Mina has always known her place in the dragon hierarchy of Grove—at the bottom. Her king’s court is so far out of her league that she feels like she’s intruding even when she comes to work as a maid at Ryker Drake’s house. The attraction she feels for the rock-blasting, nipple-pierced sweetheart she works for is inappropriate on so many levels. But Mina can’t help herself. Maybe Ryker is just … is just amusing herself with her, like her uncle and his cronies say he must be. Maybe he’ll dump her and forget her the minute he finds a proper mate. Maybe the interest he seems to have in her will disappear like morning mist in the mountains.
Even if all that is true, Mina can’t help loving the man. Around him, she feels joy, comfort and security for the first time in…well…forever. Part of her wants to keep away from Ryker to protect herself from the inevitable heartbreak when he breaks up with her. The rest of her wants to grab onto the happiness of being with him.
Even if it can’t last.
Can it?

When the maid meets her mate
What a wonderful story. These two may be experiencing pain from the pasts that have shaped them, but, when it matters most, they learn to support each other, the family they choose and the love they feel. They have to work for their HEA, but it is sure to heal them. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
** spoiler alert ** Ryker is struggling to keep his beast in line while also trying to help his family. Mina was raised to believe she was the lowest of low. He’s determined to prove her worth. Will Ryker be able to help her? Will Mina be able to realize her strength?
I loved how these two characters were able to stabilize each other. Ryker was determined to prove that she was good enough and perfect in his eyes. I loved how despite what was happening Mina showed her strength time and again. Good read!
Ryker is home. Being a roadie for a band has been great, travelling, women and a sense of freedom, so why the hell is he back in Grove? Oh yeah his King/cousin likes to fly around trying to escape Drake mountain, so it’s all hands on deck to bring his cousin back in line.
Mina has always known about the Drake’s and their abilities. Being a lowly dragon herself, she’s aware he’s royalty and she’s not.
When she’s not a home looking after her uncle, she’s cleaning homes, one home she never expected to clean was a metallic home. But she’s here to a job, even though the owner looks hot!
Both dragons are drawn to each other, but trying to convince Mina to take a chance on him is proving difficult, but dragons are nothing if not tenacious.
Ryker isn’t aware of any problems on the town, he’s been gone a while, but spending time with Mina has opened his eyes, the chromatic dragons have their own classes, and Mina is lower than low!! Is jasper even aware? Ryker doesn’t think so, and so takes it upon himself to correct the mistake.
Mina knows It’s only a matter of time before someone discovers she’s spending time with royalty.
Then there is the problem with the King, he’s becoming more and more uncontrollable, his dragon won’t rest, it’s becoming tiring and tedious.
When Mina stumbles upon the reason for the dragon kings behaviour, Mina has to decide where her loyalties lie.
I liked this one, we have the unstable king. We find out why he’s become that way. We catch up with previous couples, and the last two hero’s of the series.
I felt sorry for Mina, being treated poorly by her uncle is bad enough, but to witness the rest of her clan treat her that way was terrible, Ryker finding out and putting a stop to it made me smile.
We’ve got a rival gang of dragons trying to move into Drake territory also to contend with.
If your going to pick up a Ryker, then I advise you to pick up the rest of the pack, it’s a fun ride.
Excellent paranormal, Dragon shifter romance. Riker and his dragon as well as his family haven’t gotten along. He left the Grove and joined a traveling band. He loved the noise because it drowned out his Dragon until he’s called home. Mina always knew her place at the bottom of the Dragon society. She worked hard then went to work as a maid at Rikers and she started to change. The main and surrounding characters are well developed so it’s easy to see where each of the metallic dragons fit in society.I received this book as part of a set via Booksprout and chose to write a review.I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Hart!ey.
Spend a LONG morning following Mina, the chromatic dragon sent to clean the catastrophic mess of Ryker Drake in this adult paranormal romance set in Grove, Colorado. I received an ARC from BookSprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ryker and Mina
Okay, being really honest I felt this book ended way to soon. It is not a short book but hey I am greedy when a story is really moving at a great pace.
It starts off slowly to build up to amore powerful middle and brings you down slowly to the end.
The characters are interesting enough and cause enough trouble to keep you read until the end.

