Coyle O’Caha, a seven-hundred-year-old, immortal druid sorcerer, has one claim to fame—his experience mentoring fledgling witches. Three years ago, he found his soulmate, Deri Sullivan. With Deri haunting his dreams, he can no longer wait to claim her. He’s tired of waiting for her to fall for his charms and see that he’s the man for her. Of course, that’s easier said than done since Deri is … immune to both his charm and magik.
Deri Sullivan’s boss is a real piece of work. Not only is Coyle a millionaire with a body to die for and an attitude to match, but he also has a Scottish lilt which makes her knees weak. He’s a certified ladies’ man. A man she should avoid at all costs. A man she can’t seem to quit dreaming about. A man with whom she wishes she could share her secret. Sometimes love happens at its own pace, other times, a supernatural nudge is needed.

A witch walks into a bar
This book is a fantastically wonderful gentle glide into a new series. The author focused this story mostly on the relationship between Coyle and Deri with a side of excitement to keep us guessing. I love the family dynamics and, other than wishing it was longer, enjoyed the HEA. I hope the next book is about Kory, but I am sure it’s going to be delicious no matter which hot druid she brings our way.
love it
This was a fun, quick afternoon read. The snark was free flowing, the tension was heady, and the HEA was sweet! I did wish that there would have been more of the bad guy/conflict but all in all a solid read!
I couldn’t put this one down, it is full of action, funny and I enjoyed the characters as well as the story. This was a good read for me. Enjoy!
A quick, easy read which I was aware of in the author’s descriptive teaser. Deri, a witch who had to pay for a magical crime she didn’t commit; an ex turned stalker named Chad; and an Immortal Highlander Mage. The world building wonderful and the character’s personalities had qualities that were totally relatable. There were a few spots I would’ve liked to see more detail rather than glossed over or neglected, but all in all, this was a good story and a wonderful introduction to a series I’ve yet to read. Perhaps there will be more able these characters in an upcoming book.
this series, a great
I liked the world it created but was taken aback how short it was…could have been longer and more complex……especially with characters created
Good story, too short.
I have read all of the books. There fantastic. Can’t wait to ready more of her books.
Definitely an erotic romance with wonderful strong characters!
Deri is on the run or actually looking for cover now she is banished and is not allowed to use magic anymore. This thanks to an evil and dark sorcerer who framed something on her.
She is hiding in a little town and looking for work she walks in to the pub Coyle owns. Coyle is directly highly attracted to her, but she can’t be his mate, because she is human and he is a druid. He doesn’t know she is a witch, but is allowed to use her magic.
Great read with the evil sorcerer showing up on some point.
Next to action there are many sparks between the two before the real hot and steamy action.
Only down point at this book? I wouldn’t mind if there were more pages in this book.
Only complaint- too short!
I love all her books.
Way too short. Even for a novella it felt rushed. It has all the bones to be a full length fully fleshed out book but makes these big jumps. Unfortunate because the premise is delightful.
Sacred Places, book #1 in the Druid series by Mandy M. Roth.
This story was really great! Sweet, steamy, great characters and storyline, it was just short and the ending seemed rushed into a few pages. The audio narration was fantastic!! I definitely want to explore more in this world of Druids!
Deri is a witch, who has been banned from using her magik or contacting her family after her former boyfriend, Chad, used Magik that harmed a human, and promptly blamed her for it. Paranormal Bureau of Investigations enforces the sanctions and she ends up in Grove Bluff, a town she’s passed through years ago and had felt at home in.
Coyle is the owner of the pub Deri goes to looking for work. He is a 700 year old, tattooed, Scottish Druid, who protects the local humans from things that go bump in the night.
I thought the story was great, I’ve never really read anything about Druids before. However I thought the confrontation with Chad was kind of short and could have been more in-depth. The story is short but there could have been a bit more on this as there was a chunk explaining Deri’s background.
It is a quick break from reality with a sexy Highlander (as a Scot I sometimes found the word usage a bit weird but this will fill your nothing that would put me off. Sexy rolls off the page with Coyle and looking forward to the others in the series.
I loved this book. It is short but has a great story. Deri is a witch who is on a magic ban because of her ex and the PBI. Coyle is an Immortal Druid who is 700 years old and cannot wait until he meets his other half. On the run and unable to use magic Deri goes to the first town she remembered. When she is looking for work she keeps getting pushed to a pub, not just any pub, the one that Coyle owns. From the very beginning there is chemistry and attraction. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.
I enjoyed reading this book ,I can’t wait for more from this author.
Coyle and deri both magic born. She is a witch on the run from an evil sorcerer and he is a 700+ year old Druid. But neither knows that about the other despite being drawn to one another as if they were mates. But she can’t be her mate if she is human. Lol. Good book.
