I give Sacrificed (Book 3 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy) by Anna Applegate, 4 stars.
*This book may contain spoilers of previous books in the series.*
This is the final book in this trilogy and it has outdone itself. Each book gets better and the story progresses as it goes on. Now Ariya knows who and what they are now up against. They are searching for something that is supposed to help them. But each step they take takes them deeper and deeper. Not to mention the traitor, whom they have no idea just who it is. Can they do it? What will have to be sacrificed?
This trilogy has turned out to be so much better than I thought it could be when I started book 1. I believe this book is the perfect conclusion. There is so much going on. Yes, we know the final goal by now, but the things they have to do and face in the meantime will keep you reading and reading. I could not put this book down. I liked book one and two, but this was my favorite.
I highly recommend this book to young adult and older to those who like action and supernatural adventure and romance.
Sacrificed is the third and final book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy by author Anna Applegate. In this book Ariya, James, Nick, Caroline and Riley are in search of the weapon they will need to destroy the evil that is Audrey once and for all. The action is at its apex when Ariya and her protectors are faced with not only finding the weapon and dealing with Audrey but also fighting rogue vampires and werewolves. The Protector council is on their trail and there is a traitor in their midst, will they be able to abolish the threat or will Ariya’s life end before it has had a chance to begin?
I’ve had the pleasure of reading each book in the Ariya Adams trilogy and I have seen the writing of Anna Applegate get better and better. Sacrificed was amazing, it flowed smoothly and was an extremely fun read. I enjoyed the storyline and I thought the author did a very good job describing not only the characters trip to Europe but also the final battle. The growth of Ariya was amazing and while she started out as a whiny young woman she turned out to be a strong warrior woman who I cheered on until the end. I look forward to more from this author and I’m kind of interested in whether or not there will be more in this world of Ariya Adams.
Sacrificed is the final book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. With this being the last book in this series, it’s a bittersweet ending to come. I absolutely loved every single one of these books. Anna Applegate continues to make each of these books better than the last which I was not surprised about. This author has an incredible writing style, makes some incredible plots/storylines and has created some of the best characters that I have read in a while.
I can’t put into words how much I have enjoyed this series and this book. Sacrificed begins immediately after the events of Book 2 with a brief overview of previous events through Book 1 & Book 2 in this series, there is a seamless transition between all three books and you never feel as though you have missed vital information. But once again this one did not disappoint It was once again filled with History of Ariya and James family line, mystery, suspense & romance, and friendship that goes beyond words. They are action-packed and keeps you totally captivated till the very end of the book. Especially this one when you are left feeling that this was the last book in the series, where you hope that this won’t be the last you read of these characters that you have come to love and root for through these books.
Anna Applegate has created such an amazing reality filled with paranormal beings, magic, love, trust, friendship, action and adventure, she creates an incredible world that feels as though you are being transported into this world and are following this journey along with the characters.
Each of these characters that you have come to love, really do make this story what it is. Ariya has made the biggest change through this story, she has grown as a person, she has experienced things that nobody should ever have to face, yet she continues to become stronger. She may have moments when she doubts the ones around her, but that’s all down to the fact that she wants to protect them just as much as they protect her.
James is the best male character through this series and has stood out to me the most, through all the ups and downs he has continued to try and do what needs to be done all the while trying to change his ways to finally be able to live his life with someone who he has fallen for.
With each secondary characters that become involved in this story you can’t help but enjoy the part they play, but Nick & Caroline feel more like main characters to me as they make just as much impact to this story as the main ones; James & Ariya.
I cannot say again how incredible this series was! I’m sad to see this series come to an end, and I just hope we get a glimpse of these characters again in another story. This book is not to be missed, you will truly be captivated from the beginning until the end, and be compelled to keep turning the pages to find out what will happen next with the twists that happen through the book, but you will never be disappointed!
Well Done Anna Applegate on a fantastic first series and I cannot wait to see what other books or series’s you bring us in the future!
a great read about facing danger. after the events of the previous instalment, Ariya Adams sets out to a german castle to find a mystical weapon that will help her destroy a powerful enemy. but when she finds it, the werewolves begin to close in, and her friends suspect a traitor is among them. unable to trust anyone will they discover how to use the weapon in time before their enemies find them?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns. can be read as a standalone but best read as part of the trilogy. well developed characters like Ariya struggling to be brave for her friends while standing up for herself or Caroline as a sweet supportive friend and Rileys caring natrue under his use of humour. I loved the sense of mystery over who the traitor is which was well drawn out through the novel. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel in the inside of the castle at the ball with the chandeliers and dresses and the candles giving it a magical feel with a sense of it being in a fairytale which was beautifully written. I also loved the mix of fantasy with the castle and the dagger and the scifi with the vampires which was a great combination. the only issue I would raise is that there was some repetition in places retelling information from the previous two novels. overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.
