Being competitive in college leads to so much more. Rian and Wes were competitive all through college and both wanted an internship to NY. Rian gets a job in Nebraska and is shocked to see Wes is the CEO. They have to work together on a project and their old feelings are coming back. On a business trip she gets a call that her daughter is in the hospital and has to return to Nebraska and Wes accompanied her. At the hospital he goes in the little girls room and at one look knows it his daughter, the one he never knew about! Will Rian finally tell him the truth?

I enjoyed this book.
Why?
I liked that Rian got the internship over Wes.
But now, years later, she’s back and needs a job. So she’s working for Wes.
What comes around goes around?
Recommend.
Second time around
Rian and Wes had gotten together in college not to see each other until years later. She moves from New York with her daughter to Nebraska. She had never told him about the pregnancy since it was the result of a one-night-stand, and she planned to never tell him. As a person Rian is quite selfish thinking only of herself, but not about the potential benefits of introducing Rian (a really good guy) and his daughter to each other. Some of her reasoning is severely flawed, but isn’t that part of being human. Will she overcome her fear of no longer having all of her daughter’s love to her alone? Great characters and writing in this definitely original story.

The author done great writing this book. I love the cover absolutely adorable, I also love baby surprise romance with wonderful characters and this storyline has competition between the lovers and then finally a hea
Loved the book. The story was well written and the history provided was needed to understand the current dynamic and chemistry of the characters. I lived the ending.
A cute story about two people, Rian and Wes, who had a one-night stand while in college and never saw each other again. She moved to New York, he stayed in Nebraska. Seven years later she returns to her home town with a six year old daughter, the result of the one-night stand, and goes to work for her ex- boyfriend who is CEO of a local company. He doesn’t know about the child, and she isn’t planning to tell him. In the course of the story, they start a new affair, Wes finds out about the child, and a lot of other things are going on which lead to a happy ending for all. The story drags a little because she is so uncertain about disclosing the child to Wes, since it has been a secret for so long – but circumstances force her hand and bring out the truth. Both characters were sound and logical in their behavior, and both were well meaning, nice people who you wanted to see resolve the various issues so they could get together. A one night stand, internship, intrigue, romance, and a big secret. Wes and Rian met and we’re competitive with each other. All of a sudden, Rian leaves Wes and the internship. Years later their paths cross again. This time they are both older. Wes is determined to not let Rian go until he.discovers her secret which involves him. Can they get past the secret and competitiveness in order to move one into the future?

Rian and Wes met at business school and competed all the time. They both applied for the same New York internship and Rian got it. She didn’t tell Wes and left for New York without even saying goodbye. Fast forward seven years and she is back in the same town as Wes where she lived before. She had accepted a job with his company not knowing that he was now the CEO. Wow, what a great story. Competitors. One-night stand. Hot chemistry. And a little girl. Highly recommend this story.
WOW!!!! What else is there to say. This was a really HOT story, and you will be missing out if you do not read it. I could not put it down it was that good!
In the last year I have read over 300 books with story line very similar. I felt like this book was missing substance. Would have been nice to know about Rian life in NYC felt like we weren’t getting much of a story. Nor did we get much history of Wes. And what the hell was Beths problem.

When Rian starts her new job she never imagined her new boss would be the man who fathered her child. The man who has no idea about their daughter.
Can she keep the secret or will he find out?
Exciting with so much tension that bursts when secrets are revealed.

I really enjoyed this one. Rian and Wes are fantastic characters, interesting, well developped and definitely flawed. I was hooked by their story and their struggles to communicate and move on. A perfect way to while away a few hours.

