This was a great Winter Goddess novella. I am always happy to visit with Wyn and her Guardians. A little bit of steam and a little bit of ghostly magic. I loved the ending! I was crying happy tears.
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
This was a quick read that includes characters from a previous series. It said that this could be read along but I would recommend reading it as a short novella for the series instead. Not because it is confusing if you haven’t read the series but because I feel like you will have more of a connection to the characters in the book if you read the series first.
Even without reading the other series still a really cute quick read
I frequently start a series from the end, but this is a novella that is short and addicting.
Wyn is Queen of Winter and also a Goddess. She is carrying out a tradition of the Samhain Ball, but the dress her seamstress made for her is a bit over the top fluffy for her tastes. Although her men, her guardians seem to like it.
Saved from wearing an embarrassing gown by her head of household and best friend Tamara, Wyn enters the ball.
Dewi, the Goddess of Autumn, saw a ghost on her way to the ball, and when Wyn goes to prepare to deal with it, one appears in her bedroom. An interesting situation since her guards had something else in mind.
A fun, sexy romp, with the added plus of helping the ghosts.
I now have to read this series from the beginning, I am hooked.
A great addition to the Winter Heiress series, altough it can be read without the
A fun little story that shows that Wyn and her men haven’t changed one bit!
And when they find a ghost in their bedroom… things become very interesting!
It was a really good short read and very sweet
This was a great quick read. I loved it! Wyn is now Queen and is acclimating to her role. However, she does want to spend some alone time with her guards and she gets it. Whoa to bad I can’t channel wind, cause I sure need a cool down after that scene. In the meantime Wyn and her men have to figure out if ghost are real? What will they do about this situation?
Over all this is a definite read with an HEA!!
Samhain Goddess (Daughter of Winter) Paperback – October 10, 2018
by Skye MacKinnon
I received a complimentary eARC and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Samhain Goddess is a sweet bit of Halloween fluff that makes for a swift read on a cold October night. It is a story of forgiveness and love set against the night where the veil between the world is at its thinnest ant the dead return to Earth to commune with the living.
The main plot is a wonderful hat tip to the Celtic Holiday. The small bit of smexy time was hot.
However, I take issue at the author’s assertion that this can be read as a stand-alone with no knowledge of the series. This is a spin off the main series. Ms. MacKinnon fails to provide some information that would make this a true stand-alone, like physical descriptions of the main characters, explanations of the mechanisms of the world and the relations between people. This made the story a bit confusing. It was like looking through a keyhole. This didn’t distract all that much if you are in for just a fun read for a few hours.
3 stars out of 4.

What a sweet and moving story this was! It filled my heart with happiness to read this special story about Samhain and I look forward to diving into the story via the first book of the series to fully appreciate the beauty of this story.