Hands down, loved this book and this series. It is best appreciated read in the order presented. The characters continue to be richly developed and relatable. The plot pace was steady. I wasn’t ready for the story to end but I thoroughly enjoyed the journey this author took me on. Highly recommended.
Sacrificed- Anna Applegate
5-star review
Sacrificed by Anna Applegate is an amazing conclusion to Ariya’s story. This is the third book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy, a paranormal series that I loved from start to finish. I would suggest reading this series in order as each book follows where the other left off. Although the characters and backstory are lightly touched on in the beginning of each book it would be easier to follow this story in order.
Just like the first two books I read this one in one sitting as I just couldn’t seem to put it down, there was never a dull moment with the action-packed storyline that I was kept completely captivated until the end. Ariya’s story is intense, unique, unexpected and so suspenseful! There were many times where I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to read what would happen next. I honestly felt so sad when I reached the end as I connected with these characters from book one and I really enjoyed how this story developed. I would absolutely recommend this series to anyone looking for their next paranormal read!
Sacrificed (Ariya Adams Trilogy #3)
By Anna Applegate
Rated 5 stars
The third book in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. As with the other two books I found myself entrenched in the story. I could hardly put it down and read in it near a day. This is full of excitement, danger and all that other paranormal stuff. Vampires, werewolves and witches.
Ariya and the crew are looking in a German castle to find something that can be used to protect Ariya from Audrey (book2) for the future. There is considerable tension between James and Ariya. She mentioned need some space in the last book and it seems he has come to terms with it. Ariya however has not. Fickle women right? Wanting one thing but saying another. Well we will see how things go but I’m hoping for a reconciliation. I love them together. James is just….so James! I mean he is REALLy Into her. The passion is so real I can almost feel it!
Riley, Nick and Caroline are also back to round out the group. They are the best compadres! Always helping or NoT helping Ariya’s cause. Much to the dismay of James.
Although this could be read as a stand-alone you would get so much more enjoyment out of the first two books and that would lead you Into this one. Anna Applegate was a first time author for me before I began reading this series. I enjoy reading her writing. I almost feel these characters are real and I expect to see them at the mall or local food eatery. I will define be looking for more books from her.
Oh….the epilogue…interesting…
Sacrificed is the third and final book in the Ariya Adams trilogy by Anna Applegate. Why was this only a trilogy after that ending I need so much more I want to know what happens next. I absolutely loved this trilogy it was so entertaining and kept my attention as I never thought paranormal books would. The group of friends in the story have overcome a lot together and though there are many crazy situations they get themselves in, they will always protect one another. Although it is the fact that Ariya wants to protect her friends that may get them into more trouble. I truly wish there was more than an epilogue at the end, I need to know more, will we ever?? Overall, the series was wonderful and I am happy that I chose to venture outside of my usual genres.
SACRIFICED is Book 3 in the Ariya Adams Trilogy and the first two really should be read before you indulge in this paranormal fantasy.
Book 3 ties up all of the loose ends, brings a conclusion to the events that have taken place (cough cough make sure you read the epilogue) and left me feeling satisfied that I had read an enjoyable series. This trilogy feels like it was written as 1 epic tale and then split into three sections. There was a seamless transition in each book.
The characters all grew in their roles and ultimately meshed really well. There were plenty of adventures to keep the story flowing and the story moved a little quicker than the previous stories because there wasn’t a need for world building.
As I stated in my review of the first book in the series, this is a genre that has become familiar and frequently written about but the Ariya Adams Trilogy has a little extra UMPH that made the reading that much more enjoyable. The author had a way to hold my interest from beginning to end and I would recommend this series.
****
This is the third book in this series by this author, I highly suggest reading this book and the previous books to get full enjoyment. Ariya has a life changing secret. She is searching for a weapon needed to bring down the most powerful evil. Will Ariya be able to save her friends in time? This story is full of action, suspense, twists and turns that will keep you reading. The characters are engaging, strong and developed. The story is easy to flow and will keep you engaged until the last page.
Sacrificed by Anna Applegate is book three in the Ariya Adams Trilogy. I definitely recommend reading the first two as this is the conclusion and everything leads up to this book. This was a fun series. The author has an uncanny ability to suck you into her world of vampires, werewolves and magic. Ariya and her friends are on a mission to find a weapon that can destroy a really dangerous evil. The writing was so good as always and I loved the characters. I especially love Ariya and James. Ariya really grew throughout the series. Overall I really liked it and would recommend to anyone who likes paranormal. 4 star rating.
