From USA Today bestselling author Kat Mizera comes a brand new series of standalone royal romances. Meet the sexy men who protect the royal family and the strong women who make them fall irrevocably in love… years in the shadows, I’m about to be forced into the spotlight.
As head of security for the royal family, I’m being pulled in a million directions as my family works to rebuild our country.
But I only want to look in one direction: Lennox Briggs.
She’s a thorn in my side and has been since she was brought in as the first woman on our security team. She’s more than qualified, but a distraction I don’t need. Getting involved with her would be a mistake.
Too bad my heart—and other regions—aren’t listening.
After so many years protecting the people I love, how do I choose between my heart and my duty?
Because I definitely can’t have both.

Fantastic spin-off!
Kat Mizera does it again with Sandor (Royal Protectors, Book 1) her amazing spin-off to the Royal Trilogy series. Sandor centers around Prince Sandor Gustaffson, who is a royal prince and Head of Security for the Royal family. He has devoted his life to be the fierce protector that his family needs, an ability that he has honed to perfection over the decades. No distractions can deviate him from this path, until Lennox Briggs joins the Royal security team and suppressed feelings and desires now come to the foreground with a vengeance when Lennox enters his life. These two alpha characters are simply explosive and their chemistry sizzles on the pages. You’ll love how Lennox puts Sandor in his place with her wit, sass, and intelligence and how Sandor opens up to so many possibilities that come from his relationship as well as the fear, insecurity and missteps that he faces as he navigates these new feelings he is experiencing.
This is a fantastic read with well-written and engaging characters and an intense, suspense-filled storyline. There is something for everyone! Another great read from an amazing author!
You are probably familiar with both of Kat Mizera’s incredible hockey series but I have to say, the Royal Protectors are a WHOLE new brand of HOT! I don’t know where Limaj is supposed to be, but if I was single, I would be on the first flight!
We previously met Sandor in The Royal Trilogy (which you must binge if you have not yet). He has been protecting Casey and her son Luke for over a decade and now his life has changed drastically for the second time in his 39 years. The thing that doesn’t change though, is Sandor. He is loyal to a fault, has a strict sense of duty and will always put the needs and safety of the Royal Family ahead of his own. He thinks he has his life figured out. He is devoted to rebuilding his home alongside his family and citizens while keeping everyone safe. What Sandor doesn’t expect, is to fall for the newest member of his security team. Lennox and Sandor don’t start out on the best of terms but it doesn’t take long for a mutual respect to grow. As these two strong, independent bodyguards continue to do their jobs and spend time together the attraction that lies beneath the surface cannot be contained for long. What follows is a love story that will make your heart fill with joy, pound in anticipation, melt from sweetness and stop in suspense, all while causing you, the reader, to become enamored with this beautiful couple. This book is a phenomenal start to a brand new series that is sure to be full of suspense, action, loyalty and most of all, love!
I love the way Kat Mizera has created this world of rock music, royals, and blended families. In Sandor, we finally get to focus on a man who has been integral to the story from the beginning.
Sandor has spent his life first protecting his cousin, Erik, and then protecting Erik’s son and Casey, the love of Erik’s life. Now, finally, Erik is king and has a full security staff, and Sandor is pushed into a public role as a royal in the government.
I’ve been waiting for Sandor to be free to find his own love, to begin to actually have a life. And Lennox is perfect. She is smart, strong, and an experienced protector, able to hold her own against any man.
I received and ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
I’ve been looking forward to Kat Mizera’s Royal Protectors series, and Sandor doesn’t disappoint. You can’t go wrong with a hot alpha bodyguard hero who has no idea what romance is until it knocks him on his ass. Literally. Get your hands on this one, you’ll love it.
Four and a half stars
SANDOR is the first in Kat Mizera’s Royal Protectors series, and is about Sandor Gustaffson and Lennox Briggs. Sandor’s the head of security for the Limaji royal family, and besides being an incredibly well-trained and big guy, he also happens to be the king’s cousin. No one is more invested in Erik and his family’s safety and well-being than (yes, Prince) Sandor.
Lennox is hired by Sandor’s co-worker, and is more than capable of providing the necessary protection for Erik’s wife Casey and their family. But she and Sandor initially butt heads. She’s no shrinking violet, and she’s experienced at holding her own professionally and learning to do the same personally.
While this is not a super high-angst story, in it Kat Mizera gives us a chance to see Sandor face down his own prejudices and insecurities, and to become the best man he can be. Lennox is an excellent match for him, and this is a fast-paced delight.
Looking forward to more in this series, and to going back to The Nowhere Trilogy to catch up on Erik and Casey’s story!
Charming and delectable! With the first book in her Royal Protectors series, Kat Mizera dazzles a royal family in front of us. I didn’t realize there was another series prior to this one that dealt with some of these characters, so I made the mistake of not reading that one first. While I could pick up most of the story, I did feel some of the carry through was lacking on occasion. Overall a very enjoyable story line and an interesting cast of characters.
Sandor is attention grabbing. He’s been away from the limelight for years now, but as a royal family member he’s about to be thrust back into the spotlight whether he likes it or not.
