The spotlight burns brighter in a small town as does the fire between mates…no matter the age difference. Welcome to the Kinship Cove Diner, where a good cup of coffee comes with every fated mating. * * * I have two great loves of my life—my fox shifting family (no matter how much they drive me crazy) and being on stage. True, my acting credits are relegated to the local community playhouse, but … credits are relegated to the local community playhouse, but that doesn’t matter. I spend my free time learning lines and rehearsing scenes…that very few people will ever see. Dating, mating, and all that comes with it? Unimportant.
At least until a man with a sharp gaze, a little gray in his hair, and a familiar face comes walking into the diner. He’s handsome, charming, and the fates say all mine.
Except he’s also famous—an actor whose eagle shifter instincts have brought him stardom in the action-movie arena.
The fates aren’t always kind, but giving me someone who lives his life in such a public way might just be too cruel for words. I’ve never really worried about finding a mate, but now that I have him? I don’t want to be without him. And I’ve had enough sharing for one lifetime.

What a wonderful, intriguing and intoxicating journey. Two thumbs up and a recommendation for you all to grab yourselves a copy! ~Zetter

What’s good for the fox is good for the eagle
What a fun book! There were some moments of angst within the pages, but the fun and flirty moments shown right on through. They led me right to the HEA that these two characters both deserved. This book is a fantastic addition to the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I wasn’t expecting another story in the Mates & Macaron’s series. This one was a pleasant surprise and easy read. Renit just took everything with ease. Nothing seemed to fluster him. Unless it was to see his mate with some other guy, then he flew off the handle. Tilly was the perfect drama for him. She cared about making everyone happy around her. Their story was a fun and enjoyable read. While it is part of the series, you don’t have to have read any of the previous stories to enjoy this one.

I loved, loved, loved Renit and Tilly! Salted Eagle is just so darn cute and without a doubt, the Mates and Macarons Series is one of the sweetest, funniest, most entertaining, and outrageously adorable, feel-good paranormal romance series I’ve read this year. I’m a diehard Ellis Leigh fan and have been for years. Leigh is one of my top five favorite paranormal, science fiction, suspense, and contemporary romance authors. And yes, you read that correctly – Leigh does write in all four genres and does it exceptionally well, consistently demonstrating her talent as a gifted storyteller and skilled wordsmith with every story she pens, which is why her books are an automatic one-click for me. For anyone unfamiliar with Leigh’s work, she writes captivating paranormal and science fiction romance as Ellis Leigh, riveting contemporary romantic suspense as Kristin Harte, and naughty contemporary/ new adult romance as one half of the London Hale dynamic writing duo. In the past, Leigh’s writing in paranormal romance has been somewhat darker in tone, but I was thrilled to see her stretch her wings and soar into something more fun. Don’t get me wrong; her other books also contain humor, but this new series is sweet, cute, lighthearted, fun, feel-good, and heartwarming without all the grit and danger, though there’s still a generous sprinkling of angst, just not the ‘OMG, I’m gonna die’ element, unless you consider dying of embarrassment a real possibility. Yeah, been there and done that! lol… But as usual I digress when talking about authors and books I love, so let’s discuss this story.
Salted Eagle is a delightful, well-crafted, well-edited, fast-paced, easy to follow standalone novella with a beautifully written dual his and her first-person narrative. The storyline is upbeat with lots of cutesy, good-natured humor but does have its share of drama which, at times, is not only heartbreaking but also pretty darn hilarious. The dialogue is smart, snappy, and flows effortlessly. Fondant Fox is very much a character-driven storyline, which brings me to my favorite component of every Leigh story – her always engaging cast of characters.
I was so hoping Leigh would continue the series and she did with a delightful addition to the collection featuring Tilly, a timid fox shifter and sister to Misty, the heroine from Fondant Fox (Book 4). Thank you, Ellis Leigh! Tilly is such a sweet, shy fox shifter who feels ignored, taken for granted, and completely lost among her skulk of 18 brothers and sisters. But once again, the fickle mistress of fate throws a curveball by matching our lovely, somewhat introverted Tilly with a famous, drop-dead-gorgeous action film star! What? Oh yes, our little fox lands a big fish, or I should say a Golden Eagle Shifter! Oh my! I fell in love with sweet Tilly and handsome Renit was such a swoony silver fox! Well, not really a fox but an older, more experienced Golden Eagle shifter with a little silver in his hair. I am such a sucker for older alpha heroes and May-December tropes. But add in the fact that this is a paranormal romantic comedy totally sealed the deal for me because the only thing I love more than contemporary romance and romantic comedies is paranormal/supernatural/fantasy romance. The physical attraction and sexual chemistry between sweet Tilly and worldly Renit sizzled in every encounter. But nothing is ever easy for any of the ladies of Kinship Cove, including love, especially when your true mate is a famous actor adored by millions of women! Tilly may only be an small town actress on a much smaller local community theatre stage, but her love of acting is just as important as Renit’s career, right? Will our shy, sweet fox shifter be able to share her one true mate with his adoring and very flirty fans? We’ll see!
No spoilers from me but I will say this… A beautiful fox shifter who always felt ignored except when acting at her local community theatre-check! A famous older, eagle shifter action star who’d given up on ever finding his mate-check! A group of protective friends-check! An unappreciative family-check! A boatload of drama, a sneaky costar, a group of flirty, adoring fans, a liberal splash of angst, a healthy dose of laugh out loud humor, and a generous measure of steamy passion and sweet romance-you bet! That and a whole lot more!
So, did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain naughty language and explicit(dreamy) sex. Salty Eagle is the fifth release in the Mates and Macarons Series with each book focusing on residents of Kinship Cove, a small close-knit town primarily populated with shifters. All the books are standalones with their own happy ending and could probably be read in any order, but to avoid spoilers, I highly recommend reading the books sequentially. Will I read this author again? You bet, just as soon as she releases her next book! Thank you again, Ellis Leigh! I love this series! And finally, was I entertained? OMG, completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!
Cute little fox shifter meets the sexy eagle shifter. A slightly rocky start that required a little help from the resident Dragon, but in the end they found a way to accept the kisses. Very cute and sexy story.

Another Sweet Loving shifter book. Definitely a Must Read Series.
Tilly is a twenty three year old Fox Shifter who works for her family at Kinship Cover Diner. Tilly who has done nothing not even dated turns around and find her super duper attractive mate.
Renit Threefeather is a majestic Golden Bald Eagle Shifter who has a second name. Coming to this little town called Kinship Cove for his job, Renit find his decades of dream manifesting before him.
The stories of the Kinship Cove people are always cute and fun!
Possible SPOILERS
Tilly is a 23 year old fox shifter and when she’s not working at her family’s diner she loves to be on stage but when she meets a new shifter at the diner Tilly knows he is special!
After waiting decades eagle shifter Renit Threefeather has finally found his mate and like any ALPHA male he is extremely overprotective!
Both Tilly & Renit need to make some changes in their lives especially with their careers to make each other happy or else….
I wanted Tilly’s story since her sisters book and I am so glad she got it. Tilly is a fox shifter who loves to act in theater, go figure her mate is an older hot, actor Renit James who is also and Eagle shifter, these two made me laugh and my heart hurt when theirs did, I love that Ellis is able to make us feel the emotions her characters do in her writings.
Another great book!!!
Very short read.
Likeable H’s and we had our three previous heroines adding their help.
Liked Renit and how he owned up to what happened, even though it was not his fault and gave Tilly the time she needed.
I just can’t get my head around the mother. She gives me whiplash with her behaviour and attitude. Did she actually only go to the play because her daughters’ mate was famous?
This is my honest review of this book.
