Ancient church rituals meet cutting-edge crime-solving in this thriller in the #1 New York Times bestselling series featuring NYPSD Lieutenant Eve Dallas.Seconds after partaking of wine during a Catholic funeral mass, Father Miguel Flores is dead on the altar. Detective Lieutenant Eve Dallas confirms that the consecrated wine contained enough potassium cyanide to kill a rhino. And though the East … rhino. And though the East Harlem neighborhood is a long way from the stone mansion she shares with her billionaire husband Roarke, it’s the holiness flying around St. Christobal’s that makes her uneasy.
The autopsy reveals faint scars of knife wounds, a removed tattoo—and evidence of plastic surgery suggesting “Father Flores” may not be the man his parishioners thought. Now, as Eve pieces together clues that suggest identity theft, gang connections, and a deeply personal act of revenge, she hopes to track down whoever committed this unholy act. Until a second murder—in front of an even larger crowd of worshippers—knocks the whole investigation sideways…

Always love JDRobb.
Love all her books
J.D. Robb does murder so well. Set slightly in the future, with cool stuff, the stories are wonderful and keep you reading. I truly enjoy this series.
Have read many of the JD Robb series and like all of them.
I love reading Eve Dallas stories. Nora Robers is the best.
Great read.
Another of my favourite authors. This series is the best of Nora Roberts. I have almost all of them in print and the rest on Kindle. Read them over and over.
Very good read
J D Rpbb is a wonderful story teller. She develops characters that often keep appearing in new books of hers and growing as a person.
I love this author.
Another JD Robb masterpiece!
All of her books rate 5 star
The In Death Series is a great one. I’m re-reading all of them
A great addition to an exciting series.
Love anything by J D Robb
I truly enjoy all of the characters ib this series. They never get stale and the story is always interesting. Probably my number one series choice, but Outlander and Joe Pickett are real close.
Another great book in the series. JD Robb keeps the story fresh. Main characters, especially Eve and Roarke are people you wish were friends in real life.
This is the first book that I have read of this series, so I was a little lost at first. Once I figured out the futuristic twists, and got more familiar with the characters, I enjoyed the twisted mystery.
Really enjoyed it despite the intense emotional ride. Or, maybe, because of it.
Any of the books in this series is a 5 star! I love these futuristic reads and the relationships formed in them. Hard line Eve with her hubby Roark and their majordomo are fun!
