In this regency romance about undying love by USA TODAY bestselling and HOLT Medallion winning author Bree Wolf, a battle-scarred soldier and his dauntless widow learn that nothing is ever truly lost…if there’s someone left to fight for it.England 1806: EDWARD DUNNING had it all, a beautiful home, two adorable children and a wife he has loved all his life. But still he yearned for more, for … yearned for more, for excitement, for adventure, for the glory of war and heroism. How foolish he had been! How young!
Crippled in body and soul by the horrors of war, Edward returns home after two years. Two years during which his family thought him dead, fallen in battle. Scarred and bitter, Edward knows that he has no right to be allowed back into their lives. After all, how could his beautiful wife love the unfeeling monster he has become?
Still, Edward knows he needs to see to his family’s welfare if nothing else.
The moment she learned of her husband’s death, MEAGAN DUNNING’s life fell apart. Each breath hurt. Each step was agony. Each day a reminder of her loss. Still, as a mother, Meagan had to find a way to continue on, to smile and laugh, to grow stronger. Not for herself, but for her son and daughter.
And then, two years later, another day upends her world yet again.
In front of her, Meagan sees a ghost of her past, a ghost that reminds her of a man of flesh and blood, a man she loved beyond reason. However, this ghost is crippled in more ways than the eye can see, and she can feel him slipping away the moment he shows up on her doorstep.
Edward had forgotten his wife’s fierce will and unyielding love. He’d forgotten how wonderful it felt to hold her in his arms. He’d forgotten the simple joys of a kiss and a touch. Unfortunately, Meagan is determined to remind him…and he knows his will has never been a match for hers.

Sacrificed Reclaimed- The Soldier’s Daring Widow by Bree Wolf is a beautiful, heartfelt love story. A bonus Novella. A quick read with no cliffhanger, but does lead into the possiblity of another story. Beautifully crafted with engaging and charming characters. The storyline flows seamlessly and effortlessly. This story will definitely claim your heart with a marriage of convenience, a bit of mystery, a touch of humor and all the heartfelt emotions. I enjoyed the characters, watching them grow to find their HEA and accept their past ghosts, which was beautifully written. A must read for fans of Regency Historical Romance, romantic stories, HEA and a satisfying and enjoyable read. While, this is #8 in Ms. Wolf’s “Love’s Second Chance” it can be read as a stand alone.
Though this is a short novella, Bree Wolf has woven an emotional homecoming story of an assumed dead husband who left for the adventure of war. He returns to a wife who survived his loss and managed to keep her family together with the help of his best friend Derek, featured in book 7 of the series. Edward and Meagan receive a second chance at love but need to work through all the guilt and regrets Edward has about having left his family and going off to war. A strong 4 to 4 ½ star read!
I received a free ARC of this novella and voluntarily leave an unbiased review of Sacrificed and Reclaimed.

When her husband Edward goes off to war leaving Megan and her two children to manage without him life is hard when she learns he died on the battlefield she struggles during the day to raise her children by night she dreams to keep him near. What happens when 2years after losing him Edward returns from the dead. What has changed and what can be endured is their story. I gave this only four stars because the word ye was driving me crazy

Separated by the need for adventure, injured at war, and left for dead Edward Dunning returns to England broken in body and mind to find his wife Megan has grown into a strong and independent wife. The majority of this novella expresses the fear, despair, and desires of Megan and Edward both before and during their reunion. Matthew suffering from regret, insecurity regarding his self-worth, and nightmares after a duel has gone wrong vows to do anything his cousin Tristan requires.
Coincidence and a threat to use Lady Adelaide as collateral at a card game embroils Matthew Baron Whitworth in a marriage of convenience to the woman he has been secretly attracted to. Complexed, interesting, and easy flowing this novel focuses on such topics as legitimacy and birthright vs blood and emotions as the true meaning of family and recovering from abuse. There are some twists and secrets but the end is ultimately heartwarming.

