Sadie Miller didn’t know what to expect when her family left Ohio for the small Montana Amish settlementcertainly not horse thieves, mysterious men, or her family falling apart. Soon after she and Mark are settled into the farmhouse, she’s visited by three FBI agents who question her about the two children who mysteriously appeared one day at the Ranch. This news, on top of Mark’s unexpected black moods, leaves Sadie confused and disillusioned. Mercifully, healing and courage reappear in unexpected times and places in this concluding volume of the Sadie’s Montana series.

Clean
Love the family values. Hope they don’t really eat as much as the meals/snacks that are described or people would weight at least 300lbs
I loved it, I want to live with Sadie and her family. I loved all the characters and horses.
Great book
Very easy read, enjoyed characters
I loved everything about this book. Exciting read.
Sadie loves horses, so when someone or people begin shooting horse in the Montana area it gets pretty scary for her and her Amish family. She is overcome with grief when her beloved horse Nevaeh is shot and killed. This is a 3 book set and I have finished one and am reading the second. Along with the story with the horses, their is a love interest that she is coming to grips with, a horrible accident that leaves Sadie mending for many weeks and months and a couple of young children that show up out of no where and have no history to tell. Except they do let those who are helping them hear that they may be from a wealthy family…all strange and keeps you on the edge of your seat at times.
Reading all 3 books in this trilogy, you definitely get to know the characters. Some you love, some not so much. Enjoyed the story, several twists and turns, mystery and suspense. Some parts were slow, but mostly a very enjoyable read through all three.
3 lovely stories I will read more of her work.
I really liked the character and didn’t want the books to end.
Best book I have read this year
A surprising story that takes you into a different side of the Amish society. I think most people who read Amish novels think of them as saintly people who live in a peaceful, perfect world, but they are as normal as anyone else and they have problems that touch their communities too, Linda Byler is actually Amish, and doesn’t put her people on a pedestal but gives us a glimpse into a distinctive but very real world.
I could not give this book 5 stars for errors in the 3rd book. I enjoyed the trilogy and would more books from this author. During the series, there are horses that pass away for reasons I won”t say. Somehow, mysteriously, one of the horses is back alive and just as reliable as ever in the 3rd book. It annoyed me every time Charlie was mentioned, and made me aware of some smaller editorial type mistakes that I might not have noticed as I tend to read pretty quickly. Overall, a good read.
I enjoyed the book. Not for deep thinking, just a good bit of escapism literature. I greatly admire the Amish, though I don’t agree with some of their practices, and this book presents what I believe is a pretty realistic view of their lifestyle.
Excellent story line….
Interesting glimpse of Amish life and realistic enough to relate to their many challenges as family and community. The descriptions of cooking and eating was a little bit much but I did try a chicken recipe. It was good!
Great book, did’t want to put it down.
Lovers of Amish fiction will enjoy this series, set in the west, far from established colonies in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The distance and the environment create challenges for Sadie and her family and friends as they sort out who they are, what the must do to survive and thrive in the rugged west, and how they may best love their faith. They all are good reads, folks!
Very good book, I had to finish it, before I could put it down. Good book, great job!