It seems to me these Royal Dragons need to start tending their own town, now that they know what is wrong with Jasper. The writing of the dragon battle was excellent in this one. Ryker and Mina have connection right away, but Mina has such low self esteem that she doesn’t think she deserves a mate, especially a Royal Dragon. I really liked this story and the world building is coming along beautifully as we begin to understand the hierarchy of these dragons.
This book is a great read. You find out that it doesn’t matter what station you have in life. Fate will always win and you’ll be handed the destiny you deserve. I fell in love with these characters. You find yourself engrossed in this book.
Ryker Drake by Emilia Hartley is the third stand alone book in the Grove dragon shifter series. In this book, bad boy ex-roadie dragon shifter Ryker comes home to Grove and finds his mate Mina. This book was so humorous from the very beginning that it made me giggle. The attitude of Ryker is priceless and the interactions between the dragons and their mates is funny, snarky and the perfect next step in the Drake dragon family universe. Each book in the series just gets better and better. Anyone who likes reading books with endearing characters and funny dialogue will love this book. I can’t wait to read the next one!
Ryker Drake is my favorite book in the Drake dragon shifters series so far!
Ryker, just like his cousins, left his life to come home and take his rightful place in Aurum Court as a Knight of the Court. One of the ways he shows his displeasure is not cleaning up anything after his move. So, the family hires a maid service for him and this is not what he expected at all. Mina is a smaller dragon shifter, but is convinced by her abusive uncle that she is worthless and just there to take care of family (him). Not only that, he takes her earnings and forces her to do work for his slimey friends. She keeps Ryker at arms length since her uncle keeps telling her she is not good enough for a metallic dragon and an embarrassment. Ryker doesn’t understand, but he’s determined to keep her attention. There is a new threat on the mountain in the form of unknown dragons attacking. I loved how she had no doubts about helping with the attack on Jasper. Or how she could talk to Ryker easier than anyone else. I also loved how Ryker and his whole family took to her. This was so sweet and she has such a strong character and is so intelligent. I think she would make a perfect fit for Ryker. She may even have the answer to Jasper’s uncontrollable beast. I requested an advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
A really good shifter romance.
Ryker is a steel dragon who has been called home to help bring the king of the dragons, and his cousin, back under control. But the irony is that Ryker is in serious danger of losing control of his own dragon. Mina is a chromatic dragon who has been told her entire life that she is at the bottom of the dragon ranks and has been treated as a slave by her uncle and her clan. When Ryker realizes how bad the clan has fallen, he has no choice but to shake things up to save his mate, Mina. Oh yeah… and help his cousin find his control before an opposing dragon clan takes them into war.
This is the third book in the Aurum Court Dragons series and can be read as a standalone but it is definitely interconnected to the rest of the series.

the court starts to come together more clearly
A hot and steamy adventure/ romance if read as a stand alone, this book is even better as a part of the Aurum Court series.
Ryker, the steel dragon, is a sturdy fighter. A perhaps necessary asset to his golden king Jasper.
Of course, the foil to his dragon would be a small and swift mate with the heart of a lion, and a much more frail body.
Two big problems face Jasper and his court.
The metallic dragons have spent their lives mostly trying to escape their roles on the mountain, except Jasper, who was never allowed to leave. It left the chromatic dragons to assemble their own sort of hierarchy, exploiting the mos vulnerable members of their society, instead of caring for and protecting them.
This has made tiny Mina faster, and clever, as she had to be in order to survive – but it left her and other vulnerable dragons easy prey for other chromatics who wanted to exploit them.
The second big challenge Jasper faces are the other dragons who have settled on the edge of his lands. Who and what they might be there for poses a variety of threats to not only the court, but the mountain and the valley around them.
Only if they work together as family and court can they overcome the challenges and embrace and build upon the new possibilities open to them all.
Moving and exciting story with hidden depths – and good fights and steamy bits!
