I really loved this set. I kept reading one book after another until I finished the series. It keeps your attention and the characters shown are realistic and easy to understand. I can’t say how much I loved this set.
Amish Safe House: Three Book Omnibus: Amish Romantic Suspense
Book 1: Off the Grid
Kate is a U.S. Marshal who after an attempt on her life, needs to hide in an Amish community until she can get back to “real” life.
Will she be able to pose as Amish?
Then then there’s a murder and a handsome police officer that makes her have butterflies in her stomach. And she can’t investigate because she can’t blow her cover.
A very nice book, great characters that I think will make a great serie. I really enjoyed this book.
Book 2: In Plain View
Kate is trying to learn how to knit and blendinng in
Then there’s a murder and she finds herself interested and trying to find ways on how to get to solve the crime without stomping the police officers foot. This has been a really fun book to read and I’ve laughed so much when she got caught in the “badboy’s” mansion, and then going back to her amish life. Love the characters, they make me smile, and I really enjoyed this book.
Book 3: Safe Hearts
OMG! I LOOVED THIS BOOK!
I Just finished reading it, feeling warm inside for this whole serie!
Kate was still living in Amish land undercover until she finds out that her cover was in danger of being exposed and the criminal was looking for her. So she is facing the unknown and is at risk, and also is getting the community at risk by being there.
This has been a lovely book to read, I felt sorry it ended, would have loved it to continue, hope there is a continuity to Kate and Ryans’ story.
Just loved this serie, I’m so sory to see it end.
Too predictable, but well written, easy read!
This was a really great trilogy. It was set in modern day time frame in an Amish community. Cause the loss of sleep!
Great book
Very good short read. For three books they didn’t seem to be long enough.
The characters did have good interactions even though secrets were being held back. When I got to the end I discovered that I had many good laughs, spell bound through sections and a couple of tears shed. I would recommend this book to any who asked.
long in some parts but overall a good read
This was a good set of stories, but the editing was so bad I was driven to distraction. This writer has potential, but she needs a new editor.
i Was ready for more!
Keeps you turning the pages to see what is next.
Like how they tie the 3 books together.
Brings out Amish life contrast.
This is a set of 3 books that pages together equal under 400 pages. Sometimes you just need to have a light and fun read. This is that delightful. I found it building humor and smiles to my day. I recommended this to a friend and she read straight through these 3 books continually also. Then she called to ask what she should read next. yes 5 stars.
Great reading
A very good book to read . Funny in places. A strong female protagonist . She was hiding in ” Plain ” sight , with the Amish people . A murderer was after her and her boss hid her with the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish. She had a difficult time blending in and she kept finding bodies, and wanting to help the police find the bad guys .
I have hesitated to write a review because I don’t want to discourage this author. I should have paid attention to another reviewer who discussed a number of problems that kinda made me nuts. The books need serious editing. Name changes from book to book, for example. Kate goes into a witness-protection type situation, which I thought was a great premise. She “becomes” Amish and her name in that community is Katie. But that’s only in the first book. After that she’s back to Kate, except with her love interest. She lives with Isaac and Beth. But that’s only in the first book, too! Isaac has a name change in the third story, switching to Bill. (How does an author not catch this?)
Some aspects of Kate’s situation are discussed repeatedly, which got to be annoying.
The stories have some implausible situations, stretching credulity. Why would a seasoned law officer (with “years” of experience, although she’s still in her 20s) take ridiculous risks without backup? And supposedly the only people who know her whereabouts are her boss and an Amish couple. How did the bad guy track her down? Why does the first book explain that she can do her job for WITSEC from anywhere, implying she has no office to go to, and then Kate reminisces about missing the smells and sounds of her office? I had a lot of unanswered questions that a good editor or author’s peer group would catch.
So, did I like anything? I liked how Kate learned to live simply, by the end really enjoying the Amish life. I enjoyed the portrayal of the knitting circle ladies–they are a hoot and pretty darn sharp. Kate comes to appreciate them when they reveal their true colors. This author portrays the Amish very well and I may seek out some of her other stories, but not anything with police/FBI procedures or crime solving.
2 and a half stars.
The author needed more editing to the books before publishing (I believe they are self-published). She also forgot some of her own details as she was writing, the biggest of which being a complete name change of one of the characters mid-way through the book!
Enjoyed the read