College sweethearts, secret pregnancy, lost love and a happy ever after this book has it all. Drama, twists and turns 5 stars to you Annie for a book well done. Guess who has a new boss and the boss is her baby daddy? Rian thought she had the world best kept secret but secret always has a way of coming out. Wes, the CEO of her company that she works for and her new boss. One thing I did not like was Rian keeping Ronny a secret from Wes. Wes was a good guy and I think would have been a great father if he had known about her at the beginning. I really enjoyed the book.

a good secret baby book about Wes and Rian and their daughter Ronny who Wes didn’t know about , it’s in both their POV’s but as you read it there isn’t much interaction between them until near the end , it’s more about what they are thinking , feeling their thoughts , regrets and more , a good enjoyable read from Annie

Okay – I liked the story, but I think the “s”; for this book shouldn’t so much be for “secret”; but for “selfishness”. This story is about Rian and Wes. In college they were very competitive in business. Well the one night that he became her knight by rescuing her, was also the night that they had a one night stand. She never thought she could feel anything for him as they were always trying to prove each other off. Of course, she leaves without a goodbye all because she got the internship he wanted and she was afraid to say something to him. He was left with a broken heart not just because of the internship, but because he actually felt something for her. Years go by as she returns home from NYC and has been hired in the same company which Wes is the CEO. Her secret will be discovered but will it affect the future she could have? Annie has a way of making every story end with a HEA, in which this one has it too, so you will not be disappointed.
Although I know this is just a story, my personal opinion is that there was so much wrong when a person makes the decision to not let the other know that they are expecting, especially when the other parent wasn’t abusive or bad in anyway. I can understand being a bit confused as they are both starting their lives, but six years later and still giving herself the logic that it is the right thing to do. I have a huge heart for kids and for a child to not have an opportunity to enjoy what could have been with a father all for a “selfishness”; act of a mother, is unacceptable.

ONE PULSE POUNDING DELIGHT!!!
Unbelievable! Annie unleashes one fantastic, block busting bombshell sending this baby into a tizzy, racing through a churning vortex, chocked full of unexpected events, blasting this baby wide open. Blundering through the trials and tribulations, along with a multitude of sharp twists and skeek turns, fuse this little fella together flawlessly. Meting out incredibly, well rounded scenario’s that punch dead center with such intensity and precision, thrusting this baby into a tailspin with stunning results. An awesome storyline and gripping plot keeps you on the edge of your seat as everything falls into place with such perfection it leaves you craving more. The chemistry sizzles from the pages alluring and mesmerizing until you feel the electrifying hum through your veins. The characters are authentic and realistic with qualities and traits that blend into amazing personalities. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Annie, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
Annie J. Rose has written a 5-star book that has Rian and Wes dealing with feelings that are from their college days. Wes is the CEO of the company that Rian is now coming to work for. She doesn’t know that the father of her daughter Ronny is now going to be her boss. She never told Wes that she was pregnant and now 7 years later she doesn’t know how to tell him. As they work together more their feelings start to come back for one another. They were working on a project to try to get Devin McKay of an investment company to work with them. Devin had just had a meeting with them and now tells them that he wants them both to come to New York to pitch the idea to the board. Rian doesn’t want to go because she has never left her daughter and now she has no one to keep her. She goes back to her office and tells her assistant, Angie this and Angie tells her that she would keep her while she is gone since she has kids and one of them is about Ronny’s age. After the presentation for the board, Devin, Wes, and Rian go to lunch. Devin gets a call and he has to leave. While waiting on their food, Rian gets a call from Angie telling her that Ronny has had an accident and she is in the hospital with a broken arm. Rian goes back to the table and tells Wes that she has to leave and why. After they land Wes tells her he will take her to the hospital, but she doesn’t want him to see Ronny. She knows that she needs to tell him that he is a father but she just doesn’t know how after 7 years. Wes goes up to the room with food for Rian and he sees Angie there and he asks her why she is there and she tells him that she was watching Ronny. Wes finds out with just one look at the little girl on the gurney next to Rian that she is his daughter. Now Rian has a lot of explaining to do but she tells him not at the hospital. Wes is trying to come to terms with being a father.
Can Rian explain to Wes why she didn’t let him know he was a father and allow him into their lives?
Will Wes ever trust Rian after she left him before and not telling him about Ronny?
This book was such a wonderful read that will have the reader feeling what the characters feel. It will have you reading just to find out what happens next. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story.

This book was a page turner, liked how Wes was there for Rian, no matter the decisions she made. The characters were well developed and thoroughly described of their personalities. Enjoyed the aspect of the both with faults and willing to admit the mistakes they’ve made. I was pleased with the outcome of this book and how Devin continued to be a friend to both the main characters.
