The main character is in love with an Orthodox Jew and is considering converting. This adds an unusual twist to the love story that sometimes seems a little contrived. At the same time there is a really perverse crime going on. It’s a little odd.

Good detective story intertwined with some romance between likable characters. This is the 2nd book in a series and it probably helps to read the first book to be familiar with the characters.

I liked the book and the main characters but the underground sex world was not something I cared to explore. Dark subject matter.

It is the beginning of Decker and his (now) wife. A little slow and I read when it first came out. It is the 2nd(?) book of the series and is a little like a soap opera. Will she or will she not????. Over all it is a good book but not near as interesting as the following books.

This is an excellent murder/mystery juxtaposed between what we would call our outlook and from inside of orthodox Judaism. The main character is is living in an unfamiliar religion while solving crimes in mainstream society. The contrast in addition to solving the crime keeps you focused on everything so you don’t miss anything!
