This book is a fun read. Out of my normal genre, but I enjoyed the cyber world of it all and was pleasantly sucked right into the story. The main character, Augustina, or Saint Augustina as she is known as, is a very strong, brave and independent cyber spy. She is cyber enhanced, but through it all, still remains more human than “saint”. Throughout the book we get to see a glimpse of her past which sheds some light on the person she is today. I really liked watching her being paired up with Saint Benedict, even though she is always wary of him, the two seem to be more friends than enemies. The characters are all very well written, the story is perfect, and the trouble the pair have to go through is intense and fun to watch. You can definitely read this book as a stand alone but, from personal experience, I would highly recommend reading from book 1, I didn’t, but I sure am going back to read the others after reading this gem of a book.
Saint Code: The Lost (Saint Code Book 1) by Megan Mackie. I have loved Megan Mackie’s books and this one was no different. I loved it! Its the story of St. Augustina, a cyber spy for hire whose life has been spent endlessly in the Data Bowl a cybernetic city of corporate markets & sub-markets. She knew she wasn’t going to get a normal job from the Orange Lady but this was crazy! Augustina is a African American woman who works as an agent of the mega corporations as well as whatever client can afford her. She is afraid of getting betrayed because she has been before. Augustina has tried to hold on to as much of her humanity as she can so she is still moved by things. As Augustina moves closer to the goal there is more and more danger including possibly death. She is caught in a web of betrayal both new and old fighting to untangle the facts and discover who’s after her! Will she find out in time? Read The Lost to find out!
The Lost (Saint Code Book 1) by Megan Mackie. This author definitely knows how to keep readers coming back for more. Once again I found myself completely hooked on another fantastic read. The characters are complex and relatable, each one brings something unique to the storyline and draws you further into their story world. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and the shortness doesn’t hinder the storyline in any way. I couldn’t put it down and found myself awake way late in the night because I made the mistake of starting it later. It’s a well written and nicely developed story that’s got a nice easy pace to follow with awesome characters. Four big stars and highly recommended.

Saint Code: The Lost is the first book in the Saint Code series and the fourth book in The Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. I absolutely adore this brilliant series! I developed my addiction to Megan Mackie’s stories back in the first book in The Lucky Devil series and have been eagerly anticipating each new release. I am kicking myself that this book slipped under my radar, and it has taken me so long to notice and read it.
This story doesn’t continue the thread that began in ‘Finder of the Lucky Devil’, but seems to predate it. Instead we follow St. Augustina the cyber-spy as she (along with St. Benedict) takes on a new job after being hired by the very mysterious Orange Lady for what seems to be a routine, if not dangerous, case. But Augustina quickly discovers that this is anything but typical. Things get complicated, and deadly. There seems to be a target on her back- so who is out to get her? Get set for an exciting adventure to find out all the riveting details.
The storyline is spellbinding and full of all the intricate details and incredible world building I have come to expect from Ms. Mackie. This is a fantastic urban fantasy with cyberpunk/neon-dystopia and paranormal elements. We are cast into a world where magic and technology combine with fascinating results. The story is full of action, adventure, suspense, some mystery, drama, tension, intrigue, danger, secrets, emotion, and so much more.
Ms. Mackie has delivered a rich, vibrant and vividly detailed story set in a cleverly constructed and interesting world. Her world building on a masterful level. The characters are truly brilliant- so well-crafted and wonderfully developed. I loved that we get a different perspective into this fascinating ‘world’. Giving us a lot of backstory and also a better understanding of how the Saints are ‘made’.
Can not wait for more!
Brilliant!!!
Thank you, Megan Mackie!
Saint Code: The Lost by Megan Mackie is a great fantasy story. St. Augustina is a cyber-spy for hire. When she takes a new job for the Orange Lady, she expects it to be typical. She soon finds out how wrong she is. Can she survive the web of lies and betrayals for her freedom?
Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. This might be the fourth book in the Lucky Devil Series but is can be read alone and you would be able to follow the events. This is an urban fantasy book that was fast paced and kept you completely wanting more. While this genre is out of my “norm” I truly enjoyed it.

