1. Book 1: A Change of Plans 2020 Review: 5 stars
I purchased a copy of A Change of Plans: Safe Harbors book 1 by Donna K Weaver and this review was given freely.
This novel is a well written, suspenseful , full length clean romance which tells you the story of how strong and introverted Colorado high school music and science teacher Gwendolyn {Lyn North}survives multiple tragedies with the love and help of family, friends and Braedon Randolph. Donna K Weaver balances violence, sadness, and fear with intrigue, humor and Faith making this a complex and thoroughly enjoyable novel.
As the anniversary of the death of Lyn’s cheating fiancé Jace approaches, Colorado high school teacher and karate black belt, Lyn North and her childhood friend Elle Reinhart take a four week cruise from America that is to include New Zealand and Hawaii. However, picturesque excursions and the strain of a shipboard romance with New York thoracic surgeon Braedon Randolph soon leads to horror at the hands of pirates.
2. Book 1.5: Hope’s Watch: 4 stars
I received a free copy of the novel Hope’s Watch: Safe Harbor: Book 1.5 by Donna K Weaver and this review was given freely.
Hope’s Watch Is a good introduction to Elle and Mal’s romance. It is best if you read it after A Season of Change as this short novel picks up with the people being rescued off the Pirates’ ship,Jori’s hospitalization, and the wait for the rescue of the 4 lost friends. Unfortunately, to know if Elle and Mal’s attraction turns into a romance with a happy ending you have to read the first book in the series, A Season of Change.

5. Book 3: Swing Vote:5 stars
I received a free copy of the novel Swing Vote: Safe Harbor: Book 3 by Donna K Weaver and this review was given freely.
This is another excellent full length and action packed clean romance featuring medically discharged Marc who is recovering from the mental and physical effects of an IED explosion with the help of his extended unconventional family. Marc moves in with his ex-Marine buddy Ike’s unconventional family in a town which is going through growing pain. The characters and the plot are complex. Irony, humor, action, intrigue, small town politics, family drama, realistic characters, brief updates on prior series couples, violence, and Marc and McKenzie’s rocky romance make this a well-rounded must read with something for everyone.
6. Book 4: King’s Crossed Lovers: 5 stars
I received a free copy of the novel Kings Crossed Lovers: Safe Harbor: book 4 by Donna K. Weaver and this review was given freely.
This novella is one of discovering what truly matters, becoming empowered, learning to move away from toxic relationships to a supporting and nurturing one, and of course accepting love. A short and sweet fast paced story featuring premed Ethan and makeup artist Samantha’s romance, Samantha’s gamer brother and, the loving yet interfering family we have met in the last three Safe harbor books. While short, this is an emotional complex book with negative subtle and not so subtle undertones balanced by both a loving family and the joy a theme park can provide.
