She never wanted to see him again. So why can’t Jenna escape Jackson Wells’ smirking–and frustratingly attractive–face? When she returns home to Sandover Island after her mother’s death, Jenna is at rock bottom. If there were a level lower than rock bottom, that’s where she is. Hope doesn’t exist down there. Neither does love. To make things worse, Jenna keeps running into Jackson, a man she’s … things worse, Jenna keeps running into Jackson, a man she’s known–and avoided–since high school. She doesn’t know why he’s pulling the nice-guy act, but she isn’t buying.
Unless it isn’t an act at all. Then she might really be in trouble.
The one woman billionaire Jackson Wells has loved for half his life comes home…
….and still sees him as the idiot kid he was in high school.
He just wants a chance to show her that he has changed. But every kindness he tosses her way, she lobs back like a grenade. Jackson can see how high she’s built her walls to keep out the pain.
Good thing he’s prepared to scale them. No matter how long it takes.
But on a small beach island like Sandover, you can’t ever escape your past. Can Jackson and Jenna forge a new future together?

Lovely, lovely, LOVELY clean romance! 5 stars all the way. Wonderful, fully realized characters, realistic dialogue, and superb writing.
Once I started, I couldn’t stop. I stayed up until 3:30 am just finishing this book! I loved the characters, the tension of whether they would ever trust each other fully, and the snarkiness of the hero’s daughter.
I started out not liking Jackson because of his past, since we found it out through Jenna’s perspective. I wish we had started the story in Jackson’s perspective because the first time we see inside his head, we know that he has changed because of His encounter with Jesus. I love how he still struggles not only with the consequences of his past but also the guilt of his past. And although I don’t normally like stories about divorcees, this one was about how Jenna was the victim because she had been cheated on. Her trust issues were so reasonable; I felt for her.
I liked the faith thread, though there were a few comments thrown in that I didn’t personally agree with, like not needing a “born-again” experience for salvation. I did like how Jenna not drinking wine wasn’t a sin-thing or hammered down the reader’s throat. It was a personal preference I personally agree with.
I loved the realness and rawness of Jenna’s grief over losing her mother. The little things that trigger waves of grief were so relatable.
The romance was never sexual but did get a little bit steamier than I personally like. I can still recommend it, though.
Favorite quotes:
“He felt like he was constantly chasing his own shadow, trying to erase it, but finding it always right there behind him. Even after coming to believe that Jesus had taken his sin away, Jackson struggled to really feel that he was clean.” (chapter 2)
This is what real church is: “Their breakfast talks hit him harder than the sermons Sunday mornings.” (chapter 2)
“’You don’t stop struggling when you become a Christian. You struggle more because you see the things you’re doing differently.’” (chapter 2)
“Five minutes later Jackson had stripped down to a T-shirt with his hands taped, ready to go to war on his memories and feelings. Jackson warmed up with a few jabs, feeling the tension leave his body as he hopped lightly from foot to foot.” (chapter 2)
I’m so glad someone finally took this verse in context! “’When he [Paul] says he can do all things, he means, he can be content in any circumstance.’” (chapter 2)
“She could not think about the fact that he was attractive. It was all on the outside. Like a poison dart frog. She didn’t know why she was thinking about frogs, but it was the perfect comparison to Jackson. Beautiful on the outside, drawing you in, but toxic.” (chapter 3)
“That’s the thing about love: sometimes it makes you foolish. But if you aren’t willing to put yourself out there, maybe it’s not love.” (chapter 4)
“He seemed comfortable working in silence, though Jenna felt anything but comfortable. Guilty, yes. Nervous, yes. Strangely happy? Also yes.” (chapter 5)
“Who was he now? Could she trust in the image he was selling now, or was it just that—an image that he was selling? She couldn’t afford to find out.” (chapter 5)
“Jenna felt suddenly like she had been thrust into A Christmas Carol. Except there was only the Ghost of Christmas past, haunting her present and keeping her from the future.” (chapter 7)
“But somehow Rachel always floated back up to the top. She was buoyant, while Jenna kept sinking.” (chapter 8)
“She longed to be a kid again, when all the decisions fit into the easy boxes of whatever you were supposed to do…” (chapter 8)
“’You did not just say ‘bae.’ I thought we talked about this. Using terms that teens use doesn’t make you cool. It just makes it seem like you’re trying too hard.’” (chapter 9)
“Listening really was an active thing—making a conscious choice not to fill the silence with words, allowing room for people to say what they really needed to say.” (chapter 9)
“Jackson’s kisses felt like he was making declarations and vows.” (chapter 10)
“…Rachel crying too, and they both sat weeping on the floor of their mother’s closet until the crying turned to laughter about how much they both hated that sweater. And then they fought over who got to keep it. Finally, they decided it deserved joint custody. Rachel would start with it, then mail it to Jenna in a few months—a new tradition.” (chapter 11)
“Maybe the adage about doctors making the worst patients was true also of real estate agents making the worst clients.” (chapter 20)
This is the first book in the Sandover Island series, and as fictional small town communities go, I adore this one. I actually read Book Four – Sandover Beach Christmas first, so that’s where I met Jackson as a great and caring friend. It was great to go back and read his love story with Jenna. I loved his determination to win Jenna’s heart and break down her walls. He was very charming and swoonworthy! I also enjoyed that Jenna’s reasons to keep him at arms length were realistic. I highly recommend this start to Sandover Island and I’m excited to grab the next book!