This is a complicated and ironic plot of desire, greed, and revenge with the dark themes of forced contractual arranged marriages, mental illness, abuse, and rape.
Discovering he had been manipulated by his father, thirty-year-old Sebastian CampbellViscount Huntly/ Earl of Weston returns from his tour of the continent to his home of Hartridge Hall when he learns his father has forced his younger sister Victoria into a loveless marriage to the abusive Lord Northfield which spurs Sebastian to taunt his father by marrying “an unsuitable woman of unknown parentage” Lotte Ferris/ Lady Charlotte Frampton, who just happens to be one of Lord Northfild’s past rape victims and long thought dead. Violet now 18 loves her family and the life of a Privateer but coincidence, well intentions, irony, and a little subterfuge in the form of a fake marriage to Oliver the Earl of Cullingwood place Violet back in the restricting life of British Nobility and back together with the man she was promised to as a child. This is a well-written romance with a complex plot involving a meeting on the high seas, lots of drama, answered prayers, the true meaning of family, breaking with tradition, and of course true love. This novel contains some violence, expresses the harshness that can be found in the British aristocracy, is suspenseful, action-packed, and ends in a hook.

Alexandra and Antoine’s romance is one of escaping the controlling English aristocracy’s habit of selling daughters into marriage for gain and that of finding an everlasting true love when you least expect it. Seamless and smooth flow this is a complete and fulfilling sweet romance. I could feel the emotions between Antoine and his father, Antoine, and Henri and Antoine and Alexandra. This is a well-written sweet romance and an excellent precursor to Condemned and Admired or Violet’s story.
12. Book 11: Oppressed and Empowered: The Viscount’s Capable Wife also Tales of Damsels and Knights book 5:5 stars

Best if read in series. Contains social conflicts and a cliffhanger.
Evelyn and Lord Richard Ashford’s romance is a sweet historical winter-based novel of opposites both in both personality and belief in a woman’s ability to have a career, an arranged marriage, and that of hidden attraction realized. Suspenseful with some twists, multiple conflicts, an ailing father, a loving mother, an unplanned pregnancy, a well-meaning brother who guards his emotions, and a young woman advocating her right to be a Doctor are just of the few of the things that make this novel interesting while reflecting concerns of the era. Although there is a happy ending for Evelyn and Richard, this novel does end in a cliffhanger.

Complex, easy flowing, complete, and satisfying with suggestions at sequels. Emma and Finnegan are nudged by well-meaning friends who try and bring them together and thus end the seven-year misunderstanding that continues to separate them. Wonderful characters, glimpses at four vastly different romances, and of course a happy ending make this complex holiday clean romance one well worth reading.

A story of conflict, love, loyalty, and duty with a poignant but happy ending. Complex, highly descriptive, easy flowing, and captivating but with a sinister and suspenseful undertone in the form of depression, grief, and death. Jealousy and second sight result in disgrace, betrayal, being labeled a witch and Moira’s being banished from her home and the protection of both her brother Alistair and her cousin Laird Connor Brunwood of Greystone Castle in the Scottish Highlands to the lonely protection of her mother’s sister and the clan of the empath Cromag MacDrummond of Seann Dachaigh Tower.
A short, poignant story of a soldier once thought dead returns home. He learns that he is still much loved and wanted even though he felt guilty for leaving in the first place. However, he learns that love knows no bounds, not distance, not time. His own reticence quickly dissolved when he found he could not lose the unconditional love of his family.

As always Bree Wolf never disappoints her readers. Loved this book.
Back from the dead.
A widow still morns the husband she lost in the war, until he shows up almost three years later. He may have an injured leg, but in his mind he bears the guilt for leaving his wife and children for glory and adventure. Will his wife be able to convince him to stay? Not an easy read.
Sacrificed & Reclaimed by Bree Wolf is a wonderful historical romance. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Wolf has once again impressed me with her story-telling abilities with another well-written book. The characters in this book are fantastic. Edward had a great life, a home, a wife and children that he loved but he wanted more so he went to war. Meagan was crushed when Edward was presumed dead. When Edward’s friend arrived he talked her into returning to his new home with him so he could look after her and the children. Edward and Meagan’s story is packed with drama, humor, action and just a little suspense. I enjoyed reading Sacrificed & Reclaimed and can’t wait for my next book by Bree Wolf. Sacrificed & Reclaimed is book 8 of the Love’s Second Chance Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Short but good read about love lost, remorse for past actions, and a chance for love regained
Bree Wolf always delivers delightful and unusual stories with twists that mean an enjoyable read.
NEVER LOSE HOPE!!!

