Relationships don’t start with getting a speeding ticket. But what about FAKE relationships? Ripley shouldn’t have lied to her family about having a boyfriend. But, like the rest of her life, she had things planned out to the tiniest detail, including a fake breakup before Christmas. So, how did she go from getting pulled over to having a very real FAKE boyfriend? When Cash pulls over a woman … Cash pulls over a woman for speeding while talking on the phone, he thought he’d hand out a ticket and be done with it. Instead, he got himself roped into being her fake boyfriend for the holidays he hates.
Sticking a control freak together with a total scrooge should be a recipe for a Christmas disaster. But somehow, their warring personalities light up the right kind of sparks.
Neither one wants to be the first to admit that this fake relationship has taken on a life of its own. What will happen when it’s time to stop pretending?

Sandover Beach Christmas, the third book in the Sandover Island Sweet Romance Series, is Emma St. Clair’s newest book. Opposites are supposed to attract [at least in nature], but do they really? In Sandover Beach Christmas, Ms. St. Clair brings two of the most “opposite” people together for Christmas. This book is one of Emma St. Clair’s best. It is full of amazing characters that are so funny that you can’t help but laugh out loud. Mix together a slightly obsessive woman, a grouchy man that happens to be a cop, a new “romance” that starts out as a lie, some crazy family antics, the Spirit of Christmas and you get Sandover Beach Christmas. Books about Christmas are always fun, but I think that this is one of the best that I have read this year.
I had so much fun reading this story. The mix of romance and humor throughout This story kept me engaged till the end. I loved the characters with all their little quarks and the glow of the story was so good. Definitely worth reading.
Great story line, but too repetitive with the “our fingers touched, my heart beat out of my chest, etc”…sappy
What a fun and enjoyable read.
Great read. The characters are well crafted. I find myself thinking of them as real people!
Cash was a grumpy but very handsome man. He was also a police officer so that made for a lethal combination. He rarely smiled and enjoyed giving people tickets. He lived on Sandover Island in a beautiful beach community. He had a few close friends but he was the odd man out; the only one without a significant other. And, that was just the way he wanted it. He had trust issues because of his ex girlfriend’s and father’s ultimate betrayal.
Ripley had an overzealous family who loved her dearly. They wanted what was best for her and that included a man. She was tired of their attempted to set her up or chastise her for her single status. They were coming to visit for Christmas so she had created a fake boyfriend that she would fake breakup with before they arrived. Because they would be busy consoling her for her broken heart, they wouldn’t press the single issue. At least that is what she had planned. But, when Officer Cash pulled her over for speeding, he got sucked in to her family vortex and BECAME the boyfriend.
This was a hilarious and emotional story of Cash and Ripley’s journey to find love, to overcome betrayal and to learn to trust and love again. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and ended up losing some sleep last night to finish it before going to work. It was a clean story with no graphic sexual details or foul language.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I loved this book so much! Ripley is witty and strong, and I loved Cash’s growth from grumpy to sweet. I need more books like this in my life.
This is a fun, funny story along with the romance. Ripley’s family is so over-the-top, especially her Nana who loves men in uniform. Cash, of course, has his family issues that he has to resolve. They are pretty significant however. It’s a good christmas read.
How to deal with overzealous familial love? -vs- How to deal with ultimate familial betrayal? Ripley is great, her family is harmless just hilariously full of joy. Cash is kind and considerate, my heart hurt for him. This is so deep and a perfect example of how something bad (speeding ticket) can open the door for something good. It’s not easy for either of them to get it together but since they have faith they are more adult about the situation and eventually do a really good job at hashing things out. I think Ripley & her family is just what Cash needed to be able to get pass his hurt and connect with his sibling. Realistically, forgiveness can be a very hard pill to swallow but it’s necessary to break the power of unforgiveness. Very emotional and inspirational story. It’s hard to say what to do when you’re not walking in those shoes but I am very proud of Cash for finding peace with God’s guidance, forgiveness and opening up again to find the love of his life. Nobody’s perfect. I am also proud of Ripley for her patience with him as he works through his hurt and she cautiously opens herself up to the love that she has for him. I could go on and on about this heartfelt book, it is very well written & I highly recommend it. I did receive an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author but also purchased (pre-ordered) it because it’s just that good!
Sandover Beach Christmas sparkles with interesting characters – especially Ripley’s family! There is a great deal of angst in Cash’s past. Come along and enjoy the drama, banter and love that we have come to expect from Emma St. Clair and Sandover Beach. There is a lot of love, God’s help and plenty of romance in this well written book. Perfect for those who love clean romance.
This was a sweet and very funny fake relationship romance. I laughed so much from their first interaction when Cash pulls Ripley over for speeding and her family on the phone thinks he’s her boyfriend, to the crazy care package her mom sent him, and her Nana and her outrageous antics. Cash had to overcome the hurt of a past relationship and forgive before he could fully let Ripley in. It started out as a fake relationship to deal with her family and his friends, but became so much more.
Ripley Johnson had no idea what she had unleashed when she invented a boyfriend to get her mom off her back. Cash had no idea what he had unleashed when he picked up Ripley’s phone to talk to her mom. Although Ripley and Cash are the main characters, Emma St Clair gave us wonderful characters in Ripley’s mom and grandmother. They add needed humor to Cash’s morose attitude. Cash has a deep secret that has affected his outlook for years, until it is taken care of happy ever after isn’t in the picture. This is a wonderful romance but also a story of forgiveness. I enjoyed this story.
I enjoyed this mashup of fake, Christmas, and the beach.
Ripley made up a BF, then ended up with Cash being her real fake after he stopped her for talking on the phone.
They shouldn’t work, but they kind of do.

This book is why I love this author!
It was full of emotions, great characters, and an incredible plot.
I really enjoy sitting down to read her books.
Returning to Sandover Beach was just as much fun as I thought it would be. This story focused on Cash and Ripley. The banter and antics throughout the story kept me laughing and smiling. Ripley’s family and Nana were very entertaining. I thought the beginning of the story was funny when Cash pulled Ripley over to give her a ticket and had to listen to her mom on her cell phone. Who knew a fake boyfriend at Christmas could be so much fun? What a great story ! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