Very emotional and inspirational, clean romance. I love this community and their circle of support. Jackson and Jenna get a chance at a relationship. The woos of maturity & past experiences plus their stubborn pride have them clamming up, full of doubt. I think their insta-love overwhelms them and it’s always easy to slide back into the contentment of not allowing your heart to take a another chance, Jenna even had a scripture reference to justify it. 🙂 God has a plan for them, they just need a little support untangling the web and getting on board with it. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
Jackson Wells has loved Jenna Monroe for almost half his life. She can only remember him as the bad boy of her teen years. This is a fun story of him trying to convince her that he has changed. This is a well written story with interesting story line and well-developed characters. I enjoyed this story.
The Sandover Beach Billionaire is the sixth book in The Billionaire Surprise Series. Although originally released as Sandover Beach Memories, Ms. St. Clair has updated the book by changing the cover, the title and the story. It’s about a woman, Jenna [she has had a horrible year], who goes home to clean up and sell her mother’s house. While Jenna deals with all the emotions of her mother’s death, she has to make peace with the turmoil that her life has become in the last year. I didn’t like Jenna very much until the story started explaining the reasons for her behavior. She seemed rude, impatient, and unforgiving. The story captured my interest and I couldn’t put the book down. Warning: have a box of tissue nearby. Since this is an Emma St. Clair novel, we have some romance and a HEA ending. I think that this is a really good book and feel that anyone who reads romance books or women’s fiction would enjoy reading The Sandover Beach Billionaire.
Jenna had been hurt by men. Her high school boyfriend had dumped her and her ex-husband had cheated on her leaving her with a reminder of his cheating ways. She had grown up in Sandover Beach and was now back after he mom’s passing to clean up and sell the family home. She couldn’t stand Jackson Wells because he reminded her of the men from her past who had hurt her and left her feeling brokenhearted. She couldn’t trust him but when she ran into him again and again, he was nothing but kind and patient with her.
Jackson Wells had loved Jenna for years and now she was back in Sandover Beach. He was determined to be worthy of her and to earn her forgiveness. He was a changed man and he wanted her to know how sorry he was to have ever caused her pain. After getting trapped in an elevator together and that searing kiss, was it possible there could be more than friendship between them? Would they be able to trust each other not to cause hurt and heartache?
This was a sweet, clean perfect summer read. It was a quick read that left me with a good feeling and a happy ever after ending. I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review.
An amazing romance between two old sweethearts that reunite making you feel all the emotions as Jackson tries to prove he isnt the kid he used to be and Jenna tries to heal from her brokeness. This interesting storyline has Jenna home after the death of her mother and her divorce from her cheating spouse. It includes, grief, pain, loss, guilt, twists and turns, forgiveness, hope, trust, happiness, faith and soo much more. It really made you believe there is hope and love as these complex, realistic, and well developed characters with awesome chemistry as they face everything that life has thrown at them with a wonderful group of supporting characters. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
I was excited to read Jackson’s romance. He was such a great guy and so helpful in the previous books in the series. I thought it was cute that they both had crushes on each other in high school but didn’t know it. He had an uphill battle with Jenna after her sister’s reputation was ruined in high school because of her association with him. Jenna’s exs were real pieces of work, lying and cheating on her. No wonder she has trouble trusting. Jackson had anger and quick to judgement issues too. When he finds out Jenna’s ex Steve kissed her he gets mad at Jenna and wants to hurt Steve, but he doesn’t listen to Jenna’s full explanation of what happened before reacting. His preteen daughter was funny in a moody teenage way.
I loved Jenna and Jackson in Emma St. Clair’s The Sandover Beach Billionaire (The Billionaire Surprise Book 6). They’re beautifully complex and layered but at the same time totally genuine, from the emotions felt about cleaning out the home of a loved one (bern there, done that) to the emotions felt when trying to show your true colors and value (yup, been there too). Perfectly plotted with a superb cast this is one heck of a fun novel (with billionaire icing on top – and I love a good billionaire romance). But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
A lovely story!! I read the original and loved it, so was really excited to read this updated version. I LOVED Jackson! He was so sweet and nice you can’t help but fall in love with him. Jenna… I wasn’t so sure about at the start. She seemed a bit rude and aggressive, but as I read more about her story, it became easier to understand her point of view. I felt that Jackson and Jenna were really good for each other.
The plot was great as well. Although there were some cliche storylines, it was well-written and interesting. The story generally had a good flow and I really enjoyed reading it!
One of my favourites parts was Jenna’s character development. I loved how after she reconciled with God, her character changed. Her insecurities and bitterness didn’t just disappear overnight, but you could see (or should I say read ^^) how it affected her life. That was a really beautiful part to read.
Overall, this novel is not to be missed and I would recommend it to all lovers of sweet romance!
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. This has not affected my review, which is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I really liked the realistic characters who have a second chance at love in this story. It is also a story of enemies to lovers. It will touch your emotions in so many ways. There is sorrow, hurt, pain, grief, hope, and happiness. I really liked how two of the main characters turn to God and find each other. It makes you believe there is hope and love after an unfaithful marriage and losing your mom. I also like Sandover Beach. It sounds like a fun place to live and raise a family. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
There is so much more to Sandover Beach Billionaire than you can get from the blurb. Jenna has been plundered emotionally by the death of her mother and her divorce from her cheating spouse. She’s back home to settle the estate and decide whether to sell or keep her old home. Steve, her best friend and childhood sweetheart, shows up almost as soon as she hits town. She also runs into Jackson, the wild boy from school. Jackson’s daughter is a hoot! The characters are well written, the beautiful town is itself a character in the book. There are themes of redemption, forgiveness, and grace . Several of the secondary characters would make great main characters if this becomes a series. I could not put the book down and fervently hope there will be more stories from Sandover Beach.