This is one exceptional rides that takes you on a journey of self discovery to find strength you never knew you possessed. When the world hands you lemons, ask for the sugar. The characters are relatable and realistic. Their personalities play off one another beautifully. The scenes mesmerizing. Twists and turns bring this read to life with suspense and undying love. Bree out did herself on this masterpiece. Remarkable job bringing this read to life flawlessly. Great job Bree, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.

Love Bree’s books, can. Ot put otmdown 7ntil Imhave finished it!
Short review. Short but still a delightful read. Good addition to the Second Chance Series, Edward and Meagan have a lot to overcome to find there way back together. Meagan’s determination to not give up on Edward no matter how hard it got will make you love her.
In this post-Napoleonic war romance, I found myself being drawn into the sadness that surrounded Meagan – firstly when her husband went to war; then when he was proclaimed dead; and thirdly when he unexpectedly returned a broken man. In this modern era, we have been made aware of the devastating effects of war, PTSD, rehabilitation of soldiers and the bombardment of horror over international news almost on a daily basis. However, when we read the history books, the horrific impact of war on the men and their families of the Regency era is glossed over and apart from memorising dates, it has little impact on us 200 years later. On the other hand, Edward is suffering not only from PTSD but also from a very deep depression. He rues the mistakes he made, little realising that whilst he has changed and is another man altogether, his precious wife is too as she has been left with the aftermath of having to deal with his supposed death. In many ways, this was a tragic story, one that jerked at the heartstrings, but the triumphant message is that love conquers all. The story is well-written and fairly short. It can be read in an evening. As with all the other books by this author, this book is clean and can be read by any age group. It is part of a series and as such characters from previous books also appear in this one and it does end on a very positive and happy note. I received a copy of this book for free and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I’d like to give 4.5* for “very good”. Nicely spun tale of a believed-dead soldier returning home, unsure of his welcome and riddled with guilt for leaving. I felt the uneasiness of the pair with each other after the years of separation was quite believable. I also enjoyed re-visiting with the characters of book 7.
I received a free advance copy and voluntarily read and reviewed it.
Bree Wolf has done it again! Another wonderful addition to the Love’s Second Chance Series. So much tension and action in this book. We find Meagan Dunning and her children living at Huntington Hall after a tree crashed through their home and destroyed it. While there, a visitor comes calling that turns out to be none other than Meagan’s dead husband, Edward.
Edward was supposed to have died in the war two years ago, so how is he standing before Meagan now? What really happened to him and why is he determined to leave almost as soon as he arrived? Will Edward stay and be a husband and father to his wife and children?
I was so frustrated with Meagan and Edward, especially Edward, that I wanted to bash their heads together and tell them, Edward, to wake up. However, this all makes for good reading and keeps your attention throughout the book. I was not disappointed in this book and eagerly await more stories from Bree Wolf.
If you enjoy clean, Christian, historical romance, then you will absolutely love this book. Pick up a copy for yourself and find out. Enjoy!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author without expectation of a positive review. The opinions stated are my own and no one influenced me in any way.

A grieving widow. A tortured hero. And a fateful love.
Edward Dunning had it all: a beautiful home, two adorable children and a wife who was his soul mate. Only he wanted more, so he went to war and did not return.
In the blink of an eye, Meagan lost her husband, her future, her dreams. Her husband’s best friend Derek takes her under his wing. Until, in the very moment two years later when she found her way back into life, her husband shows up on her doorstep. Broken by the horrors of war, Edward is a far cry from the man Meagan lost her heart to.
An emotional read of lost love, second chances & misunderstandings. The characters are well fleshed & likeable. Edward feels he’s lost everything & is totally unworthy. Meagan has learned to be strong & to fight for what she wants. I thoroughly enjoyed what proved to be an engrossing captivating read, which took me through a whole gamut of emotions. My only quibble was I didn’t want it to end & wish it had have been longer
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
