who bit more special and help her back into beginning to live her life again. So he bided his time, until the day that Van came into the office and told Jordan about the dating app.
Jordan asked Sandy to lunch. They use to have the odd lunch together, he was someone she knew and was comfortable with and could already be considered a friend, was this the time to see if they might become more than friends?
Melanie Moreland brings the reader along on this wonderful, emotional journey of new love and moving on. Of old memories and new ones being made. A journey that shows that it is possible to have more than one love in your life, yet not forgetting your first love, and creating beautiful memories and continue to live your life while not losing your past.
Did I cry? Are there stars in the sky? I’m tearing up again just writing this. Know this though, yes, the end of this book means the men and women of BAM are moving on but we will always know how to find them when we open the cover of the BAM series and start this special journey with them again and again.
This book in itself is deserving of 100 stars, five stars just isn’t enough. What is enough though is the praise and support we readers give to authors like Melanie Moreland because they are the people that bring us these heartwarming, emotional stories.
I was given an advanced reader copy of this book to read and review. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Throughout this entire series, Sandy has been a prominent feature. The mom to all of the amazing characters I love so much.
I can’t think of two characters that deserve a HEA more than Sandy and Jordan. They deserve to share all of the love they have with others and continue to grow this family they’ve created.
I had said that the epilogue for It Started with a Kiss was the greatest epilogue of all time. And that was true. Until I read the epilogue for Sandy. I have never felt so reluctant to finish a book in my life. I have loved every second of this series and I don’t want to let them go. I will miss these characters more than I can even say but I’m so happy to see what life has become for all of the BAM family.
I have enjoyed this series immensely. This 5 star story had me reading non stop until I saw the end.
Sandy is BAM administrative assistant and adopted mother to all the BAM owners. After her husband passed away she never found anyone that could measure up to him. Jordan is a widow and works at BAM. He’s attracted to Sandy. He gets up the courage to ask her out but is she ready.
This was a beautifully written story about 2 people finding each other later in life. Grief is dealt differently by each and everyone. Sandy was very conflicted but she’s lonely. All around her have family’s. I loved these amazing characters. Jordan was in love with her and would have done anything for her. His actions speaks louder then his words. A great love story. It was also an added bonus that I got to see where all the other characters from previous stories are at.
Although it’s part of a series and it can be read as a standalone but for better enjoyment they should all be read in order. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Reading Sandy is bittersweet. It is a sweet second chance romance for two mature people who feel like they had already found the love of their lives. But is one great love all each of us is allowed?
“Loving again isn’t a betrayal to Max, Sandy. It’s a tribute. It shows how well he loved you.”
Sandy also marks the end of the Vested Interest Series. The last story featuring BAM. Every character from the series makes at least a cameo. We get to see where everyone is, where they are going and say goodbye as the series ends.
Sandy was “the glue that holds the place together.”
This story definitely brought out all the feels. I laughed, swooned and cried, but in the end my heart felt lighter. A beautiful ending to a favorite series!
-5 Stars!-
n reading the 6 previous books of the Vested Interest series, Sandy has been a consistent secondary character. She has been the mother, the confidante, and the swift kick in the rear as the original three “BAM” boys and their friends have needed her.
This is not only the story of Sandy finding her way past grief to a second chance at love, but it is also a sweet catch up with the entire Vested Interest family. That said – if you haven’t read the series, I’m not sure I would recommend starting here.
Ms Moreland does an excellent job of giving us a sense of where Sandy is in her journey and I loved the pairing between her and the widower Jordan. The previous relationships were treated with care and respect, something that made Sandy, Jordan, and the budding romance that much easier to root for.
This is a feel good read that addresses what happens when happily ever after ends much too early. Ms Moreland’s gentle hand made this a sweet read that tugged at the heart strings as we wished one pair well and sent all of our dear friends on their way.
This is the 7th and final book in this phenomenal series and even though I am sad to see the end, I am excited to find out what this author brings to us next. Sandy is the matriarch of the BAM family as a friend, mother, and sometime therapist to these overprotective men, and after losing her soul mate 1-year previously she is content just to keep herself busy as well as having all of the boys and their significant others in her life. Jordan is also one of the BAM team and is a widower, but he has had his eye on Sandy for a while. The BAM ladies all encourage Sandy to take a chance, but how will her men all deal with this development? This is a beautiful and heartfelt story which is emotional and humorous, and filled with witty banter. This is the perfect conclusion to this series and I highly recommend for all readers.
As a fan of Melanie Moreland and her BAM series, i have been praying for Sandy’s book. I am so grateful that it was handled in the way that is was since it was perfect. Sandy is the glue that holds the BAM company together. She has wrangled the three owners with tough love and and iron fist but they love her all the same and respect her like no other. This time its all about her. Moving on after losing the one you’ve spent your life with is never easy and Sandy is discovering how hard it can be. The emotions this woman goes through are heartbreaking beautiful. She is determined to live life on her own terms but not forgetting her late husband’s memory. Jordan is a widdower too and has been admiring Sandy for a long time. His determination to woo Sandy is admirable. I adored this one. I will be rereading this series since i dont want to let any of these characters go.
