I was so excited to finally get to read Riley and Tiff’s story. They finally found their way from tragedy to each other. Very well write and steamy. I love all of the Jami Davenport books that I have read.
Oh I love to read Jami Davenport’s Sport Romance Novels! I was so excited to start the Men of Tyee book with Sacked in Seattle. I squealed with joy when I found out the book was Riley and Tiff’s story! They are all grown up now! Even though Riley never stopped loving Tiff, he didn’t realize that they are still broken. Riley may feel that he has healed from a dreadful day from his past, but did not realize he was broken way before then.
Tiff is trying to live day by day. She tries to move forward but has not really let go of the past. When she comes back into Riley’s life, I was shocked of the little support she got from his family. No one really wanted her to be around him. This story was so different on so many levels, but for a heroine to have to redeem herself was something different. It’s always the male that is the a*hole, but this time around it was Tiff. Slowly Riley made Tiff open up and we saw her for her true self. She was amazing.
Sacked in Seattle caught my eye with football, college days, and love that never dies. The drama that these characters go through was stomach twisting. I am predicting the next book of the series will about Riley’s best friend Gage. There was a story building up on the sidelines and I can hear Gage saying he will be back. This series can be addicting for me.
Riley Black has been holding out hope for a long time that his friend and crush would see him as he sees her, and finally give them a shot at forever. He knows the sparks bouncing around between them mean something… if only he could find a way to get her to admit it too. They share a devastating past, and also a night of passion that he has never forgotten, and he wants nothing more than to recreate that night and keep it on repeat. And now that she is back in town, attending the same school, he knows it’s now or never… he has to make his move and finally get his girl!
Returning to Seattle and signing-up to attend Tyee University has been an unnerving experience for Tiffani Vernon, mainly because the town holds so many memories, some very bad memories, but she is ready to put them behind her and move on once and for a all. But in order to do that she must face the source of some of those memories too, her friend Riley. She has harbored a crush on him since high school, but it has never been the right time to explore all the feelings and sparks they share… then again maybe now is the perfect time!!
The moment my eyes hit the page, the words took over and I found myself hanging on on dearly to every one of them, it was quite evident this one was going to leave a serious mark… and boy did it ever!! These characters got to me early on, they had my emotions churning, and had me teetering on the edge of my seat in hopes they would find way to deal with their devastating past and possibly find love along the way too. And without giving too much away, I will just say I thoroughly enjoyed what I found, it was a second chance romance that checked all my boxes and left me smiling! Highly recommend this one, the stunning story line will grip you from the first page and have you hanging onto every word long after the page is swiped!
Sacked in Seattle is the kind of story that draws you in from the first. Riley and Tiffani live a journey that is built on emotion. From heartache to guilt these characters are haunted by a history that is as tragic as their ever burning love. Tissues required. Once the trip begins, it’s hard to walk away until the end.
Riley came to live with his Uncle Cooper when he was fourteen years old, after his mother abandoned him at a motel for two weeks! Fast forward seven years and he’s finally where he wants to be in his life, until he spots Tiff at a party. Memories of a terrible day that haunts them both resurfaces
Tiff can’t believe it when she sees Riley across from her at a party. She knows she’s been lucky not bumping into him until now but she hoped she’d be able to dodge him as long as possible! When memories resurface, she runs off
Riley has his work cut out for him, if he wants to convince Tiff that they are right for each other and he will fight to win her over
°**°I loved this friends to knight in loving armour story°*°*
Surviving a school shooting is something not many of us can even imagine, but I have to say that I loved the story of survival and healing for both Riley and Tiffani.
I’m the reader who loves seeing what characters in past books have been up to, and I’ve absolutely enjoyed reading about the next generation once they grow up and become the next big things. Knowing their backgrounds gives me a feeling of a deeper relationship with the characters and I was really invested in Riley as a man versus knowing him as a belligerent teenaged boy. Yet when he is confronted with his past, I could feel the potential within both him and Tiff, that it could threaten their future if he can’t trust her and move forward. Jami Davenport’s writing is that good. The emotions fairly emanated from the virtual pages as I was reading.
Even though she was unharmed in the incident, the emotional toll of Tiffani was devastating, and in this book we are with her as she attempts to heal and open up to Riley.
This book was also a big lead into the next book in the series, and I couldn’t wait to read whether Gage will recover from his potentially career ending injury. I loved that in spite of being a man spreading his sexual favours far and wide about campus, he was in Riley’s corner. These sports romances of Jamie Davenports are definitely more-ish. 5 Stars.
Great story about Tiff and Riley. Especially dealing with the trauma of the school shooting her moving and returning after her parents divorce and how they finally came together
Riley Black had been in love with Tiffani for as long as he could remember. When a tragedy in highschool draws them together as friends, it also pulls them apart as Tiffani longs to escape everything that reminds her of that day the minute she graduates.
Now a senior in college, Riley is enjoying being on the football team and all the perks that come with being an athlete. All that changes as soon as he catches a glimpse of Tifg across the room at a crowded frat party.
Tiffani Vernon has been trying to escape from the demons in her past since that fateful day in highschool the changed the lives of both her and her classmates forever. When she is forced back to her hometown for financial reasons, the past comes crashing back down on her . . . and so does Riley no matter how hard she tries to ignore his advances. Even though Tiff has had a crush on Riley for years, she just can’t help to associate him with the tragedy they lived through and isn’t sure she can emotionally survive giving in to a relationship with him.
Jami Davenport wrote a really beautiful tale of love and friendship. Both Riley and Tiffani lived through an experience that almost ended both of their lives. It drew them together in ways that would forever bind them, however, the baggage is extremely heavy and hard to leave in the past. While Riley is ready to finally get the girl he wants when fate brings her back to town, Tiff does everything she can to avoid her old crush.
Riley decides Tiff is worth it, however and begins to pursue her with an effort worthy of the beautifully broken young woman. Riley is also broken in ways that he knows Tiff can help him heal fro if she will only give a relationship with him a try.
This book had some heartbreaking moments as we learn just what happened that fateful day 7 years ago and how it affected and continues to affect RIley and Tiffani daily. It was also a story of hope as we got to watch how both characters not only learned to cope but also heal so they could begin living life rather than hiding from it. I loved watching Riley fight for Tiff and Tiff finally realizing that she wanted to fight for Riley as well. 4 stars.
4.5 star Review Sacked in Seattle: Game On in Seattle Rookies (Men of Tyee #1) by Jami Davenport
This is book one in her exciting new series and I have to say that she is off to a flying start; I do believe she has another winning series on her hand.
Having met Riley and Tiff before, we fast forward a few years to where these two are given a second chance at love. Tiffani ran from Riley and Seattle years ago but now she is back and attending the same college. Still devastated and caught up in her past she finds it impossible to move on and embrace the here and now. Her walls are up and she has no intention of letting anyone, least of all Riley breach them; however she hasn’t counted on Riley’s determination to get his second chance at happiness with her.
What an emotional roller coaster of a read this book was. Sacked in Seattle had my stomach tied in knots, crying and laughing and praying that these two would make it through and get the happily ever after that they both deserved.
Will the secrets from their pasts, come back to haunt them or will Riley and Tiff finally face the past head on and move forward? One click to find out.
How our society has to deal with mass shootings, it’s sad that we even have to have such discussions. What happened was sad but to be honest, the writer didn’t present enough angst for the tragic plot of young lives lost. The male main character has to man up and get over his family life, he’s not the only one who had a bad childhood. Don’t make it a shameful thing.