Lennox might only be there to guard the new queen, but Sandor can’t get her off of his mind and the distraction she brings with her is not going to be beneficial to his security duties.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit of royalty, a bit of intrigue and a whole lot of steamy goodness. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
This story is filled with action packed suspense and intriguing characters. Sandor and Lennox are protective by nature and both work in security. They work together to protect the King and his family and their relationship develops over time. I liked both Sandor and Lennox. They are great together, make a good team and have a lot of chemistry. This is an engaging story.
Loved Sandor and Lennox!
Kat Mizera has stayed true to the Royal Family of Limaj, and OMG, Sandor was everything I’d imagined him to be, and so much more.
In ‘The Nowhere Trilogy’, he had sacrificed his own life for over a decade to protect King Erik’s family in his stead. We had seen his alpha side then and I’d adored him as much as Kat and Erik. In this story, I got to see not only his usual efficient and protective persona, but I loved seeing a different, more vulnerable side of him.
While life was just as intense, he had spent the last decade being in another skin that wasn’t his own. I also admired Lennox, who picked up on it as well, acknowledging to him that he had carried such a heavy responsibility for others, for so long, that he didn’t know how to start living a life of his own.
Lennox appealed to me from the word go. She had succeeded in a harsh men’s environment, had got into Special Ops and had seen the worst that humanity could do to another person. She’s just as married to her job as Sandor, and her and Sandor clashed and absolutely sparked of each other, both in indignation as much as lust. Wow, as a reader, I could damn near chew on the atmosphere that Ms Mizera wrote for them!!!
This book is every bit as enjoyable as the series that precedes it, and I loved catching up again with Casey and Erik, as well as their extended family and friends. Especially the Cameo appearances of those Sidewinder’s hockey boys! 5 Stars
After meeting Sandor in the Nowhere Left to Fall trilogy it was fantastic to see he got his own book! Sandor takes his role very seriously and will do anything for Erik and Casey so when he meets Lennox he gets riled up as he doesn’t know her, but that’s not the worst he is attracted to her a lot. I love Lennox with her take no bull attitude and dedication to the job so her and Sandor are the perfect mix. There is plenty of steamy scenes, tension, danger and an emotional roller coaster road to keep you turning the page and getting addicted Sandor and Lennox.
Sandor Gustaffson is back, and I couldn’t be more excited to learn more about this enigmatic prince and bodyguard to Erik, Casey and family from the Nowhere Trilogy.
Needing to prove herself once again as a woman in a predominantly male field, Lennox Briggs isn’t ready to take crap from anyone, even if it is her sexy as can be new boss.
Always feeling pulled in a million directions at once, Sandor has no intentions of falling for anyone, especially not the newest member of his team tasked with protecting the people he considers to be his family.
Both are tough as nails, married to the job and suck at relationships. They don’t even know how to relax or take a day off. But, the attraction between Sandor and Lennox is crazy intense. And, when it bursts into flames, it turns into so much more very quickly. But, how is Sandor supposed to choose between what he sees as his duty and romance?
I was thrilled to be back in this world and to catch up with what was happening with Sandor as well as Erik, Casey and the country of Limaj. There’s still plenty of intrigue and suspense to keep readers guessing while we also get to see a different side to Sandor than we did in the original trilogy.
Lennox is so capable and really bad a$$! But, she has a sweet and tender side as well. And Sandor . . . who would have thought he was a romantic softie even if he did need some romance advice from Erik. Their romance was a fabulous juxtaposition of incredible heat and almost what felt like young love since neither Sandor or Lennox had had successful relationships before which left them fumbling a bit which was adorable.
I loved that this book brought together a cast of familiar characters from many of Kat Mizera’s books and it felt seamless. I also adored Erik and Casey more than even in this book. 5 stars for this thrilling romance.
Things start out with a bang for Sandor’s story. What is going on in Limaj this time? Where is Casey? What is going on for her? Who is Lennox? I like Lennox! Rather, I should say I love Lennox! She is a perfect complement to Sandor. I really dislike Veronique. I could not help but smile about the New York trip. Oh my, things happening in Limaj, then Florida, and then in Limaj again were not what I expected. Such a fun read!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
When Sandor comes back from Limaj with Erik, he finds that there’s a new security agent on Casey’s team – one whom he did not vet, and whom he does not want on the security team. But not for a valid reason, but because she’s a woman. A gorgeous, strong woman who is getting under his skin by not putting up with his bs at all.
The chemistry between these two is apparent from the start and I love how Lennox doesn’t put up with Sandor’s shit, dishes it right back, and brings the tough head of security agent to his knees.
I loved the back and forth between Lennox and Sandor, and how he FINALLY comes to his senses and does some character growth. He was hard for me to like at the beginning, but I love how Lennox got him, how she softened him a tad when he fell in love with her. I’m not sure whose story is next in the Royal Protectors series, but whosever it is, I hope it’s as good as Lennox and Sandor’s.