Saint Code: The Lost (Saint Code Book 1) by Megan Mackie was an exciting and fun read. I loved this book and I could not put it down. St. Augustina had a lot going on in this book and I loved learning more about her character. She really caught my eye in The Finder Of The Lucky Devil and I am excited there was more! This book was easy to get lost in and it carried me away. I highly recommend it!

Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
Saint Code: Lost is the fourth Book in the Lucky Devil Series and a book I couldn’t put down once I started reading. I had to know what happens next. This can be read as a standalone but I do recommend reading the first three books in this series as well. Find out what happens when St. Augustine’s past, present, and future are challenged when she takes on a battle. I look forward to reading more from this Author.
Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series was a good 4 star read.
I was pulled right in and read this pretty quickly. St. Augustine is a very strong character and knows how to take care of herself. This is a genre I don’t read often but I really enjoyed it.
When St. Augustine takes on a new job from Orange lady, things get really strange. Will she be successful or with things take a twist in a different direction?
There are several twists and turns that will keep you guessing as to what’s coming next. We get danger, mystery, action and so much more. Megan Mackie has some great detail in this story, you feel like your right there. This book can be read as a stand alone but I would suggest reading from the beginning. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story.

Lost is the fourth book I’ve read by Megan Mackie as this is the fourth in this author’s Lucky Devil series.
The Lucky Devil Series is one of those that you realize each story is better than the last. This particular story was similar to others I’ve read in the series in that the storyline flowed well and the excitement was never at a lull.
If you’re looking for a fast paced, action packed, break reality then this is the book for you.
Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series
by Megan Mackie
This book is definitely an action packed, suspenseful all around great read. This book can be read as a standalone but it is my opinion that you read them all in order. St. Augustina is a character that I couldn’t get enough of. She’s tough, smart and savvy. This book took me where I never expected to go, you will have to read it to find out what I mean by that. As soon as I started reading this story I was hooked, I was brought into a world that I couldn’t get out of till I reached the end. This was exceptionally well written and had plenty going on throughout the entire read, there was never a dull moment that’s for sure. There are also some really great secondary characters in this read. I can’t wait to read what’s next. I highly recommend this book.

Saint Code: Lost is the fourth book in the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie. Although this book is the fourth in the series it set before the other books in the series, so it can be read as a stand alone. I highly recommend you read the whole series because they are all fabulous. This is not my usual genre, but the writing, and world building just sucked me right in. St. Augustine is such a strong character, I fell in love with her right from the start. The action and adventure was non stop throughout the whole story, and I couldn’t believe that the end came so soon. I highly recommend this story to everyone, even if this is not a genre that you would normally read, because it is very entertaining and well worth your time. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Mackie takes us next.
Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie and is a unique and unusual series but highly addictive. You don’t have to read the other books first but I recommend that you do because the characters are seen in the other books. The world that Megan has created is a complicated web and it took me a while to sort it all in my head and had to re-read some parts to get it straight it is still a story that I could not put down.
St. Augustine is one character that is sassy and a take no prisoners woman and the detail is vivid and draws you in. I won’t reveal any more because you need to read it for yourself.
I look forward to see what comes next from Megan.
Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie is a dark fantasy read that will take you to the edge of what you imagine is real and then tip you over to further expand your imagination. St. Augustina is the main character of this story, but just like several of the other stories in this series, there are overlapping characters – this particular one focus on the Saints. This story also takes on a slightly different dynamic than the others, but yet, still holds some of the Lucky Devil “feel” that the author has creatively grounded into the foundation of these stories. St. Augustina is a complicated, but unique individual and reading along on this story into the cyber world was entertaining. Megan Mackie is truly a inspiring author in the way she weaves her story lines in and out of what is expected and setting the bar for something challenging and special.
This is the fourth book of The Lucky Devil Series and it reads differently than the other stories… a little more cyberpunk (that was NOT the word I was going to use but my Galaxy S10 predictive text picked it so I am going with it) than the others. It has been a little bit since I started this series and the characters seemed foreign. This isn’t a bad thing, just something I feel I should point out.
I typically do not like reading overly detailed descriptions yet there is something about the way this is written… I read it in a very black and white old timely detective movie way. Very noir (THAT’S the word I was looking for above) “It seemed that everyone who hired someone from the underbelly of society had expectations that it was smoke and mirrors, and spy thriller.”
This was a very fast read that I enjoyed and would absolutely recommend.

