My name is Rylee and I was a Tracker. The final battle is over and The Blood of the Lost was spilled. In the aftermath, the humans still have mysteries they call upon me for. Except I can no longer Track, and my new abilities terrify me.A salvage is offered to me, and with it a chance to redeem myself. A missing girl, her brother desperate to find her. Simple and straightforward, this salvage … straightforward, this salvage should be a piece of cake – and a chance to learn some discipline with my powers.
Except the girl is somehow tied to the world of the Elementals, and with that comes a danger I could never have expected.
As I search for her, I realize it is not only her life that is on the line, but my soul and sanity as well, as the voices and unnatural needs in me grow more demanding.
If I am to save us both, I must face the darkness within; and this time, I must do it all by myself.

Rylee (The Rylee Adamson Epilogues #1)
It’s been about 6 months since the great battle that changed their World & Rylee forever! As grateful as she is to be alive Rylee doesn’t really trust her Daywalking Vampire self to around her loved ones. She’s held herself back, apart from them & it’s hurting them all!
She’s been offered a lot of salvage jobs but she’s no longer a Tracker. One is really niggling at her though. Liam eventually calls her out, tells her to do the salvage & find herself while she’s gone too because he misses her, they all do!! She knows he’s completely right but fears she’ll never find balance & will never be safe to return!!
This was an interesting read. Rylee was harbouring a lot of self doubt & almost hatred towards herself. This is journey to find a missing girl, Belinda, but also for Rylee to see if she can find out how & where she now fits into this world, not as a Tracker but a DayWalking Vampire!!

Rylee is feeling very unsure of herself and her control of who she is now. She is no longer a tracker, but that doesn’t mean she can’t help children or trust herself to be around them. This story is about her discovery of that which makes me keep the pages turning turning.
The story is riveting and keeps your interest. You never want to put the book down until you are finished.
What could be the best way to heal our ” wounds and hearts” after the final battle? Yesss! Epilogues! I loved and enjoyed reading about Rylee’s life after that. So good to know she found herself in her new life/ role fighting her insecurities and new danger coming her way.
It is exciting and difficult to put down.
I’ve read the entire Rylee Adamson series and novellas. I love Rylee’s character. Yes, I know…she has a potty mouth and too often leans towards a bad attitude, but it’s her character and she does it well. Her side-kicks make her genuine and show the softer side of who she really is, which made me like her even more.
Amazingly I didn’t like Rylee too much at the beginning of this book. After the previous books climactic events her level of angry just annoyed me…and then…I realized Rylee was equally annoyed…Mayer smoothly brings the reader right in to her character’s emotional head. Eventually we/Rylee come to terms and the adventure continues.
The first book in a series of eight, plus several short stories continuing to build characters. Characters are spun off in other series.
Read the first book which I got for $1.99 from Book Bud; hooked me into buying the remainder of the series for full price from Amazon.
Hate it when that happens!
I have read the previous books in the series, and really liked them. This seemed almost like a short story, but I liked the way main character had to find her way while dealing with major life changes. Lots of the typical action, fighting, etc. that is typical of this series. Really enjoyed the book!
at first I was upset that rylee was a vampire, but it got more interesting as I went along., esp. since she was still Rylee and she had Liam.
I’ve actually finished this series and loved it.
Very enjoyable and easy to like main character. The whole series is well worth a read.
The world of Rylee has been such an enjoyable series. It combines the best of character development, mystery, making of a family, paranormal themes with a great sense of humor!