Sandy is the seventh and final book in the Vested Interest series by Melanie Moreland. I have loved this series from the first word of the first page, including The Contract series where all of the characters cross over. It is fitting that the final book focus on Sandy, not only the assistant to the team of men who lead BAM, but their adoptive mother, confidant, even therapist at times. They are a family. And now it is time for Sandy to get her own Happy Ever After.
Sandy Preston is fifty seven years old. It’s been over a year since she lost the love of her life, Max. She is lost without him. She keeps busy with work but there is always a void left in her life. She is encouraged to date by the wives of the men of BAM, her girls as she calls them. Can she move on? Is it time?
Jordan Hayes works for BAM and is a trusted part of the team. He’s known Sandy for a long time. Jordan is also a widow. He has been interested in her for awhile but sensed she wasn’t ready. Until he finds out that she might be getting ready to try dating again. He’s determined that if Sandy is going to date anyone, it will be him, only him. He just has to find a way to convince her of that.
“Blushing. What’s next? Swooning? Heaven forbid.”
Jordan has such an effect on Sandy. She’s never blushed in her life but he seems to bring it out in her constantly. He’s supportive, loving, attentive, everything a woman could ask for. But is she truly ready? Can she let go and move forward?
Let me just say that this book was everything I hoped it would be and more. We see Sandy in a whole new light here. We see her heart, her pain, her love, so much love. The epilogue had me in literal tears, the good kind of tears, but tears just the same. We see her relationship with all of her boys so much more clearly, how much these men love her and how protective they are of her. Sometimes in a comical way.
I’m sad to see an end come to this series but these characters will live on in my heart. Melanie’s words are truly magical and I will always be thankful to her for introducing me to the men and to the women, to the family, of BAM.
I have absolutely fallen in love with this series and to finally have Sandy get her time in the limelight it truly was wonderful. Sandy has been the mother figure to all of the men at Bam. She has always been their sounding board, voice of reason, the foundation that holds them together and helps them at their lowest. It only seems fitting that she too find her happiness in her home life. She has definitely had her share of heartbreak and tragedy when it comes to her love life but their is a silver lining. When a friend finally knows that she is ready to date he knows that it is now or never to make his intentions known. I so enjoyed watching all of these fine young men and the women that they chose to stand be their side play such an intricate part in the life of Sandy and all of their futures. You may not be able to pick your family but you can choose your friends and in this case make them your family and your world !! I am so sorry to see this series come to an end . I have enjoyed having Melanie pull me into each one of their books and their world!
Loved it !!!

Sandy’s official title may be the office manager for BAM, but she is so much more. Not only does she ensure that the company is a well-oiled machine, but she has been there for each of the men when they needed someone the most. When her husband passed away, he left a huge hole in her world and she is now beginning to consider meeting other men, but love is not on her radar.
Jordon is not only her co-worker and friend, but his wife has passed away as well. He is drawn to both Sandy’s beauty and her personality and now that she is considering letting another man into her life he plans for that man to be him.
What makes this story so good is not only the emotion and the steam but the realistic way it approached both the butterflies and anxieties of finding love for a second time. Sandy and Jordon are not only great characters and great together but catching up with all the other characters we know and love made it that much better and a fitting end to this wonderful series.
It’s a sad day when you finish reading the last book in a series and know that there are no more stories coming after it. Sandy by Melanie Moreland is that final book in the brilliant ‘Vested Interest’ series.
Six fabulous guys were guided to their HEA by the leading lady in this book. Sandy was never blessed by motherhood, but she took Bentley, Aiden, Maddox, Reid, Van, and Halton under her wing, and unofficially adopted them as her children.
Yes, she has her own stepson and grandchildren from him, but she still sees the boys as hers. She was their guiding light as they met the woman who changed their lives. Now it’s their turn to help the woman who has shared their darkest days and lightest moments.
Sandy has borne the pain of loss, now she’s overcome that hardship and when love enters her life once more in the shape of Jordon, it was the boys who egged her on.
To take a chance.
Be brave.
To find love for the second time in her life.
This book was everything I was looking for from the conclusion of this series. It was wonderfully, sweet with just the right amount of sexy times. There was humor along with seriousness and the bittersweet knowledge that there will be no more from the men, and woman of BAM. I cried some tears but in the end, that epilogue. It was the epilogue to end all epilogues. Melanie just knows how to write them and leave you feeling a warm, happy swoony sense of contentment.
Words could never do justice to the joy I felt when I read this book. Melanie Moreland has given her readers, Sandy, and all the other characters of this series including the offshoot Contract series, the most beautiful, heartfelt and bittersweet conclusion. I highly encourage everyone to read the whole series before delving into Sandy. You will enjoy the true impact of meeting all of her boys before you read this final installment. Sandy is the glue that holds this empire together. She is everything to these men/boys – secretary, mother, confidante, friend…the list is endless and began with some friendly laundry advice. Now the story has come full circle, where someone needs to be looking out for Sandy. Is Sandy ready for more or is she better as the one in control?
I read this too quickly. My thoughts were to take a whole weekend and savor the words but alas, I could not put this one down. Tissues are a must with this tremendous read.