Saint Code: Lost by Megan Mackie is the fourth book in the Lucky Devil Series. I recommend reading these in order but could be read as a standalone. This book is about St. Augustina. She is a cyber spy who will work for anyone who can pay her. This job takes her in all sorts of weird directions that eventually tie together. I really like the setting in a cyberpunk reality and the characters are really interesting. The whole of the story works well together and has me reading to find out where the story will go next. I like that the author uses elements which relate to our reality and incorporates them into this world we are put into. These elements help the reader get closer to the story and the characters. I look forward to reading more in this series.
Saint Code: Lost (The Lucky Devil 4) by Megan Mackie was fast pace, thrilling and just, wow.
This wonder was another perfect addition to this ever growing multi level, story/magical world. Though it says book 4, it’s more like a prequel, as it does take place before the start of the main series. So in saying that, if you haven’t read the first two books with the main plot, and characters, then you will have no worries about spoilers from this one.
So, where do I start, this little wonder sure was a kicker, coming in at a short 140 pages, this fast read packs a powerful punch. The detail was on point, the tone and flow was smooths and gets this wonder moving, and our MC, St. Augustina was a joy to read about and get to know. I may have a girl crush on her. She’s powerful, takes no BS and just, an outstandingly well written character, you can’t go wrong with an MC like that. And if the MC didn’t keep you reading, then the compelling plot, drama and action will.
Overall this book is a spoil 5 star read, and it gets my super high recommendation and my golden stamp of approval.
Happy Reading

Saint Code: Lost: Book Four of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
4 Stars
I just finished this story and again it was beautifully written and being the 4th in this series, I do feel Im liking them better as they go. I still get easily confused but that’s not the authors fault, Im invested enough in this series that I keep reading even though the genre is just not something I normally like or read. I chalk this up to the fantastic writing style of this author.
There is so much going on in this book and there were a couple times I literally stopped and had to really think about what was happening. Saint Augustina is the main player and Saint Benedict played a very large part in this entire book. I loved the interaction between these two and the story of their past. I think I somewhat understand what happened at the end between the two of them but you’d have to read it yourself to get it.
I wasn’t sure about the orange lady at first but quickly found myself really liking her character. Saint Augustina’s story broke my heart and the ending had me bawling.
It’s weird for me to say that I’m actually really looking forward to where this author plans to take this series next, who knows maybe by the time I finish reading them all I’ll be a convert to this genre or at least find that Im understanding it all better.
Amazing writing and I can’t wait for more. I highly recommend reading all of these in order. Everything kind of ties together in a weird way and if I hadn’t read the ones before I know I really would have been lost.
I don’t think I truly knew what I was getting myself into when I first started the Saint Code series from Megan Mackie, but I truly and loving it four books later. I would HIGHLY recommend that you read all of this series in order. With that said, this is supposed to be able to be read as a standalone. However, with this series I personally think it would be highly difficult to fully grasp everything that is going on without the full build of each book. The world that is created is magical and fun but complicated. Granted, this is just my opinion, however, and one from someone who normally finds books in this genera complicated and confusing. I promise that though Mackie’s Saint Code is one of those, it is worth it.
You won’t find any spoilers in this review, but I will tell you that I adored St. Augustine. She is one kickbutt female character and I truly enjoyed reading all about her. The adventure and detail to the story is vivid as ever and one that you will find yourself lost in until you realize you have finished the book in a quick fell swoop. I know I had only intended to read a bit at first with this book but found myself reading well past my bedtime to see how things worked out. I can’t wait to see what will come next from Ms. Mackie!
Saint Code is book 4 in The Lucky Devils Series, a series which can be read as standalone’s, but it’s a series that shouldn’t be missed! This book had me constantly turning the pages. I couldn’t put this read down. Once again the characters that are a part of this series are unforgettable but especially St Augustine she still continues to intrigue me and wants me to find out more and follow her story through this read.
This story from the beginning was well paced, had you utterly captivated and each book just seems to be getting better and better!
Megan Mackie has become one of my go-to authors after reading this series, and I can guarantee she will become yours too! This is a book not to be missed, and most definitely not the series, I highly recommend this book.