Kat Mizera has written an intriguing 5-star book that you will not be able to put down. Sandor is a prince and also a bodyguard to his cousin Erik the King. They are in Limaj trying to get things settled in parliament when another bodyguard can in and told Erik they had to get everyone out. Sandor takes Erik down into the escape tunnel with other family members. Erik is supposed to be on his way to the States to be with his wife Casey who is 9 months pregnant and due any day. Casey goes into labor while Erik is still in the air and he gets to the hospital just in time for the birth of the baby. Sandor is upset because Lennox is a new team member and he has not passed her to be there. When they get into Casey’s room Sandor tells Lennox she can go. This does not go well for Sandor, Lennox thinks it is because she is a female and Sandor doesn’t think she can handle herself. As Lennox and Sandor spend more time together their feelings start to change for each other. Erik is needed back in Limaj to guide his people and when they go back Lennox goes with them as Casey’s bodyguard. Things go good for Lennox and Sandor until the children sneak out and while looking for them Lennox stops one of them being taken. Sandor feels like this is his fault and if he had not been with Lennox then the children would not have gotten out. Sandor tells Lennox that they need to break up so that he can do his job. Lennox is upset so she goes to see the King and asks him if he would her to go see his mom in Flordia and if she could use his plane, also when she comes back she wants to trade places with another bodyguard in Monte Carlo and Erik tells her she can. When she is on the plane she goes through her mail and finds a letter from her doctor telling her that her implant is expired and she needs a new one. Lennox and Sandor have been having unprotected sex thinking she is protected.
Can Lennox get past her feelings for Sandor and move on with her life?
Will Sandor realizes that he needs Lennox in his life?
This book will grab you from the first page to the last page and I would recommend this book to anyone.
I received an ARC of this book for my voluntarily and honest review.
Sandor brings us back into the world of Kat Mizera’s Royals. We get to revisit many of the characters that we already know from The Royal Trilogy and this story continues with some of the danger and drama that the Royal family is still facing. It is also a fantastic love story between Sandor and Lennox!
Sandor and Lennox’s story grabbed me right from page one because I just love a book that includes a hot alpha man and a strong, sassy woman all wrapped up in a bit of suspense and intrigue.
Sandor and Lennox’s working relationship definitely did not get off to a stellar start but once Sandor realized that Lennox was more than capable to handle the job at hand he started to see her in a different light. These two are explosive together! They have great banter, they challenge each other and they have intense chemistry and passion.
Grab your copy because you will not be disappointed!
Sandor is a 39 year old rich prince that could have anything but he doesn’t want to be in the royal family. He’s the security for the royal family. Lennox is 32 and the new security guard and an alpha female to boot. The two have immediate chemistry. The couple end up in heated exchanges as they both are alphas and take no prisoners. All the emotions in this story.
Wow! Loved this book! The characters are so well written they feel like family by the end of the book. Sandor and Lennox are such an amazing couple. I love how they both seem to equally let themselves be vulnerable. Which is hard for such strong people. A great read. Can not wait to eat more of Kat Mizera!
First book by this author, and I don’t know why I waited so long! I love her writing style and the characters are great! I could tell that this was a spin-off series but there was enough detail to make me feel relatively caught up. Sandor was trying to adapt to changes in his world and yet maintain iron control as head of security, and it was hard for him to make the adjustments to being part of the royal family. Lennox was good at her job and worked hard at keeping her personal life separate from her job as security detail for the royal family.
They had a lot of things to work through, but I loved the caring and communications between the couple, and the entire family as they all tried to find their new normal.
Can’t wait to read more in this series!
Sandor is a great start to a new series! I’m glad Sandor finally got his own story. It is an action packed story full of suspense, emotions, tension, danger and drama. I loved Sandor and Lennox! They were perfect together! They had amazing chemistry! They worked together protecting the royal family. They were attracted to each other but fought it until they couldn’t. I loved how this story takes up where the Royal Trilogy left off. I loved getting to see all the characters! The Royal Protectors is going to be as amazing as the Royal Trilogy was! I can’t wait to see who’s story is next!
This is the follow on to the Royal protectors series. Sandor was bodyguard to his cousin Prince Erik of Limaj and then to Erik’s family while Erik was in hiding after faking his own death.
Sandor in essence gave up his life that day too and it was definitely time for Sandor to get his HEA. Lennox challenges him in everyway and manages to break down some of his defenses but can the protect the royal family and be together.
Love these two and glad Sandor got his story told. Can’t wait to see who is next
OMG! 10 Amazing Stars that will have you turning the pages!! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
I fell in love with Sandor in the Royal Trilogy and could not wait to read his story. Kat did not disappoint and I think her writing may have jump 10 levels with this book! Sandor is a man like no other devoting his life to his family and their protections. Sandor is the alpha male that you expect to protect his family. Lennox is the alpha female bad arse that has come in to help the Royal family. When Sandor and Lennox meet there is emotion and sparks like no other. Can these two push past the alpha must be in charge and not only work together but find happiness in each other. You will not want to put this book down. Kat does an AMAZING job at giving us this first book of the new series and I cannot wait to read more!!!!
